I was running around the hospital at 12 am finding someone who could tell me where Samrat was. The receptionist was not there in her regular place and most of the staff were off duty. Finally I found the receptionist and asked her where I could find Samrat Shergill. She refused to tell me and wouldn't even let me go ahead. "I am sorry madam, the visiting hours are over, its from 10 am to 10 pm. Please come tomorrow." She said. I was not ready to listen to that so I argued with her for some more time. She mentioned something called a night card where one of the patient's family members could stay with them through the night incase he needed anything. I was sure who to call now.

"Hello, benji?" I said. I could hear Samrat laughing in the background. "Hi, Gunjan! How are you? Forgot all of us naa!" he said. "Shut up and come to the reception!" I yelled. He was actually trying to hide everything from me? What the hell. "What? I am at home!" he said, clearly lying. "Benji, just come to the reception." I said sternly. Now he could obviously not say anything so he kept the phone. In two minutes he was out. "When did you come back? Who told youu?" he asked. "Just now, do you have that night card with you?" I asked. "Yes, ofcourse, but who told you?" "Give it to me and go home. I don't want to speak to you!" I demanded. "Gunjan, you just came, you and Dia should go home..." he said. "Benji, Its Samrat. How can you ask me to go home?!! How could you even hide this from me?" I scolded. "Just give me the card" I added. He handed it over to me with a frown and said, "Samrat told all of us to." then left with Dia.. Dia didn't grumble for not being able to see Samrat. She was the only person who understood how important it was for me to meet him after all that she had seen the whole way. I was really worried for him. I walked as fast as I could to Room No. 018. , as I was told not to run.

I flung the door open and he looked up with a shocked expression. I ran and hugged him tightly. Samrat had a plaster on his hand and he sat there shirtless with gashes all over his body. Seeing his condition, tears started to flow down my cheek and obviously he felt my tears on his shoulder and couldn't control himself. "Does Louis have a Tissue paper factory?" he asked laughing. I felt like hitting him but I couldn't, for obvious reasons. I didn't let go of him and more and more tears fell. "Oh, He's a real prince. He could just buy one." He added. I really didn't know what he was getting at or what sort of a comment that was but I didnt care. I was with him and he was going to be okay. That is all that mattered. "Hey, Gunjan. Please, don't cry yaar.. I am still alive!" he said placing his other arm around me. "Not for long, I am going to kill you!" I sobbed. "I had a small accident and look how much your crying, and your going to kill me?" he smirked. "SMALL? Samrat this is not small, little here and there and you could have lost your life." I jerked back letting him go. "What do you think ha? Can't you, for once in your life, take care of yourself when I am not there. You had to talk to Dia on the phone while driving and on top of that you had the guts to tell her not to tell me anything?" I yelled without a breathe. "Breathe. Gunjan, breathe." He said. "I feel like hitting you now!" I said. "Relax, it was just a small accide' he saw me widen my eyes so he corrected himself, "Okay! It was just an accident and I didn't want to trouble you when you were finally happy with someone after so long!" he said, "And anyway, you were the one who said that you need to stay away from all of this for a while!" he added. "But you had such a big accident, you've got hurt so badly and you tell me NOT to worry! You didn't even want me to know? You know how bad I felt when Dia told me that you told her not to tell mee!" I said. My tone had changed from emotional, to angry and now it was back to emotional. "I am sorry baba. Next time even if I have a small accident I will tell you!" he said grinning. "Shut up! Next time you won't have an accident because you are going to take care of yourself!" I stated.

After a little more scolding, I finally relaxed. Samrat was going to be okay, and now I was here, there was nothing to worry about. "I think now you should send Benji in, he must be getting really bugged sitting outside.." Samrat said. "Oh, no. He has gone home. I am staying!" I told him. "Why? Gunjan, when did you come back?" "Just now, came straight here, why?" "What? You haven't even gone home? Are you crazy? Just go home okay.. I'll be here in the morning also." He said. "After all this, you really think I am gonna listen to you?" I commented. "Look, Gunjan, you must be so tired and you need sleep. You really don't have to stay.." he said looking at me. "Ofcourse I don't have to stay. I want to." I said and ended the discussion. I got up from his bed and sat on the tool next to him. I miss how we used to talk every minute of every day & how I was able to tell you everything that was on my mind. I miss the old Samrat so much, and this is the first step of getting things back to normal. As we spoke about our summer, it actually felt like old times. Samrat cracking jokes at how Louis and I met, and Louis making breakfast for me. I just ignored most of it. He still didn't believe that I had actually met my prince charming. All those times when he had made fun of me and my description of my prince. Now he could just sit and suck on that. I am going to make sure Louis meets Samrat fast. He has to see that men like Louis still exist... Finally I said, "Go to bed Samrat, its 2 o'clock. You should sleep." "No! Tell me more naa, does Louis also have an evil stepmother who doesn't like you and all that? And his sister you were saying, is she hot?" "Shut up! And go to bed now." I said. He reached out for some medicine. I gave it to him, "Is it time for your medicine?" I asked. "No, I don't have a time or anything, these are painkillers. My back is hurting..." he said. I looked at the gashes on his back. They were bandaged. "How bad is it?" I asked. "They were quite deep but didn't break my ribs or my backbone." He admitted. I sighed and gave him water. "Goodnight.." I said and turned around to go when he caught my hand. "Gunjan, thank you for forgiving me," he said, "and coming here.. I missed you, alot.." he said. "I am glad I am here." I said and then switched off the lights. Before I could go sleep, my phone rang. I thought it would be mom. Benji or Dia must have told her. But it was Louis. And then I remembered, I had told him I would call when I reach. I looked at Samrat who seemed to be asleep, so I slipped out of the room and quietly picked up the phone.

"Hello" I said. "Hi Gunjan, I was so worried, are you alright?" he asked. "Yes, I am fine. Even Samrat is okay now, he fractured his right arm and hot hurt on his back but.. he's going to be fine.." I said. "That's great, are you home yet?" he asked. "No, actually I'll be staying in the hospital today.. There has to be someone here with him." "But there is no one else to stay? You must be so tired.." Ugh.. why did everyone think I need rest. I dont. "No, I am fine. And I wanted to stay tonight. How are you?" "I am fine Gunjan, what would happen to me?" Silence.. He didn't say anything and I couldn't find anything to say. "Any plans of coming back?" he asked after a minute. "Not now.. I have graduation in a month and now my mother will be going to South Africa for her fashion show, so..." "I can understand.. But I really miss you" "Why don't you come to Dubai?" It was a great idea. That way everyone could meet him. "I don't knoww Gunjan.. Right now is a little tough, but I will try." Silence again. Then he finally said, "Ok, I think now you should sleep.. Its really late and you must be tired, take care Gunjan. I am missing you so much. Got so used to you in these few days." He said. I missed him too and his French accent. It was so cute. "Me too." I replied. "Bonne nuit (Goodnight)" he said. "Bonne Nuit.. We'll talk tomorrow." I said and cut the line. He was so worried because I didn't call. How could I forget? Gah!

The next morning I woke up to see everyone in the room. How did I not wake up? Samrat was sitting on the bed talking to mom, Dia and Benji. "Why didn't you guys wake me up?" I said as I yawned and got up from the sofa. My neck was paining now. The sofa was so uncomfortable. "Because everytime one of us entered, Samrat went 'shhh'. That's why you didn't wake up!" Benji answered laughing as Samrat smacked him on his arm. I got up and mom hugged me. "How are youu?" she asked. "I am fine mom.." I said sleepily. "I didn't even know my daughter was in town before I came to the hospital today!" she said. "I totally forgot to call yesterday, I thought Dia or someone would tell you anyway." I said. Then I went in the bathroom to wash my face. I came out and asked Samrat how his back was. He said it was better now. I was sitting there when mom said, "Why don't you go home and freshen up?" "I can drive you.." Benji volunteered. I was a little hesitant but Samrat insisted so I agreed.

On the way Benji told me how bored they were with me and Dia being out of town and how much they missed us. After that he told me how Samrat missed me so much and he kept talking about me all day. "What I don't understand is why Samrat didn't want to tell me that he had an accident? Didn't he tell you'll a reason?" "Umm.. Gunjan.. I think..you should ask Samrat that.." he said. "He told me some made up crap." "Basically, He knew how long you had waited for the perfect man, and now that you had met him, and with all the trouble going on between you and samrat, he didn't want to bother you or disturb you.." Benji said. I didn't reply. I didn't know what to tell him? I really thought that all the differences between me and Samrat were irrelevant to the fact that we were best friends. But Samrat still thinks about all that he did. After everything that's happened, he still thinks he would bother me if he told me about his accident. How was I going to change that?
