The day went by as usual. Soon everyone had left. She walked over to the sofa and sat there, not waiting or planning what she was going to say or how she was going to demand an answer. She just stared into blank space.

The sound of the door opening jolted her back to reality. But she didn't rush to the direction of the door.

"Om Prakash!" yelled Arnav in the usual fed-up and annoyed tone he had after a busy day at work.

he strode in, not noticing her. Khushi stayed seated calmly.

"Om P-" he was cut off.

"he is not at home!!" Khushi yelled back at him somewhat coldly.

He turned around to find Khushi just a few feet behind him.

"where is Di and everyone else?" he asked. His tone warning Khushi to stay in her limits.

"why??" she simply asked. She did not stammer nor did she flinch.

A sudden calm over took the whole house. Everything went silent. There was not the sound of any footsteps, not the sound of the wind passing through the empty hallways, not even the sound of their own breathes. It was so quite that their heart beats could be heard...that is if there were any to be heard in the first place. It was a the calm before the storm.
