Chapter 4~Our Voices collide
Khushi saw the passing blocks of buildings as she gazed through the window of Armaan's car. How will she ever learn to leave her past when the past was not ready to leave her? Every single time she fails on her own promise of not seeing him again. This is exactly why she was avoiding a visit Delhi. If Armaan's family didn't belong to this place she would have never come back!
Her thoughts were broken when Armaan's heavy voice pierced in "I'll cancel the party!.
"What? Noo your not " replied Khushi with a equally heavy tone.
"You have been quite for the last fifteen minutes Khushi and I'm not letting that continue" glaring sideway so that he could see her expression.
"I just need some time to sync all this in.. but that does not mean you have to cancel it" she gave a weak smile to Armaan while her words assured him that she would handle it.
"Don't stress over it too much .. Just go with the flow" calmly he stated with a soft smile. Khushi nodded her head in agreement before she went back to gazing out again.
After about five minutes Armaan took a left turn and glanced over at Khushi during the turn "so how was your visit at the Raizada's?" he asked keeping his tone casual.
Without moving her eyes "it was fine" she replied with a flat tone.
Armaan maintained his eye level on the road and enquired, "did you meet him?" halting at the red signal and saw her body flinch a bit.
Khushi flinched slightly on her seat at the mention of him and closed her eyes briefly remembering the tiny clash she had with him but quickly opened them horrified of what she was thinking.
"Khushi..?" Armaan shook her shoulder lightly with one of his hand while the other began driving as the signal went green. Khushi took in a deep breathe and turned herself completely towards Armaan with a fake bright smile "of course I met him.. we didn't speak much though" her voice beginning to get louder now.
Armaan shook his head roughly "Khushi! You don't have to pretend to be cheerful. I know it must have been hard on seeing him again and it's ok to be like that" he forced a smile "and anyway it's not like I'm gonna beat you up for seeing your ex-husband so can you please act normal?" pleadingly he grinned.
Khushi's fake smile turned into a genuine smile due to his sarcastic comment. She shoved his shoulder lightly towards the other end for the annoyingly funny comment.
Finally being able to see that smile he continued with his nasty yet funny remarks "so how's the dramaqueen..I bet she must have cried" trying to hold his laugh and getting ready to get another smack from Khushi.
"whaaa? OH !" and thud she gave him a smack on his shoulder but a little stronger this time. "Di is not a drama queen!! Shee..well she gets emotional" she concluded in a cranky voice. "Oh pleaseee all she does is cry and the whole house pampers her like she is some ten year old kid" he spat out but with a hint of seriousness this time.
Khushi knew exactly what he was hinting so she kept silent for few seconds before looking back at him "she's just a little possessive" her voice sank into a whisper. Armaan stomped on the break making her jump on her seat "she's the reason you are out of that bloody house..and of course her so called god like husband being another one" staring into his steering wheel he tried to control the heated rage that burnt his face.
Khushi tried hard to control the tears that were almost covering her eyes "he wasn't there" she stated and moved her hand towards his to relax him.
The fact that the bas***d was not in the house made him come back to ease again

"Your house is here .. I'll see Shashi uncle this weekend at the party ok?" he said while opening her side of the door. She was glad he was back to his normal self "it's this weekend?" she asked and climbed out of the car. "Yeah is it too early?" he took his phone out to ensure if it was Wednesday today. "No no well actually yes considering I don't have something appropriate enough to wear" she complained with a worried expression. Armaan rested his shoulders on the car lightly with a grin on his face "you don't have to worry about that you will get your outfit by Friday besides Delhi is not on cloth strike Khushi" he mocked at her narrowed eyes which were staring at him.
"Shut up! Make sure it's a good one or else your dead" she yelled and started moving towards her entrance when she heard Armaan call at her back "take care sanka devi!". Before she could scream for calling her that she saw the car drive off. Idiot she muttered mentally.

The landline kept ringing for about two minutes when Arnav yelled out "Hari prakash! Jai prakash!" but no one was in sight "where the hell is everyone" he muttered and walked down to get the phone.
"Hello?!" he received with a frustrated tone.
Khushi's hand collapsed on her phone when she heard his voice..she had been wishing he would not pick up but exactly the opposite happened.
"HELLO? WHUU?" and then he stopped mid sentence on hearing heavy sighs coming from the other end. "Khushiii?" he recognized with his tenderly husky voice.
"Urmmm yes I wanted to talk to Jiji" she stammered on realizing he recognized it was her.
Arnav clenched his fist "usually people do cordial talking before jumping into conclusion" he replied with a hint of sarcasm in his voice.
"Oh.. how are you Arnavji?" she questioned unconsciously, not knowing why exactly she was following his instructions.
"Please don't bother Khushi" and as soon as he saw Payal walking towards him, he wished she would walk a little more gingerly so he could hear Khushi's voice a bit longer. But she was quick enough to reach him so he handed it to her stepping out of the way.
The moment Payal took the receiver near her ear she heard her soft voice "it's not like that Arnavji" surprising her.
"Wohh Khushi it's me Payal" she said regretting for interrupting their conversation. Khushi's heart sank when she heard her sister take over..does he hate my voice that much?? She thought while Payal called out to her again "Khushi are you there?"
"huh? What yes yes Jiji!! I called up to inform about my engagement party" she rushed into the phone.
"Engagement party?" asked an utterly confused Payal, her confusion was loud enough to reach Arnav's ears that were near the stairs. He looked back at Payal wanting to hear more of their conversation but later decided to walk off to fight the urge of ripping off the phone from her.
"uhh yeah it's an official party for our engament..it will be held at the Temptations this weekend and please bring Nani, Di and Akash jiju along" she completed wondering if Arnav was listening to all of this.
"Sure I'll them know..what about Arnavji?" she persisted to know if Khushi had invited him. "He's got an invitation from our company" Khushi informed in an official tone and before her sister could ask anything else "Jiji I have to go now ok..bye take care" hung up quickly.

Watering the plants usually helped him to stop and think about his life. But today he wasn't thinking or rather didn't know what to think. As the water sipped into the soil he watched it and thought back she called up to inform about the party so does that mean she's actually moved on? She's given up on me..on us?
Her hands moved in circular motion with her eyes focused into the frying Jalebis. Her hands were having a hard time catching up with her thoughts that were moving from one topic to the other. Arnav recognized me without hearing my voice..how is that even possible? And and he called out my name with such tenderness. Shit! Why is his voice so proving ughhh stupid Raizada! Finally switching off the gas stove with a huff she carried the plate full of Jalebis to her room.
Arnav slammed the water jar near the plant plank and dashed into his room fuming for thinking about her when she didn't even care, What the?! She has gone back to calling me "Arnavji" making me feel Armaan has taken my place.
She didn't even care to invite me personally so why am I giving her so much importance? To hell with it! No one from AR is going to step into that lowlife Pre wedding bash!!!! Yeah that's it.. not going will be the best solution!
Khushi sat on her bed munching on the Jalebis that helped her relax. She looked down at the Jalebi in her hand and sadly uttered "He's not going to turn up at the party..Is he?"
P.S -- If you want a huge Arhi scene by next update then i need good comments hahaha :P
