Part 49

"When are you planning to tell me.. ?? "
"When we reach home "
"Are you even planning to tell me. Or your mind changed. "
"Ofcourse i am planning to tell. Only if you stay quiet for a second.. "
Shilpa scowled hearing the boredom in his voice as he kept driving back to the home. Back in hospital he had said about a kept secret. She wondered what he was hiding from her. And the awkward silence right now between them wasnt doing any help.
"Are you having a disease ?" She spoke carefully turning around to face him as he glanced back confused.. " I dont have any disease "
"So.. Are you secretly married.. ? "
"Not even in my wildest dream.. " He replied with a chuckle
"Whatelse. Are you pregnant.. ?"
He shook his head clearing his throat.. "Sorry out of nature.. "
"Stop making me more curious tell me the secret.. "
"Not yet "
"Atleast tell half of it. Come on "
"No"
"How about you give me a hint. Just one so i can guess.. "
"No"
"Looser ! "

"Armaan Mallik. You are done with your food, Shower , Changing clothes.. Now do you mind telling me about it.. " Shilpa spoke irritatedly as she kept drying her hair infront of the mirror. She caught up his glance in the reflection as he stared. For a minute she felt as if she had seen worry and tension in them. But soon it passed of as he grinned with a amused look.."How about i catch some sleep before i talk.. "
Shilpa huffed and looked away without a word. Since they had been back to home he had been driving her crazy and right now she doubted if he would..
Her thoughts got interrupted as he spoke softly.. "They are going to sell Sanjeevani "
Everything went still as she turned around gaping at him.. "What ?? ! "
He stared at her for a while and gave a small nod.. "Its true. Trustees are back to take away the hospital from me.. "
" But.. How can they just come and take it away.. Do they have any court order. What power they do hold to take it away from us.. ?? " Shilpa started to ask questions as she still found it hard to digest the truth. Trustees want Sanjeevani. Could it really be possible.
"They cant take it away from me without any big reason. What i mean to say is last time when they had visited here they had cleared it out to me that they wish to give Sanjeevani in hands of foreign doctors to run it. They are still waiting for me to say yes to them.. "
Shilpa shook her head in disbelief as she set beside him.. "How can they do like this. I mean how can they just give it up to some foreigners "
Armaan shrugged as he glanced away to the window.. "If money talks anything is possible. If they do the deal with this foreign doctors they are tend to get enough money. Since then they had been waiting , inspecting the hospital close. And now they are again back to do that.. "
Shilpa stayed quiet trying to absorb the truth which he had spoken out.
" So on what basis they are waiting to takeover the hospital.. "
Armaan glanced at her troubled as he sign heavily.. "As i said they are inspecting our every move. One big mistake and we are over. They just need to see one mistake from our side and use it against us.. "
Shilpa bit her lip as she took his hand in hers.. "Now i get it. That was the reason why you were so worried on their arrival. Why you wanted everything perfect.. "
She leaned on him and hugged him in a comforting manner.
"Do you plan to tell others about it.. " Shilpa spoke quietly shifting back to look in his eyes..
" NO " He replied instantly.. " Lets keep this secret between us. I dont want to tell about this to them and stress them out. We will deal with this ourself.. "
Shilpa smiled and kissed his cheek.. "Now that i know , i am going to make sure everything goes smooth. Dont worry Armaan. They cant take it away from you. From us. We will deal with it together.. "
A little tension faded from her as she saw him smile finally. As he fell back on the bed she shifted beside him caressing his face.. Armaan let out a frustrated sigh and glanced at her worried.. " I dont think i can sleep. All these thoughts keeps worrying me.. "
"Everything is going to be alright Armaan. Get some sleep you look tired.." She pressed encouragingly as he gave a curt nod.
His eyes grew misty which shocked her.. "The hospital. Its the only valuable memory i have of my parents. I cant let it go.. "
Shilpa felt his pain and realized the memories of his parents attached with hospital was worrying him most.. "Their memories are going to stay with you only. Trust me they cant snatch it away from you. I promise "

After the restful night they had spent together her head ached bad. But still Shilpa tried her best to concentrate on her work knowing they were being watched closely.
" Shilpa " Anjali gave a nudge to her excited.. Shilpa glanced at her surprised.. " Whats wrong.. And why are you not on duty.. ? "
Anjali rolled her eyes seeing her worried face.. "Now you are becoming second Armaan Mallik. Darling i have completed my rounds. Forget it did you here about the Fund raising function. Armaan have announced its going to be held on next week. Do go and check notice board. "
Shilpa gave a nod .. "Thats surprising. I will have a check on it.. But i dont get it why are you so excited"
" Come with me to the cafeteria we will tell you.. "

"You really have no idea about fund raising thing " Rahul joked around as Shilpa set infront of them frowning..
"Oh well for your kind information Dr.Rahul i wasnt present here in previous years.. "
" And Me too. I also need to know about this event.. " Muskaan piped in excitedly as Rahul rolled his eyes.
Atul shook his head and spoke.. " Well in last year fund raising event, u know all doctors among us participated in a dance. We all did it.. "
" Except Armaan " Anjali giggled making her smile
"And on that day we actually dared bro to do a dance on next fund raising event.. " Rahul spoke grinning widely as Muskaan and Shilpa gaped at him..
" You gotta be kidding me. Armaan and Dance !! Thats not happening ever.. " Shilpa spoke in a shocked voice as the gang laughed..
" We know that Shilpa. But its a dare for Armaan and we all know he hardly back away from challenges. "
" What about the trustees. Are they going to come on to the event. ? " Shilpa spoke out the first doubt which appeared on her mind with the new tension..
" Dont worry about them. Whatever we do on fund raising event benefits the hospital only. So they cant have any objections.. " Her tension eased as Atul reassured her with his words..
"But the question here is is Bro going to Dance. What if he says no.. " Rahul spoke quickly..
" Dont worry about him. I will handle that " Shilpa spoke grinning as plans started to form in her mind..
