Khushi smacks Arnav's arm.
Khushi: Toh aap jag rahe the?Aur humein sataane k liye sone ka naatak kar rahe they,kyun?
Arnav: Aur tum?
Khushi(confused): Hum?Hum kya?
Arnav(smirks): Tumne mujhe isiliye jagaya kyunki tumhe pyas lagi thi ya.. koi aur baat thi?
Khushi(looks away): Nahi.. aur koi baat nahi thi.
Arnav: Really? Theek hai toh main so jata hoon! Goodnight!
He moves Khushi's leg aside and is about to turn,when Khushi stops him.
Khushi: Sone k liye aapko us taraf mudne ki kya zaroorat hai?Jaise lete hain waise hi so jaiyye!
Again she keeps her leg on his leg and her hand on his shoulder.
Arnav: Hello?Sona mujhe hai,so main decide karunga ki mujhe kaise sona hai,kis taraf mud kar sona hai!Okay?
Khushi: Aapki marzi! Waise.. (runs a hand through his hair) aapko sone ki zaroorat toh hai. Kal raat humari wajah se aap theek se so bhi toh nahi paye.Kitni baar uth-uth kar humein kambal odhaya,humari peeth dabayi,hum..
Arnav(interrupts):Tumhe kaise pata chala?Tum jag rahi thi?
Khushi: Nahi,kachchhi neend me the,isiliye humein pata chala.Khair,woh chhodiye,aap so jaiyye.
She removes her leg and her hand and lies straight on her back.
Arnav: Tum jag kar kya karogi?Tum bhi so jao,u need rest as well.
With that Khushi turns to her side of the bed and Arnav towards his side of the bed.
They lie like that,with their backs facing each other, for about 15 minutes,trying hard to sleep,but not able to.
Arnav(softly): Khushi.. r u awake?
Khushi: Hmm,boliye..
Arnav: Main soch raha tha k.. (turns towards her) yeh bed aawaz karta hai,agreed..
Khushi(turns to face him): Haa.. toh..?
Arnav: Par.. dekhkar toh strong lagta hai,u know.. what I mean?
He takes her hands in his and removes his mother's bangles.
Khushi(takes a quick look at the clock): 5:30 bajne wale hain,buaji k uthne ka samay ho raha hai.
Arnav(puts an arm around her waist): Mujhe buaji se nahi,tumse matlab hai!
Khushi(annoyed): Areh par humein toh buaji se matlab hai na!Kya sochengi woh?Aur farz kariye,aap.. hum.. woh sab.. karne gaye aur bistar toot gaya toh?
Arnav(moving her hair away from her neck): Toh.. kya?Hum andar ghus jayenge,neeche thode hi na girenge!
Khushi: Phir humein nikalne k liye amma aur buaji ko aana padega!
She imagines buaji and amma breaking the door,to find Arnav & Khushi in a compromising position,stuck,thanks to the broken bed.Buaji and amma helping them out,not saying anything to Arnav but teasing her later.And then buaji telling about the whole thing to Anjali,who would tell nani and Paayal and then the whole clan would tease her whenever they would get together.
Khushi(nearly screams): Nnahi!
Arnav(shocked): Khushi,r u..? Chillai kyun?
Khushi(shakes her head): Nahi,nahi,nahi,nahi! Yahaan nahi!(cups his face) Bistar toot gaya toh musibat ho jayegi Arnavji,please,maan jaiyye!
Arnav(sighs): Fine. Waise bhi hum subha ghar jaa hi rahe hain na,its ok.
He again turns his back towards her and tries to sleep,unsuccessfully.
5 minutes later..
Khushi: Suniye..
Arnav: Hmm?
Khushi: Sorry!Woh.. hum..
Arnav(turns towards her): Its ok Khushi,u need not b sorry! Di ne mujhse kal kaha tha ki mujhe tumhari wishes ki respect karni chahiye. Hamesha apne decisions tum par force nahi karne chahiye.Tum jo keh rahi ho,that's a valid point,agar bed toot gaya toh.. we'll b in a very embarassing position!
Khushi smiles,glad that he understood her.
Arnav: So,its okay,u dont need to feel guilty.
He pats her head.
Arnav: So jao.
Khushi: Aapko neend aa rahi hai?
Arnav: Nah!(looks at the wall clock)Soch raha hoon aj thoda jaldi nikal jaun,jogging karne k liye.
Khushi nods.
Then they dont say anything to each other for sometime,just staring at each other,occasionally.
Arnav: I guess.. mujhe ab uthna chahiye...
Khushi(looks at the clock): Abhi toh 6 bhi nahi baje,aap.. itni jaldi..?
Arnav: Ya,no problem,bahar toh roshni ho hi gayi hai.
He gets up and goes towards the study table,where he had kept his laptop bag.
Khushi: Aap in kapdon me jogging karne jayenge?
Arnav(smiles): Nahi Khushi,main apna track suit laya hoon.
He takes out his trainers and track shoes.
Arnav: Tum sone ki koshish karo.Main change kar leta hoon,phir brush kar k directly nikal jaunga.
Khushi nods.
Arnav takes off his kurta.
He comes towards the bed.
Khushi: Kya hua?
Arnav: Nothing,main.. apna phone lene aaya tha.
Khushi: Phone?Par phone toh aapne kal charging par rakha tha na,baithak me?
Arnav: Ya,of course! a.. bhool gaya tha!
He is about to go when Khushi stops him.
Khushi: Aapko di ne.. humari ichchaon ka sammaan karne k liye kaha hai naa?
Arnav: Ya.
Khushi(with a naughty smile): Theek hai,toh taiyyar ho jaiyye!Hum aapse mazdoori karvana chahte hain!
Arnav: What the..!?
Khushi: Woh kursi lijiye,use bistar k is taraf rakh dijiye.Aur phir..(she points to the the cupboard) almarih k peechhe chatai hogi.Use neechhe bichaiyye aur us par ek takiya rakh dijiye!
Arnav(who gets what she's trying to say): Okay..
He does what he is told.
Arnav: Ab?(he walks over to her side of the bed): Ab kise neeche utarna hai?
Khushi: Humein!
Arnav is about to lift her in his arms but stops.
Khushi: Kya hua?
Arnav: Soch raha hoon..
Khushi(confused): Kya?
Arnav: Tumhe dobara backpain hua toh?
Khushi: Aap balm laga dena.
Arnav: Hmm. Aur chuhe aa gaye toh?Tumne kaha tha na,yahan choohe ghoomte rehte hain,remember?
Khushi(annoyed): Woh raat ko ghoomte hain,subha nahi!
She sits up.
Khushi: Aap humein uthakar le ja rahe hain ya hum khud chalkar chale jaye?
Arnav(lifting her in his arms): Buaji ne aawaz sun li toh?
Khushi: Bistar par kuch hoga nahi toh aawaaz kahan se aayegi?
Arnav(laying her down): Bistar toh aawaz nahi karega,tumhara kya?(smirks)Is baat ki kya guarantee hai ki tum aawaaz nahi karogi?
Khushi: Us baat ki guarantee aapko deni hogi! Ki aap koi aisi harkat nahi karenge jisse ki humari aawaaz is kamre k baahar jaaye!
Arnav(smirks): Sorry! Main aisi koi guarantee nahi de sakta!
Khushi(super annoyed): Theek hai,toh jaiyye jogging par,aur hum chale rasoi me!
She is about to get up,but Arnav pushes her down and lies on top of her.
Arnav: Relax!(smirks)Guarantee le li maine,okay?Now,shall v?
Khushi blushes and nods.

*6:30 AM,Gupta house,Khushi's room*
Arnav n Khushi lie arm in arm on the handwoven mat,totally exhausted.
Khushi: Humein nahi lagta aaj aapko jogging karne ki zaroorat hai.Ghar baithe-baithe paseena baha liya aapne!
She wipes his forehead with the back of her hand.
Arnav: Paseena toh baha liya,woh kar bhi liya jo karna tha lekin.. maza nahi aaya!
Khushi: Humein toh maza aaya,aapko kyun nahi aaya?
Arnav(smiles): I guess tum bahut shant thi aaj,isiliye maza nahi aaya!
Khushi gives him a knowing look and nods.
Arnav: Varna tum bolti rehti ho aur mujhe tumhe chup karvana padta hai! Aaj tumhari moonh se ek "aah" bhi nahi nikla!
Khushi: Yeh toh hum hi jante hain ki humein kya karna pada apneaap ko rokne k liye.(touches her lower lip)Haay!Hamare honth,chabaa diye humne taaki koi aawaaz na nikle!
Arnav touches her lips,running his thumb along her lower lip.
Khushi(holding his thumb): Waise aaj aapko daad deni chahiye!Aapne shararat bahut kam ki,good boy!
Arnav: Isiliye toh maza nahi aaya!
He moves his thumb from her lips,down her chin to her neck and stops at the nape of her neck.
Khushi(sensing his intentions): Nahi!Humne aapse kaha aapne shararat kam ki,iska matlab yeh nahi ki aap..
Arnav(smirks): Kya?
He bends and kisses her nape.
Khushi: Ki aap bad boy bankar humein sharat kar k dikhaye! Ek baat yaad rakhiyega,mr. Raizada: Zaroorat padhne par hum bhi shararat kar sakte hain!
Arnav(smirks): Really?Toh karke dikhao! Mujhe bhi toh pata chale ki..
Khushi(interrupts): Aapko humari shararat bahut bhari padegi,soch lijiye!
Arnav(smirks): Soch liya!
He gives her a love bite on the nape of her neck and Khushi hisses sharply.
While he soothes her nape with his tongue,Khushi,in a fit of passion and rage,bites his left shoulder,hard.
Arnav,who was totally not expecting it,growls loudly.
He gets up to tend to his shoulder.
Khushi gets up as well,realizing that she may hav bit him a bit too hard.
Khushi: Dikhaiyye..
Arnav turns to Khushi and is about to say something when they hear a knock on the door.
Buaji: Arnav babua,ka hua?
Garima: Khusi,bitiya darvajja khol!Ka hua bitwa ko?
Khushi: Kk..kuch nahi amma!Aap haldi aur ghee ka lep banaiyye,hum aa rahe hain!
Buaji: Arey par Arnav babua ko hua ka?
Arnav: Nothing buaji,I'm fine! Woh.. laptop haath par band kar diya!
Buaji: Hay re Nandkisore! a.. babua hum baraf le aate hain,lagaye lena,aaram milega!
Garima: Ha aur hum lep bana laate hain!
Khushi heaves a sigh of relief as she hears them go.
Arnav & Khushi get up and get dressed as soon as possible.
Khushi(before opening the door): Hum.. lep.. aur.. baraf le.. aate hain.
Buaji(from outside): Aye Sanka devi!Jaldi baahar aao!
Khushi: Aaye buaji!(turns to Arnav) Hum aaye,bas.. do minute..

Khushi: No,I was in light sleep,coz of the pain,so I came to know.Anyways,go to sleep now.

With that Khushi turns to her side of the bed and Arnav towards his side of the bed.

Khushi(looks at the clock): Its not even 6 now.. u'll go.. this early..?
Arnav: Ya,no problem,there's sufficient light outside.
He gets up and goes towards the study table,where he had kept his laptop bag.
Khushi: U'll go for jogging in these clothes?
Arnav(smiles): No Khushi,I've got my tracksuit with me.
He takes out his trainers and track shoes.
Arnav: U try to sleep.I'll change first and then brush my teeth,so I can leave directly from there.
Khushi nods.
Arnav takes off his kurta.
He comes towards the bed.
Khushi: What happened?
Arnav: Nothing,I came to take my.. phone.
Khushi: Phone?But hadnt u kept ur phone for charging in the living room last right?
Arnav: Ya,of course! a.. I forgot!
He is about to go when Khushi stops him.
Khushi: Di has.. told u to respect my wishes,hasnt she?
Arnav: Ya.
Khushi(with a naughty smile): Ok,so get ready!I want u to do some laborious work for me!
Arnav: What the..!?
Khushi: Pick up that chair and keep it on this side of the bed.Look..(she points to the the cupboard) there must b a handwoven mat behind the cupboard. Roll it on the floor and keep a pillow on it.
Arnav(who gets what she's trying to say): Okay..
He does what he is told.
Arnav: Now?(he walks over to her side of the bed): Now whom do I need to keep on the mat?
Khushi: Me!
Arnav is about to lift her in his arms but stops.
Khushi: What happened?
Arnav: I was thinking..
Khushi(confused): About what?
Arnav: What if u get backpain again?
Khushi: U apply the balm,in that case.
Arnav: Hmm. And what if the mice come visiting? U had told me once that mice keep roaming in the room,remember?
Khushi(annoyed): Ya,but they roam about at night,not in the morning!
She sits up.
Khushi: Now r u taking me there or should I go there myself?
Arnav(lifting her in his arms): What if buaji hears the sounds?
Khushi: What sounds?Since no one will b on the bed,how will it make sounds?
Arnav(laying her down): Bed wont make any sound,but what about u?(smirks)Can u guarantee that u wont make any sounds?
Khushi: U need to guarantee that! That u will not play any mischief,so that way no sound will go out of this room!
Arnav(smirks): Sorry! I cant give any such guarantee!
Khushi(super annoyed): Fine,so u go for jogging and I'll go to the kitchen!
She is about to get up,but Arnav pushes her down and lies on top of her.

Khushi(holding his thumb): BTW,I need to praise u today! U didnt play a lot of mischief,good boy!
Arnav: Thats y I didnt have fun!
He moves his thumb from her lips,down her chin to her neck and stops at the nape of her neck.
Khushi(sensing his intentions): No! Just bcoz I told u that u didnt play enough mischief,doesnt mean that..
Arnav(smirks): What?
He bends and kisses her nape.
Khushi: That'll ur turn into a mischievious,bad boy! Remember one thing,mr. Raizada:Even I can b mischievious when needed!
Arnav(smirks): Really?So turn mischievious!Let me see ur naughty side!
Khushi(interrupts): U'll have to pay heavily for my mischief,think about it!

Buaji: Arey but what happened to Arnav babua?
Arnav: Nothing buaji,I'm fine! Woh.. I slammed the laptop shut on my hand!
Buaji: Hay re Nandkisore! a.. babua I'll get u some ice,once u apply that,u will feel better!
Garima: Ya and I'll make the lep for u!
Khushi heaves a sigh of relief as she hears them go.
Arnav & Khushi get up and get dressed as soon as possible.
Khushi(before opening the door): I'll.. get the.. lep and.. ice..
Buaji(from outside): Aye Sanka devi! Come out fast!
Khushi: Coming buaji!(turns to Arnav) I'll b back.. in just.. two minutes..
Arnav nods.

Arnav: Its been 15 minutes,y hasnt Khushi turned up yet? Looks like I'll have to fetch the first aid box from the car!Anyways,all that lep and all is messy and irritating!
He opens the door and is about to go out,but stops,finding no one in the house.
Arnav: Khushi?buaji?Ammaji?
No response.
Arnav: Khushi?
He goes to the kitchen to find it empty.
Arnav: Where did everyone go?Babuji..? Khushi..?
He is about to go towards buaji's room,when he hears an unfamiliar voice.
Lady: Namaste nandoiji!
Arnav turns around and sees a lady in her early thirties and a child,about 6-7 yrs old,partially hidden behind her.
Arnav: Ji?
Lady: I said namaste nandoiji!
Arnav thinks the lady has entered the wrong house and is mistaking him to be someone else.
Arnav: I think.. u r mistaken. a.. me.. I'm not nandoi.
The color drains from the lady's face.
Lady: Forgive me! I thought u r.. Khusi's woh..
Arnav: Woh? Yes,of course! I am indeed Khushi's.. husband but my name is Arnav!
Lady(smiles): Areh so u r only my nandoiji!
Arnav(confused): Ji?
Lady: Khusi is my nanad(SIL) so u r my nandoi na! Anyways, Namaste!My name is Ramaa! And.. this is my son, Deepak!
She pulls the child,who was hiding behind her back,out to face Arnav.
Lady: Munna,go n touch phuphaji's feet!
The child runs to touch Arnav's feet.
Arnav: Nnnoo,no!!
Lady: Since he's touching ur feet,plz bless him!
Arnav(pats his head): Ya.. a.. jeete raho!
The child gets up and smiles at Arnav.
Arnav gives him a small smile.
Ramaa: Buaji and mausiji keep praising u!
Arnav: a.. did u happen to meet Khushi?
Ramaa: Ya! I met her! She's outside.
Arnav(looks outside): Out.. side?
Ramaa: Yes! The auto in which I and Munna were coming reached first,the rest of the family is yet to come. Khusi,mausiji,mausaji and buaji have gone to the crossroad to recieve them! Rest of them meaning, Munna's father and his younger one are in one auto. And his older bua,older phuphaji and their daughter Seema are in the other auto. First I thought of going to the crossroad after leaving the luggage near the door. But then I came inside. Actually Munna hasnt eaten anything ever since we sat in the train yesterday evening. He's hungry.. so I came here, thought I'll give him some milk.
Arnav(thinks): She's most certainly Khushi's relative!
Ramaa: Should I make some tea for u?
Arnav: No thanks! Let me also go out and.. welcome them!
Ramaa: No,no! U dont need to take that trouble! After all u r the son-in-law of this house! U please sit,they must b on their way back! (turns to her son)Munna, bitwa, u sit and chat with phuphaji,meanwhile I'll get u some milk,okay?
Deepak: Ok!Come phuphaji!
He holds Arnav's hand and drags him towards the dining table.
