Arnav could have waited forever...but Khushi took not more than 10 minutes in the bathroom...he remembered when he was with Lavanya she would take a few hours getting prepared just to leave her room...but then he thought to himself, "even if Khushi DID do that, i wouldn't care..."

Arnav looked at Khushi who had drippy, wet hair sticking to her neck...yes her saree was beautiful, she looked stunning in gold, but now, he just wanted to touch her hair and kiss her neck...he moved behind her as she was putting on her bangles...he stood close to her, his chest pressing against her back...Khushi let out a light gasp that didn't go unnoticed by Arnav...he swept her hair to one side and graced her neck with light kisses...his eyes meeting hers in the mirror as his lips sent tremors throughout her body...she put on her last bangle and quickly moved away and ran out of the room...Arnav grinned with delight at how his presence was now affecting Khushi ...

Khushi was practically running into the kitchen when she almost ran into Payal..."Khushi!? What happened?" ...

"Oh, nothing Jiji...lets go and prepare food..."

Anjali met Arnav at the bottom of the stairs..."Chote...He...he still hasn't returned...i am getting worried for him..."

Arnav was not concerned for Shyam in the least, "Di, just enjoy your day, don't concern yourself with..."
"How can i not be worried!? He's not at all contacted me! You are furious with him! And he is acting strangely!" she was starting to get very heated and tried to reason with her again, "Look Di, you said you'd trust me, so you need to try to put him out of your mind for today!"...Anjali just stared widely at her brother...when a voice interrupted them...

"Arnavji!"

They both turned to see Khushi walking up to them...she approached Anjali and held her hand gently leading her to sit on the couch...

"Anjaliji, please don't worry yourself, think of your precious baby...i'm sure that wherever ... Wherever ... wherever he is...that he will come back to you soon..."

Arnav could hear Khushi's voice shaking, her anxiety obvious...but when Khushi looked up at Arnav she had anger in her eyes...

Anjali just thanked Khushi for her understanding and support...as other family members starting entering the room and started distracting Anjali, Khushi gave Arnav one more angry glare and stormed off ...

Arnav chased her to the kitchen ...and saw her flustered and fidgety...

"Khushi..."

"You said you wouldn't tell her!"

"I didn't tell her anything...But i can't have Shyam threatening you so i HAD to tell her something..."

"What!? What did you tell her!?"

"well she said that she already felt that something wasn't right, so i just agreed and told her to avoid him..."

Khushi stared at him. Processing everything that Arnav just told her.

"And what happens when he returns? There are guards here? What will they do?"

"Khushi, the guards are here to inform me of when Shyam arrives here, and then they are going to just observe him closely, and make sure he doesn't go near...you..." he walked close to khushi to hold her as he knew what he said next might bring back some trauma..."i know Shyam sent that letter to you...i told the police that you were receiving threats...but i have remained true to my promise...i haven't told Di..."

"you didn't tell her?"

"No."

"you brought all the security her to protect...m..me?"

"yes."

"You care about what happens to me...?"

"more than i care about what happens to anyone else..."

"why..."

"Because i love you Khushi..."

They stood looking into each others eyes...when

A voice interrupted them... "Excuse me Mr. Raizada?"

"Yes officer?"

"Your Jijaji Shyam has been sighted driving in this direction...we assume that he is on his way here and will be prepared to keep lookout for your family and especially Mrs. Raizada."

"what about me?" Khushi said nervously...

Arnav held back his laughter. He shook his head and whispered in Khushi's ear..."Sweetheart...YOU are Mrs. Raizada..."

Khushi just lifted her focus to him and blushed, considerably embarrassed.

Arnav just exchanged a nod with the guard as he returned to his post.

"he...is going to be here...again..." Khushi said nervously...and Arnav kissed her forehead saying...

"yeah well...SO WILL I..."

And the second he said that, Shyam came through the front door...with 5 of his business colleagues...Anjali, Mami, Payal and Nani had gone upstairs so Akash welcomed them and informed them the reason for the guards..."there has been some threats aimed at my Bhai's wife so he has posted security guards here..." Akash looked at Shyam when he spoke...Shyam looked calm. This unnerved Akash and motioned them all to sit in the lounge...Akash quickly went to find Arnav..."Bhai, Jijaji has returned, with business partners saying they need to do their work here for the afternoon..."

"Khushi, stay here while i handle this..." and Akash and Arnav headed to the next room...once they were out of sight...Khushi returned to her chores...but when she turned she walked into someone...that same officer who spoke to them earlier..."Mrs. Raizada. Can you come with me please."... Khushi didn't know what to say, "uhh, my...My husband is in the next room with Shyam so i can't be in any danger"...she started to say..."if you value your husband's safety, then you will come with me..."

Khushi's heart started to thud...she took a step back only to have a hard hand brutally grab her wrist and pull her forward..."don't make a sound Mrs. Raizada...my boss has told me not to harm you...but if you push me...then..." and the man started to run his hand down her cheek...

She flinched away in disgust..."don't touch me...i will scream! I will!!"

"no need...i will let you go...this was just a warning...to show you...and your husband that Shyam is able to get to you, even if it's not personally...cause who will believe your husband...? Since shyam is sitting innocently in the other room..." the man started laughing sickly...Khushi saw a knife on the kitchen bench...she slowly moved, reached for the knife...but caught it on the opposite end...the man saw her grab the knife and he ripped it from her hand, slashing her palm triggering shots of pain through her... seeing this, the man grew furious..."what have you done! Now my boss will kill me!!! I was under orders NOT to mark you, just to scare you! You bloody bitch!"

Khushi was now crying in pain as she watched the man run out of the kitchen...She clutched her hand accidently smearing blood on her other palm...she looked at her hands in horror as she remembered her dream where her hands had blood on them...She began feeling off balance, stepped back tripping and started to fall...

Arnav and Akash entered the opposite room...Shyam gave a devious smile to Arnav..."This house is not available for any type of meeting today. So i will kindly ask you all to leave. Now." and Arnav began to stride away..."But saale saab... I need to work somewhere while i'm so ill..." his voice practically dripped with sarcasm...Arnav's gaze on Shyam could pierce through stone..."I said. NO. All of you leave. NOW." and with that Arnav left to return to Khushi...

As he approached the kitchen, he saw a figure running past the window...he got alarmed and walked faster to where he left Khushi...he saw her...saw her trip and start to fall..."Khushi!" he called out to her...and within two strides he was behind her holding her...his heart bashing his chest apart..."oh my God are you okay.." he stared intently at her face...she had continuous tears streaming down her cheeks, all she could say was , "you caught me..." as she looked down at her hands...his eyes followed hers and what he saw made his heart quit beating...quickly sitting grabbing a towel from the kitchen he wrapped her injured hand tightly to stop the bleeding, she hissed in pain...he felt helpless, he felt enraged...he quickly got some strong painkillers and made her take them...all the while, holding her, touching her, caressing her, reassuring her...after about 10 minutes once the pain had lessened, he held her close and told her to put her head on his shoulder and close her eyes...she looked at him, her eyes had terror in them, but not from him, from whatever evil just happened..."please trust me Khushi...please..." she slowly did what he asked and he held her arm firmly and proceeded to clean and bandage her hand...she tried to pull away once, but his breath on her hair sedated her...He yelled for servants to clean up as there was blood on the bench and floor...just looking at it made him feel as if his very soul was being strangled...

Arnav lifted her gently and carried her up to their room...she was calmer, but that was due to the medicine...he had to know what had happened...was it an accident? Was it intentional? Did she try to hurt herself? "no" he said to himself...he softly sat her on the bed...

"Khushi...? Khushi, how did this happen...can you tell me sweetheart?"

"the security guard." she said, barely audible

"what?"

And she retold what she could remember the man saying...

Once she finished Arnav stood up, his anger now beyond control..."HE DID THIS! SHYAM IS THAT MAN'S BOSS!" his voice booming and making the foundations shake..."He's a lawyer! OfCOURSE he'd know some dirty cops!" He continued to march across the room in frustration and fury...stopping as soon as he heard her broken, choked up cry..."A..Ar..Arnavji..."

He bolted to her and let her hold onto him as he kept repeating to her

"I'm sorry, so sorry i wasn't there..."

"but you were there..."

"not soon enough..."

"you caught me...i...i didn't fall..."

Khushi looked up at him and said..."Thankyou..."

Overcome by his fear of losing her, he pressed his lips on hers...he was shaking with worry and alarm...she lifted her non-injured hand and ran it through his hair and along his neck trying to calm him...their pressure on each other's lips got harder as their need to console each rose higher...the kiss evolved from urgent to ravenous...His hands drifted...one lightly circled her throat as he idly swept his thumb back and forth over her pulse point...the other hand smoothly encircled her waist holding her to him.

Shyam harshly slapped the crooked guard as he screamed, "You did WHAT!? She was hurt!!? I can't afford to be concerned about you right now! Because the second part of my plan is about to unfold..."
