Everyone was quite in the car and Sneha uncomfortably looked at them, wondering what to do about the tension.
Sneha- ok guysā¦. Let's take a breakā¦. I'm hungryā¦. Let's halt somewhere please.
Shantanu- alrightā¦. I have to fill the tankā¦.. let me find a petrol pump.
After a while he pulled in at a car service stationā¦.. the girls went to the washroom to freshen up.
Shantanu- dudeā¦. It's 10 o clockā¦. We were suppose to reach Ahmedabad by now.
Amar- hmmā¦.. I knowā¦.. I spoke to Macci some time backā¦.. he said they were reaching Ahmedabad in an hour or soā¦.. they would wait for us at some restaurant there.
Shantanu- I guess you should drive nowā¦.. my lens are irritating meā¦. I'm having some trouble with the road lights.
Amar- sureā¦. No problemā¦.. you sleep for a while.
Shantanu- hmm
The girls joined themā¦.. Sneha handed the boys a packet of chipsā¦.. they ripped it open and emptied it in no timeā¦. The chips were the spicy ones and Amar looked around for some waterā¦. Shakti quietly handed him a can of coke, without looking at himā¦.. he smiled and sighedā¦. kabtak gussa rahegi mujhse?
Shantanu- Shaks, tum aage baithogi?... I really need some sleep for some time.
Shakti nodded and got in the front seatā¦. The others settled behindā¦. Amar got behind the wheel and looked at Shaktiā¦.. she had crossed her arms and was looking outside the window, still not ready to look at him.
After some time he looked over his shoulder to see that others had gone to sleepā¦. He looked at Shakti who was still looking outā¦. He wondered itni raat ko usko bahar itna kya fascinating lag raha hai?
He noticed she had sat up on the seat with her legs crossedā¦. He placed his hand on the gear stick and lightly brushed his knuckles on her sole of the footā¦. He felt her jumpā¦. But she dint look at himā¦.. he smiledā¦.. he continued to rub the back of his hand from her toes to the heelā¦. When his fingers grazed the center of her foot, her toes curledā¦. So she was ticklish thereā¦.. he inaudibly chuckled and continued to stroke the sensitive areaā¦.. he thought he heard her gaspā¦.. he looked over at herā¦.. her face was still turned to the other sideā¦.. but her hands were balled into tight fists in her lapā¦.. he smiled and spread his fingers and grasped the entire foot in his handā¦. he rubbed his thumb on her sole and gently kneaded the dorsum with his fingersā¦.. she slightly tilted her head back and moanedā¦.. hell!!... he hadn't known that a foot massage could be such a turn onā¦.. and the fact that she was allowing him to touch her was driving him nuts.
A car honked from behind making both of them jumpā¦. She reflexly straightened her legs and put them downā¦. Her breathing had laboredā¦.. she still kept looking outside the windowā¦.. Gosh!!... that felt so goodā¦.. wish he hadn't stoppedā¦..(frowned) wait a minute, I was the one to move awayā¦.. I should be glad I didā¦.. argh!!... I really have to get a grip of my head. (shut her eyes)
Amar- Shaks?
She dint replyā¦.. she wasn't sure she could look in those deadly eyes right now.
Amar- Shaksā¦.. I think we're lost.
She blinkedā¦.. was he talking about lost in each other?... she turned to him with a frownā¦. She watched his expression and realized the gravity of the situationā¦.. they were literally lost!!ā¦. She looked out of the window and back at him.
Shakti- what!!!... what do you mean by lost??... how did this happen?
Amar- I don't know.
Shakti- cant you figure out where we are?
Amar- I don't think so.
Shakti- (panicky) do you remember the way back??
Amar shook his head.
Shakti- (shriek) toh what do you know????
He shrugged.
Shakti- oh I don't believe this!!!... what happened to the 'Machos, always the leaders' men!!??
He mutely kept driving.
Shakti shut her eyes and took a deep breath to calm down.
Shakti- (at Amar) ok ok chaloā¦. Don't panicā¦.. let's figure something out.
Amar could have rolled with laughterā¦.. Don't panic??... who???... me or her??!!... he chuckledā¦. Shakti glared at him and slapped his shoulder.
Shakti- not funny Kunwar!!
Amar nodded but continued to giggleā¦. She shot him a fierce look.
She looked back at others.
Shakti- shouldn't we wake them?
Amar- (confused) kyun?
She rolled her eyes.
Shakti- God!!...yeh ladka khuch kaam ka nahi hai.
She turned and woke everybodyā¦. She quickly explained them what was going on.
Shantanu- (at Amar) dudeā¦.. pull asideā¦.. what's the point in going this way if we aren't sure if it's the right road.
Amar nodded and pulled the car to a stopā¦.. they all got down and looked around for any help they could find.
Alisha- it's past 12 o clockā¦. Ab kya help milegi?
Sneha- ya but we have to try naā¦.. (at Shakti) but how did this happen??... jab hum nikle the petrol pump se toh thik jaa rahe theā¦.. then where did we miss?
Shakti looked at Amarā¦.. and they both recollected their footsieā¦. Amar smirked at herā¦.. she quickly looked awayā¦.. Gadha!!... usko joke lag raha hai yeh sab?!!... Roll eyesā¦. but Amar dint miss the blush.
Shantanu- chodo na, Snehaā¦. What can be done about thatā¦.. let's decide what do we do now.
They all looked at each other with blank expressions.
Amar- okā¦. Let's go backā¦.. we try to find that petrol pump again.
Everybody groanedā¦.. it was getting chilly and they were already very tiredā¦. but they dint have any choice but to go back, instead of going on some unknown road.
They sat back in the carā¦.. Amar tried the ignition but the machine did not respondā¦. He frowned and kept tryingā¦.. still no responseā¦.. the damn car won't budge.
Amar cursed under his breath and looked at them with hopeless eyes.
