Shakti was fed up…. She had been trying to talk to Amar for the past 2 days now…. but all the time his phone was unreachable…. She lost track of the number of calls she made or number of texts she had sent, trying to get him to talk to her.

Few of her texts went like…….

Text 1- Kunwar, I know I hurt you…. I really dint mean any of it…. I'm so very sorry!

On the second day Shakti decided she would not bother any more…. Agar usse baat karni hogi toh ab woh try karega…jerk!!

On Day 4

Mukti called…..

Mukti- hey sis…. You good?

Shakti- yup darling…. And you?

Mukti- Shaks…. I gotta tell you something important….

Shakti- okk…. even i have to tell you something.

Mukti- alright but please don't be mad….. I know I should have told you this that day only but he asked me not to tell you.

Shakti frowned…. She was confused….

Shakti- Muks, who and what are you talking about?... can you please elaborate?

Mukti- I'm talking about Amar.

Shakti rolled her eyes…. Khud nahi baat kar sakta tha jo ab Mukti se baat karwa raha hai?... huh!

Shakti (straight face)- what about him?

Mukti- Shaks…. Saturday night he met with an accident while going home….

Silence.

Shakti's mind froze... Her heart stopped beating for a few seconds…. Accident??!! Saturday night?... that's when they had fought….. Oh God! what did he do??... she was panicking now….

Shakti- Mukti tell me everything properly… what happened?... how bad is it?... how is he?... where is he? (she was hyper ventilating)

Her eyes were filled with tears…. It's all my fault!!...why the hell did I fight with him?…. Ek baar bhi nahi socha ke usne itne time se reply kyun nahi kiya… I should have known…. Woh itna time mujhse baat na kare aisa ho hi nahi sakta…. oh god Kunwar, tumhe khuch bhi hua na toh main….

Mukti- (interrupting her thoughts)- Shaks!!... mujhe bolne toh do….

Shakti blinked back her tears…. She was losing her patience…

Shakti- hurry!!... tell me how is he….

Mukti- Relax!!…. He's fine…. He bumped his head really bad…. But thankfully there is no internal head injury…. It's just an external trauma… docs say he's good…. Nothing to worry at all….. And other than a few scratches here and there, our Gabroo jawan is absolutely fit.

Shakti's heart beats start to slow down a bit…. She closed her eyes…. Silently prayed…. thanking god…. She opened her hand which she hadn't realized she was holding it in a tight fist…. Her knuckles had gone pale…. She wiped the sweat from her forehead with the sleeve of her t-shirt…. She rubbed her hand all over her face when she realized, tears were streaming down her eyes…. She wiped them with the back of her hand…. Cleared her throat… and asked…

Shakti- (whisper) what happened? (She closed her eyes in anticipation of something bad)

Mukti- he's not really giving us any details about it…. All he said was that he was going home late on Saturday when a car hit his bike…. And the Macho Stud didn't have his helmet on.

Shakti opened her eyes…. They were moist again….. if only she had controlled her temper then… all this wouldn't have happened…. But she prayed again thanking god that he was fine.

Shakti- where is he?

Mukti- in the hospital.

Shakti started to panic again.

Shakti- What!!... but you said he was ok!... it's been 2 days now…. Why is he still in the hospital??

Mukti- arre baba he's under observation…. They just want to rule out any possibilities of a brain damage…. But I wouldn't be worried about that…. Brain damage hone ke liye, brain ka hona necessary hota hai. (giggled at her own joke)

Shakti- (annoyed) Not funny Mukti!!

Mukti- uuu…. Defensive hun?

Shakti- Muks please, I'm in no mood for teasing right now.

Shakti thought that if Mukti is joking about it then it really would be just a routine observation, coz she would have told her if things were bad…. She was annoyed at herself…. She wanted to yell!!... I'm sick!!!... I deserve to feel this ridiculous.

Mukti- ok ok sorry.

Shakti- I want to talk to him…. Why can't I get through his number?

Mukti- arre haan… he said he broke his phone in the accident and his sim card also got destroyed…. But he has some alternate number for the time being…. I'll send it to you in sometime.

Shakti- No!... you are sending it to me now!

Mukti- Alright alright meri maa.

Shakti- and I want you to go and meet him.

Mukti- sweetheart, I already did….what did you think?... He's my friend too you know (giggled)

Shakti- ya well, whatever!…. Now go and meet him on my behalf…

Shakti gave a disgusted look…. I couldn't be possibly jealous of Mukti that she got to meet him…. She shook her head…. Argh!

Shakti- I still can't believe you all dint tell me about this earlier…. I don't like you so much right now, Muks!!

Mukti- awww (puppy face) sorry na Shaks…. He asked me not to get you worried…. But then I felt it wasn't fair that only you dint know about it.

Shakti- it's ok…. I'm glad you told me now…. Ok now let us go meet him.

Mukti (confused)- Us?... who us?

Shakti- you and ME!!
