Amar- Shakti kahan hai?

Sneha- (raised eyebrow) she's getting ready…. Why?

Amar- (irritated) ab tak??

Sneha- for your kind info Amar, she's a girl….. she has the full right to take her time. (giggled)

Amar groaned….. weird girls!!... just then his eyes went to the door….. there she was….. walking in the hall like a goddess….. wearing a very hot and sensuous Saari….. he scanned her from head to toe and back….. if he'd thought she looked beautiful in a salwar kamez, then right she looked absolutely stunning…… the perfectly draped body fit saari….. the bare midrib flaunting her curves…... the backless blouse held in place with strings/doris….. her hair tousled sexily on her shoulders….. those smoky eyes, rosy cheeks and lush lips….. she took his breath away….. even though he dint look around, he could sense all male eyes of the room on her….. hell, he was sure even the girls were gawking at her….. some with envy and some with appreciation….. His fingers twitched….. he longed to be close to her….. to touch her….. just then she looked up and their eyes met….. and he thought he had died and gone to heaven!!

Shakti was adjusting her Saari, making sure she dint trip over it….. she walked in the door and looked up….. her eyes automatically locking with his….. she watched his eyes roaming all over her….. she trembled involuntarily….. she dint have to touch her cheeks to feel for the blood rush….. if just his eyes on her made her so fussy, then she was terrified to walk in.

Well, she thought he dint look too bad either….. in his exquisitely cut and perfectly fit, Armani….. he looked devastatingly handsome….. one shouldn't be allowed to look so bloody good….. especially not him….. and that too, when he had the full ability to make her insides turn over.

Palki- Shaks…. Where have you been?

She was interrupted from their staring session and she quickly looked away.

Shakti- sorry maam….. thoda late ho gaya.

Palki- acha thik hai, ab chalo….. we'll start with the ring ceremony soon.

Shakti- alright

She walked pass him….. she peeped from the corner of her eyes but she did not wait for him to make any move towards her….. she joined the girls, who were standing a little further away.

Shakti- hey….. hi guys.

Samantha- oh gosh Shaks….. you look so hot.

Priyanka- ya really Shaks….. you look great.

Alisha- kiska katal karne ka irada hai?

They laughed.

Shakti- oh stop it guys!!... thank you….. you all look great too!!

She looked at Anjali…. She was in a very elegant dress….. ya fine…. Even her….. though she would never admit that out loud.

Amar could not get his eyes off Shakti….. he was spell bound….. Damn the woman was driving him to the edge!!

Archie- oh wow….. aaj Shaks khuch zyada hi hot nahi lag rahi?

Macci- haan yaar….. reminds me of the roop tera mastana look….. but she looks even better today….. damn sexy, man!

Amar turned around to glare at them.

Macci- (confused) what??

Amar- khuch nahi (snapped)

He saw Vinti introduce Shakti to some guys and one of them looked like, was trying to get a bit too overfriendly….. a pang of jealousy shot through him….. the guy stood close to her…. Actually, too close than necessary….. not so good for his pretty face….. only if he wished for some nice bashing….. Amar walked to them….. on the way picking up a glass of juice from a waiter's tray.

Shakti was sick of making polite talks and answering these guys who were bombing hundreds of questions at her….. She could have killed Vinti for this.

One guy, who's name she remembered to be Yash (fictional character) and who was also Vivek's cousin stepped close.

Yash- hey Shaks…. I hope you don't mind me calling you by the pet name….. I hear everyone calls you that.

Shakti- (smile) sure…. That's ok.

Yash- so?... should I get you anything to drink?... some wine maybe?

Shakti- no thanks….. I don't drink.

Yash was surprised to hear that.

Yash- never?

She remembered the time in New York when she was sloshed at Brad's friend's party.

Shakti- maybe a long time ago.

Yash- wow!!... that's rare….. and that too in your profession….. I'm impressed.

She frowned….. if she would have known him better she would have given him one back….. but she kept her tongue in check….. she just smiled at him.

Yash- fine…. Something non- alcoholic then?

Shakti- yes some juice should be good.

Suddenly she was in dire need to get rid of him.

Yash- got it….. be right back.

He walked away.

She sighed….. thank god!... she turned around and almost bumped into someone….. she looked up….. but that wasn't someone….. that was some 'ONE'!!... his big brown eyes smiling at her.

Amar- hi

Shakti- hi

Her voice sounded coarse and she quickly cleared it.

Amar- I heard you wanted some juice….. here.

He handed her the glass….. she smiled.

Shakti- thanks.

Amar- toh, woh champu kaun tha?

She frowned….. for a second she dint understand what was he talking about….. she looked in the direction he was looking in and realized he meant Yash.

Shakti- ohhh….. woh champu ka naam Yash hai….. Vivek ka cousin hai.

Amar- aur ab kya woh tumse rakhi bandhwane aaya tha?

She laughed.

Shakti- aise hi khuch.

He made a face and she laughed harder.

He was quiet….. mesmerized by her bubbling laughter….. she tossed her head back to get some strands of hair fallen on her face….. his hand unconsciously reached out to put it behind her ear….. her eyes widened and she took a step back….. she looked around hoping they were not in anyone's focus….. this would cause tongues wagging for months….. there was an awkward silence, in which she avoided his eyes.

She tried fishing for a conversation….. she looked him over.

Shakti- ache lag rahe ho.

Amar- oh common Shaks, tell me something I don't know. (wink)

Shakti rolled her eyes and turned to go away….. Amar held her arm.

Amar- where do you think you're going?

Shakti- if you haven't noticed it Kunwar, I'm consciously trying to avoid you. (grin)

She made it sound like a joke…. But they both knew how true that was….. he freed her arm.

Amar- thik hai….. jaao…. Par tum wapas idhar hi aayogi. (smirk)

Shakti- (grunt) sorry to break your bubble, sweetheart….. but that's not going to happen.

She smiled, turned and walked away.

She joined the girls who had now gathered around the stage for the ring ceremony….. she turned back once to watch him….. he was standing in the exact same spot with his arms crossed in front of him and his eyes on her….. damn that smirk!!!

The boys joined them too.

Anjali- Kunwar kahan hai?

Shantanu- arre abhi toh yahi tha?

Anjali looked around and spotted him.

Anjali- woh raha... I'll get him.

Shakti dint bother to look back….. or maybe it bothered too much to look back!

The ring ceremony began….. Pankti and Vivek were now on stage with the rest of their family.

She noticed that Anjali and Amar had not joined them yet….. she quickly looked back….. he wasn't standing at his place…. And neither could she see Anjali anywhere….. she looked around, grazing the entire hall.….. but she couldn't spot them….. where did they vanish??!!
