If in Dadimaa's hand she would have got them married the very next day as she didn't wanted Maan or Geet to change their mind, which actually had a high possibility. But pandit suggested the date after two weeks n it was also not that bad. She quickly did all the preparations with the help of Rajendra at the same time making sure that Maan n Geet don't get to know whom they are getting married to. Both were uninterested so it was not at all a difficult task.
They sat in front of fire practically feeling its burning sensation on their bodies as well as mind. It was happening, they were getting married though they both didn't want to but does destiny goes according to anyone's wishes. It has its own way of doing things n everyone has to follow that particular path laid down by one's fate.
The holy mantras were sounding like death sentence to him. He was sitting there in hope that it would finish soon while she sat there with her mind in some vacuum, dark n empty. She couldn't believe god could be so cruel setting her with this man when she was already married. But why was she having any expectation hadn't she already been disappointed numerous times? Perhaps there was no thing as god. It was just a medium to calm mind at tough times while in reality there is no one to hear n see you cry, she learned it the hard way n now was ready to do whatever others wanted because she was no more alive, death is not when soul leaves the body but when you looses the reason to live. There were no hope, no aspiration she was just a walking dead, a zombie.
The pandit asked her to forward her hand n Maan held it in his. Both their bodies jolted with the sudden touch. It was so familiar yet so unknown. They quickly withdrew their hands when the pandit asked them to; shrugging the feeling off as fast as it came, thinking of it as a coincidence or an illusion of their mind or something like that.
The whole ceremony went by without seeing each other's faces. Her eyes were downcast n he didn't wanted to see her, there was no need once done with this marriage shit, he decided to go his own way n leave her to her own. He won't ask her to quit living in KM but to not live with the view of him as her husband. That was his master plan. Only to increase the intensity of upcoming shock he didn't even saw her face at time of filling her mang, just lifted the veil a bit n placed the sindor not even bothered if it was grazing the right place.
Finally the ordeal ended n they went to KM from the mandir where the marriage was organised in a very simple manner. She was taken to a room, their room in other words n now she sat there in middle of the bed. If Maan had planned everything she was also no less. Last few days of her life went by in thinking of all the potential ways to deal with this marriage thing because no way her heart was going accept anyone as her husband, though it was hollow, had no space for someone.
The room was dark n decorated the typical SR style, flowers n candles but what was the use, the flowers had lost their colour for her long back n the candles couldn't bring back the light in her murky life.
She heard the door being opened n revised her speech in her brain.
Daddy... You there? Geet's mind did a flip flop. Instead of heavy steps she heard a soft, croaky voice n it made her turn her head to find the source.
Daddy is that you?? Geet saw the world's cutest girl, nearly three rubbing her eyes as they adjusted to the scantily lit room. The girl was crying n there was a yellow stuffed puppy in her hand.
The girl's eyes widened. You ghost? She asked her doe shaped eyes sparking with amazement.
Geet shook her head in a reflex n the girl took tiny steps ahead towards the bed. Placing the puppy aside she climbed the bed after 2-3 attempts. Her small hand rested on Geet's knee as she stood on the bed before her, slowly picking the veil up. Geet vision cleared as there was no veil to constrict the view n the girl indeed cutest thing.
The girl kept her tiny palm on Geet's cheek. You pretty. The small girl said sucking her upper lips, amazement written over her beautiful face. Geet couldn't help herself from smiling seeing the cute doll calling her pretty.
I am so sorry Bhabhi. Annie said coming into the room.
Let's go Jia. You should be asleep by now.
No. I want Daddy. Jia said as her bottom lip trembled.
No babes, you come with me n will watch a movie. Annie said.
Princess movie? Her face immediately lit up,
Yeah princess movie. Annie covered Geet's face again with the veil.
Otay. Jia stretched her hands for Annie to pick her up.

Oh yeah me forgot. Jia hit her forehead with her little plam n grabbed her puppy. Come fuffy.
Annie picked Jia up n left the room whispering all the best to Geet while she was thinking that her husband already had a daughter n her uncle didn't even considered telling her that. It was not like she minded, she didn't mind anything because she didn't felt anything anymore which was a blessing for someone so unfortunate like her. At least she didn't had to go through that pain now.
The door closed n was opened again after sometime. She heard the weighty footsteps n strangely she knew who it was, her alleged husband.
The awkward silence prevailed for sometime but it was so suffocating that it felt like years of colossal misery.
I am already married. Geet burst out, unable to breathe in the strangling silence. It's not legal though n we are not together now but I still... I mean I cannot give you what you want. I mean I... She fought to let out the right words, all her practice with the speech went in drain at the moment. I cannot be your wife.
She cleared out ignorant if he was listening because he wasn't. How could after hearing that voice? The same voice which echoed every time he closed his eyes n every time he opened them. How could he not recognize that voice? But he just wished that it was only his imagination.
He walked to her n her heart paced faster if he was going to force her. Didn't she make herself clear? He sat in front of her picking the veil up to find the face that haunted him day n night. But how could it be real or was it just a dream?
Geet... He whispered touching her cheek making sure of the realism.
Hearing the same voice n recognizing the touch, she pulled her thick lashes up to get the biggest shock of her life.
