Pandora's Box was a beautiful love story- felt very much like reading an Indian M&B. Loved the romance, the twists and turns, the emotional roller-coaster, and I cried reading about the massacre.
Somehow, we were brought back into time to understand the sufferings during that difficult period of disdain... but despite the pain, trials and tribulations, Arnav and Kushi's love survived, and emerged victorious...
Would have liked a beautiful ending to a beautiful, beautiful story, but you just cannot force someone to do something that they do not want to do, can you?
I can understand the feelings and thoughts of a writer who's story holds a very special place in their hearts. But one logic comes to mind- famous authors all around the world have experienced being told to do this and that to their stories by their editors in order to get them published... do they get offended by it and throw their manuscripts into the garbage? or tell the Editors to go to hell? No. They grumble, and then, they edit. Why? Because at the end of the day, they know that they have a gem of a story that must be told and if by editing bits of this and that ensures them the opportunity to do so, then it just needs to be done.
We must also consider something else. Justice needs to be done to the characters that a writer brings to life and gave so much thought to- they have been given names, characters and emotions- they are alive, although fictional. Through them, we, the readers, felt something- an emotion, a feeling so deep that we laughed when they laughed, cried when they cried and felt when they felt...
Wouldn't it only be fair to the characters and those who shared their journey, to be given some sort of closure? Just as for every birth, death is certain, for every beginning to a story, there simply must be a THE END to it.
Sometimes, we just must see the bigger picture and fight battles worth fighting. Or we end up winning the battle, but losing the war...
Just an honest opinion from one who truly respects and admires literary talents, and hopes to continue reading many more exceptional FFs.
Nevertheless, thank you for writing a most memorable and touching story, Munchy.
