Chapter Five ---- Healing My Heart

'No Sonia... I only love you and that is it. I love you Sonia!' Said NK with high pitch of sound as if his life depends on what he would be saying now. Kushi felt as if the ground just shook beneath her, a sharp pain was running through her body as if a electric current being pass through her. She had loss the control over herself as her inner soul wanted to come out screaming. She wanted to shout, cry, scream, scold at NK, more than ever answers to her questions, but was not able to. She felt as if her body has frozen, her feet been dragged into the soil and stuck, not able to move. Slowly as second pass by her body start reacting. Eyes filled with tears and was rolling down her cheeks, the pale skin as if she was a walking gost, her knees felt weak, she could no longer hold it. She ran away, she felt embarrased, she felt vulnurable, she just wanted to escape from this nightmare and run as fast as she could and away from everything. Her heart was pounding, sweat droplets were forming on the side of her face. All those memory came rushing back to her, she felt as if her whole world came to a hold. She ran where her legs took her, she didnt bother thinking where she was going she just wanted to escape, but at the same time she knew no matter how hard she try she wont be able to run away from her errupting volcano inside her heart but still she ran. Her hair flew against the wind, the cold wind was nothing comparing to the boiling body Kushi had, her bag swaying to every direaction making it difficult, tears streaming down and hicupping with tears. Kushi's hand reach the jacket pocket as she took out the bus pass, seen the first comming bus towards her she knew where she should go, the only place she thought that can help her. Showing the bus bus pass to the driver after bus stop in front of her, she went storming into the bus. Tears, body aches, pain and most of all broken heart.

Throughout the long bus drive the only thing Kushi can do was staring at the raining outside through the window and lost in her thoughts as tears came streaming down. As the stop she being waiting for finally came she made herself out. The forecast rain was finally pouring down but Kushi didnt even care how drenched she got, the pressure of the rain droplets were so hard that it hurt when it felt on you but it wasn't painful enough for her to feel comparing to the trauma she was going through. Her brain knew where to go and her legs took her to the destination. People were rushing to find a place where they will be secured from the harsh weather. While everyone walk away Kushi walked opposite and on the process hitting some people, but she didn't care about the draggers they were giving her as she hugged herself finally breaking down. As she reach her destination she looked around to make sure if anyone was around. It was looking the same as it looked two years ago, the same pond but just the changing seasons and the faded color of the designs, while rain droplet fell into the water creating their own patterns. Kushi could no longer hold herself together anymore she fell on her knees in front of the pond, shutting her eyes trying hard to stop the tears streaming down but no use, she was getting soak but she didn't care all she can do was to be their like a lifeless vurnable girl who lost in love. She hold on to the solid pond to support her weak body. The only things she can see behind those closed eyes were the the memories of him, the stranger who lost his love at the very same place, his retieiring back and NK's word echoing in her ears while pinning her like pins. She laid there holding on to the pillar while the rain washed over her.

There was a continues light knock on the front door, Madhumathi's eyes darted at the clock on the wall and the pouring rain outside. Questions were running in her mind, wondering who it might be as Shashi have also gone to work and the only person she was expecting was her 'sankadevi' but she knew due to this weather its not going to be her. Her thoughts were interrupted by the last knock while she hurried to the door. As she open the front door she was shocked, to see her darling daughter drenched from head to toe, her hair and belongings were all messed up while eyes were red and swell up. Madhumathi instantly pulled her in by holding on to her elbow. 'Haye.. what happened to you? Why did you come now in this rain, pagal hogayi ho ka?' and the corncern mother continue to fire question at her daughter. However Kushi's weakness was not gone unnoticed by her mother as she caught Kushi doozing off without balance, the glimpse of her weak and pale body caught Madhumathi's attention and as she slowly reach to her daughter, but before that Kushi collapse on to the wall nearby unconsciously 'Kushi!!!'

Its being almost a week now after the horrible incident that changed Kushi's life. Kushi who been ill for past few days after getting high temperature that didnt went down Kushi was put on complete bed rest.

'We should come with a plan!' said Muskaan walking to the right, 'and a plan that is solid and will work' replied Payal walking to the left. The march between Muskaan and Payal continued while Kushi who was on the bed with her duve up to her chin just watch from left to right and right to left. This march has been going for about 10 minutes and the place its happening was at Kushi's bedroom. 'We have to make Kushi smile' said Muskaan in a very attentive mood while slapping her fist of hand on to her palm. '...and it should not be a hard plan cause my concentration has gone shopping' said Payal as if she was complaining while throwing a part of her hair to the back. 'Seriously you guys.. stop making me get a headache now... please!' said Kushi '...I am fine and happy... see..' continued Kushi giving a weak smile. 'NO!' said Payal taking a seat on the bed next to Kushi 'No your not, dont hide it from your sister, okay hide it from your sister but never hide it from your friends...' said Payal almost in one breath. 'If I see that NK guy again I am gona...' start Muskaan but she got interupted mid way '...No!' said Kushi 'Its not his fault... it's my fault I thought he likes me... I misread his friendliness to something else.. it was me who thought he liked me more than a friend.. yes it will be hard for me to forget him and move on... but I think there is no other option left is there... this is life Muskaan people come into your life and sometimes some people get promotions to be a closer part of your ife and sometimes some just get left behind... but I learnt a lesson and that is to never fall in love again... I might be being harsh on myself but I dont want to go in that road of love again... he will be my frined and I'll still have a soft corner for him but I dont want to break another relationship and I dont want to be the reason... ' Kushi finished off with her sentence and looked to see both Payal and Muskaan looking at her with concern. 'I am fine guys! you cant expect me to recover soon now! But I am fine.. I don care about him... he is past dudette!' said Kushi smiling. Though she knew its going to be hard for her to do that, it wont be easy for her to forget him she got so close to him in this few months that she have no idea what she is going to do but all she knows is that she have to let him go and it for her own good. Maybe he was not the one for her, she let out a tired smile hoping that will be enough to convince the two best friends of her. Kushi search for an answer on Muskaan and Payal faces but they were blank. But Kushi knew they didnt believe her as they clearly know how hard it is to let go of someone after building too much hope around them. 'See its just being a week and I have start moving on, I have to... if he have a girlfriend already that means he didnt liked me from the begining and its not like we both love each other but cant be together... that will be something I cant handle even if I want to...' she explained, hoping for some miracle to happen and her friends to stop worrying about her, because she is not a girl who like to give others any worries and is very good at keeping things to herself and suffer them. 'You sure we dont have to kill NK?' asked Muskaan with a doubt on her face 'OF COURSE NO!' said Kushi throwing her pillow at her with a smile and a smile errupt on Muskaan's innocent face too. 'Yah sis just let him go.. dont worth your tears..' said Payal smiling. After a minute of silent spreading across the room Payal suddenly spoke again. 'Shall I tell you what Akash told me this morning?! He was so cute!' said Payal excitedly. 'NO!!' scream both Muskaan and Kushi 'I am ill, I am told to rest' said Kushi putting the duve over her head. 'I need the toilet' said Muskaan quickly making an exit. Excited smile of Payal just vanished 'Oi! come back' said Payal running after Muskaan, after making sure they have gone Kushi put down the blanket with a smile on her face. After several of emotions playing on her face she heard a loud giggle of Muskaan and Payal. The impatient Kushi didnt want to miss anything and just flew across the room and to downstairs trumbling on things on the floor.

'Behena come quick I need your help..!' said worried Payal over the phone 'I would love to but how in the heaven's of world you think I'll find you in this crowd?' replied Kushi holding on to the phone tightly 'I dont know I just want you here, they are fighting AGAIN!' said Payal irritated. 'Oh not again!' said Kushi smacking her forehead while listening to the background voices as she can hear the vivacious Muskaan. 'OKAY drag both of them to the Indian community store...' said Kushi as an order turning on her leadership mode.

It was the anual biggest get together of Indian community from all over England. People came to this festival of get together from every city to the every corner of the United Kingdom and this was her first time even after nearly living her whole life in this country. She heard about it being loud and big by Payal herself but never thought it to be like this. It was a big mela itself. Game stalls everywhere people with different ages from young to old, youth and teenagers. Some were with their families and some were ganged up with their friends in groups. Ever since Kushi stepped into this big mela she saw guys were eyeing her while walking with her parents. But then who wouldnt turn their heads seen this beautiful angel, dress in light pink sundress which reach to her knee, she was also wearing short knee length white leggings underneath the dress just because she thought the dress was too short, on her feet she had simple strapped slippers on clutching on to her little feet. The spring has long gone and the summer was here while the sun beam on the center of the clear blue sky. Kushi step on to the green grass carefully while hearing to the various sounds of music from everywhere, old bollywood hits, new movie songs, bangara, you name it someone somewhere got it playing. She was about to walk to the destination she was suppose to when her phone rang again.

Looking at the caller Id her smile vanished but it soon replace with her usual smile 'Hello Mr NK' she said with a bit of happiness in her voice at the same time a bit of humour as she joke about with his name. 'There I am here now Kushi... only for you! cause you call me over' said NK from the other end of the phone reaching to the front door of the mela. Her smile erupt on her face even greater 'COOL! Where are you? I'll come' said Kushi excitedly 'well to be honest I have no idea... urm there is like a bangles store near the enterance.. thats where I am... does that help?' asked NK unsure '... anyway you wont be able to miss someone as handsome as me comon Kushi you must know that by now' continued NK while Kushi just roll her eyes shaking her head at the same time. 'Whatever Mr. Nandha Kishore, I will find you by hook or by crook' said Kushi giving a small evil laugh before ending the call. As she start going back to recieve NK and decided together they will go to find Payal and the rest, Kushi realised how many bangles store there might be but according to NK it was near the enterance which was on the other end of the huge ground, and in her head she was mentally prepared to make this long walk. She was more than glad her Amma wasnt here who have gone to meet their relatives otherwise she might have got told off a big time for taking so much effort in treating people good.

She was here, the store where NK gave her the description of but she cant find that handsome face of her friend anywhere. The store was quite big, different types of bangles with a huge range of beautiful designs, very eye catching bright colors and the simplest of the simple design to the most loud yet very pretty designs. Though Kushi isnt into all this beauty and jwellery stuff she was a girl afterall and couldnt help running her hand through them and trying them out to see if it goes well with herself. On the look out Kushi eyes captured a beautiful set of bangles. She took a long look at the detailing of the beutiful blue bangle set with silver and yellowish mixed together. It was beautiful indeed and when she wore it, it look even better, her milky white skin gave the extra beauty to it. As she smile to herself with a satisfaction and a decision to buy these for herself suddenly her body froze still as a sudden feeling of nervousness hit her inner feelings. The heartbeat was increasing as she felt someone from the back was looking at her direaction. This was no ordinary feeling, it wasnt like how she felt when thousands of people was looking at her but it was one single stare that she can feel was following her, she wasnt scared but she wasnt happy, the poor confused Kushi wasnt able to figure out what was going on. She turned to the direaction where she felt the stare was coming, but as she turned she cant find anyone looking at her in perticular, there were many people in the store, but many girls with their boyfriends or male friends looking through the beautiful bangles but one figure caught her eye. He was standing alone was without any female company, suddenly forgetting about her weird feelings, a question came into her mind of what is a guy doing in this store alone, but quickly wiping that off from her head as its not any of her buisness she look back at the bangles that caught her heart. As a satisfied smile lay on her face she felt someone's presence close to her and soon after that his male strong hand held onto her shoulders as it sat deeply on to her soft skin.
