Arnav scrutinized her perfectly shaped features, making her feel all the more giddy. There was an uncomfortable silence that had prevailed between the two. Only 6 months back had he thought that this would never come into his life, and that love, fascination, and dreams never existed. There was nothing like destiny that played a role in his life, because he apparently believed in writing his own destiny, but from the day, the first time, she had fallen into his arms, she had charged the ions in his body. He wanted to stick to her, hold on to her fragile form, but he could clearly see the horror in her eyes that he caused, and today as she sat next to him, he saw not that horror in her eyes, but contentment of him being around her, however her body shivering in the same way as it had back at that day at Sheesh Mahal.

Khushi felt her self uncomfortable under his heated gaze, not that she did not want him to look at her, but the way he looked at her now, it made her feel that somehow the bed would open up and take her away from that hot gaze of his. To divert her own train of thoughts, she looked at the side table again, the memories and confusion regarding the torn picture coming back to her. Her forehead immediately creased which did not go unnoticed by Arnav.

Ar: Spit it out Khushi! You know you can't hide things from me.

Khushi raised her eye brows, and looked at him straight in the eye giving him a non chalant confused look.

Ar: (clearing her confusion) what's on your mind?

Kh: What are you talking about? I have nothing on your mind.

Ar: Khushi, stop lieing okay?

Kh: (a sign of defeat on her face) I wasn't really thinking anything all that important. It's just this fear of handling so much of happiness. I never have received so much of it, I am scared I just might lose it.

She scanned his face, for signs of understanding but he remained quite, a smile playing on his face, which made her all the more confused.

Kh: It's like they all say, everything when at it's peak, apparently does have a downfall. I know this is the peak of my happiness; I just don't want it to go.

Ar: (keeping his hand on her left cheek) You know what? I will never let any harm come to you, your happiness shall always remain.

Kh: And yours? What if I am not able to handle your happiness?

Ar: Do you really, really think that you cannot handle my happiness? Let me confess to you one thing today, you are not only my wife, but my best friend too, a friend that I never had the will to make. You are the source of my happiness, and I trust you for bringing a smile on my face even in the hardest of adversities. You will, won't you?

Khushi nodded, smiling at him in the cutest of ways. If 6 months back she had prayed to her Devi Maiyan for this, to get this, then her prayers they were surely being listened too. Devi Maiyan couldn't have given her anything more perfect then Arnav Singh Raizada.

Ar: (smirking) So, Mrs. Raizada, should we start or are you going to spend the entire night talking about torn pictures and handling happiness?

Kh: (protesting) But I never did talk about any torn pictures!

Ar: You were thinking about that. Weren't you?

Kh: (surprised) How did you know that?

Ar: I know you better then you know yourself Mrs.Raizada. *pause* So shall we start?

Khushi lowered her gaze down blushing, as he smirked at her cute shy ways. He moved his body closer to her, that now there arms were rubbing against each other. Slowly, he removed the duppata that was covering her head and shoved it aside to the other side of the bed. With every movement of his , her breathe hitched, her movements still, letting him do whatever he desired to do with her tonight. Rising up his hands, he made his way towards her necklace, and moved his face closer towards her, his lips hovering over hers as he busily tried to open the latch of the necklace that bound it together from two sides, dropping hot kisses on her nape as he did so.

Making a distance between the two of them, he moved further away from her, disappointment of him being far away from her evident on her face which made a wide grin appear on his face. He was about to make his way towards the long dangling earings that hung from her ear, when suddenly the mood was destroyed by the ringing of his phone. He chose to ignore it at first, and continued with what he was previously doing, but the constant rings, made him frown his anger rising to no limits. He gave an apologetic look to her, to which she quickly responded, and urged him to receive the call.

Ar: (to the person on the other side of the phone, grumbling) Who is it?

Person on the other side: Rajesh.

Ar: (grumbling) What the..! How dare you call me at this time of the night?

Rajesh: I have very important news for you Sahab ji.

Ar: (angrily) I told you before, and I shall NEVER repeat this after today, call Sinha if there is any problem, NOT ME!

Ra: I have already called Sinha Sahab for about a dozen times now but he just wouldn't pick up. The news that I need you to know is very important Sahab ji.

Ar: (frowning) What is it?

Ra: Your cabin is on fire!

Ar: (shocked) What!

Ra: Yes, Sahab ji there has been a fire at your cabin.

Ar: (hoarsely) What do you mean MY cabin? The rest of the building is safe?

Ra: Apparently yes. There has been no harm to any other part of the office, except for your cabin, which is in a terrible sorry state.

Ar: Fine I'll be right over.

Saying that he clicked off the phone, looking at Khushi, who was looking at him in an annoyingly sheepish manner. The only think she could make out of the entire conversation was that he was terribly upset over something and fuming with anger, not to forget that there was an emergency to which he had to attend to urgently. Before he could say something to her she had already spoken in favor of what he had to say.

Kh: Go. You can explain things to me later, don't worry about today, there's always a next time.

Upon hearing her words, his anger had vanished into thin air, which was replaced by a feeling of care and sincerity towards the love of his life. It was good to know that finally somebody in this whole wide world understood him, and always supported him no matter what the circumstances might be. He looked into her eyes for some more moments, until through the gestures of her eyes, she had assured him that she was perfectly fine, and he need not apologize for anything. Giving her a last look, he kissed her on the cheek, picked up his cell phone and dashed out of the room, heavily banging the door behind him, scaring the hell out of his poor wife.

_______________________________________________

As he sat in his SUV buckling up the seat belt, he looked at it intensely. Despite the serious situation he was in he couldn't help but think about the countless number of times, he had helped her buckle up this seat belt, making their faces come into contact like never before. Shaking his head violently, to remove her thoughts and focus on the current situation at hand, he furiously punched in the speed dial to Sinha's number.

Sinha: (sleepily) Who is it?

Ar: (hoarsely) Arnav Singh Raizada!

The blood inside Sinha immediately activated, making him shocked upon hearing Arnav's voice on the other hand of the phone. He looked at the wall clock in his room, rubbing his eyes furiously as he did so. Finally after moments, when his mind registered that it was 2:00 at night he grumbled, and looked at the phone still in his hand, mentally hitting his head for making Arnav wait for so long.

Ar: Sameer Shah Sinha! Reply dammit!

Sinha: (stammering) Yes Sir. I am there. What happened?

Ar: (furiously) What happened? Ask me what did not happen! Rajesh, the gate keeper had been calling you since the past hour, and you ask me what happened!

Sinha: But Sir..I..

Ar: Shutup! Next time you don't pick up your phone and you are FIRED!

Sinha: (quietly) Yes Sir.

Ar: Now listen to me get to the office right now!

Sinha: (surprised) Right now?

Ar: Did you not hear? I said RIGHT NOW!

Sinha: (stammering) But My formal..

Ar: Dammit! Come in your night suit, but I want you there in any case before I reach or else, trust me I'll make sure first thing in the morning I get your termination letter posted.

Clicking his phone off, he charged the engine, and sped off full speed towards the AR head office.

Sinha got up from his bed in giffy, straightened up his crumpled night suit, gave a last disapproving look of at it, Arnav's words coming back to him. Collecting his car keys, he dashed out of his room, mentally cursing Arnav for his hyper active emergencies, buckled his seat belt and paced up the road toward the AR head office.

_____________________________________________

He looked at his Rani Sahiba looking like a angel in her peaceful slumber, however, a angel, he thought, with a broken wing. He turned his head away from her current position, pulled out his cell phone and looked at Khushi's picture in it smirking to himself as he did so. He had heard the loud bang of the door in their room, and that, that meant victory. Arnav had left, he knew that, and she was alone in her room, probably sleeping or more likely waiting for his brother in law to come back.

A part of him wanted to go to her, and caress her soft creamy white skin, instead of his Sale Sahab, but the better half of him told him, to play his cards wisely. He could not let her know his identity just now, maybe later, when it would be the right time, when she would willingly come to him, to make her his, and then he would triumph over them all. The King of the cards, and she her queen, Arnav and Anjali the pawns that he would throw away, and the rest of the Raizada's, the pawns at his command. He felt proud of his brain. The way he had used it to the best of abilities, because right now there was nothing more than getting her that was important to him, nothing else mattered right now, but HER, Khushi Kumari Gupta. He flinched as he realized that her name had change, and as he spoke him his tongue spelled venom, Khushi Arnav Singh Raizada. But as soon as the smirk had vanished it had come back yet again, as he fantasized the day she would be called by his name, Khushi Jha. That day would be one of great satisfaction, great victory to him, but for that he had to work, to get the thorn in his path out, Arnav Singh Raizada.

_______________________________________________________

The car stopped with a halt, as he got out of it and walked towards the building, that he had built with his own hands. Every brick that made it, was laid by him, it had his life long work in it, and anything, be it anything happened to it, it would strike him right into the heart, crushing the barrier completely that had already been broken by his wife.

He walked towards it in all demeanors, giving a deadly look to the security guard as he stopped next to him, and before any questions scrutinized his face carefully. He could see signs of guilt; wash up his face making him all the angrier at the nonsense that had just been created. The security guard felt himself crumble to the ground due to Arnav's heated gaze on him. It had been years that he had been working here, since the first time this building was just something not big then a cobblers shop. With his own eyes, he had seen it turn into something that was beyond imagination, and before him his glare fixed on him, stood the creator of this marvel himself, Arnav Singh Raizada. He looked down at the ground beneath him, and for the first time, since the last few minutes, he caught sight of the funny clothing Arnav was dressed up in. The security guard raised his eyebrows in suspicion, and looked at him from head to tow, receiving 'I'll kill you' glares from Arnav as he did so. A puzzled expression was soon on his face, as his master stood before him, in a rust green sherwani, that looked fit for a groom to wear on his wedding day. The security guard mentally laughed at himself for having to think of something so crazy about him. He knew this man too well, to think he would ever marry, but as he racked his brain, their was just one conclusion that he managed to derive, this man was one formal dresser, he wouldn't go around wearing bridal sherwani at two at night.

Ar: (fuming with anger now) What are you looking at me like that?

Ra: (scared out of his wits) Sahabji, your clothes (soft giggle escaping his lips which immediately stopped as he got another one of Arnav's 'fired' glares)' I mean..

Ar: Shut up! Yes, I know what I am wearing, no need to laugh on that! (Pointing at the guard) You, yes you, destroyed my wedding night, by having me run away from my wife to attend to this fire havoc!

Rajesh looked at him completely dumb founded. This man had married? He had seriously married? Whom? Who was that poor damsel in distress that managed to compromise her entire life, to stay in hell? Who could the helpless girl be?

As all this maddening conversation was going on, Sinha pulled up his car, his knees shaking with fear, at seeing Arnav standing there, shouting the hell of his anger out at the shaky security guard. He could see the delirious condition the security guard was in, making him fear of his own future, and the encounter that he was just about to have with this monster. He was going to the lion, without food; there was no guarantee of returning back safe.

Sinha approached Arnav who was busy grumbling over the fact that the security guard had spoiled his wedding night. Before Sinha called out to Arnav, he too looked at his odd clothing, and that is when it clicked to him, that earlier that night he had gotten married, along with his fellow brother Aakash, with one of their ex- employees and his favorite colleague Khushi Kumari Gupta. Apparently due to promising his wife, for a dinner he hadnt attended the wedding it, and was at peace for not hearing Arnav's voice haunt his ears for the an entire day. He had gotten the shock of his life that day, when Arnav had publicly called her by his last name, and declared her as his Mrs.

(Refer to PART 13 of Season One ' Pre-marriage for Arnav's complete proposal to Khushi for marriage)

That had been someday of ultimate surprises, as only after a short while, he had seen the girl walk down his cabin arm in arm with him, their faces glowing with happiness. In years had he seen him smile for the first time ever. Her show of bravery that day had compleely astounded him. He couldn't really imagine anybody torturing themselves by spending her entire life with him, but she had done that, he had no idea why, but one thing was clear, she seemed happy about it, and he too was different around her. This made Sinha wish, for her to be around to handle his uncontrollable anger, she seemed to be having some kind of mesmerizing effect on him, which him forget everything, his anger vanishing into thin air. For only this, and nothing else, Sameer Shah Sinha, saluted the bravado of Khushi Kumari Gupta.

Arnav turned around bumping in to Sinha who was standing barely standing an inch behind him. He looked at him with intense fury, immediately scaring the remaining shards of confidence from Sinha.

Ar: SINHA! Where the hell have you been? Did you not get me clear on the phone that you were supposed to be here, before I get here?

Si: (stammering) Sir..actually..I..

Ar: Shut up at once, and come along with me inside, we need to check out what damage has been done. (passing a glare at the security guard) Because he apparently does not know what really caused it, except that he took the responsibility of calling the fire brigade and having the fire soothed down. (taunting) Thank you Mr. Rajesh Kapadia, Thank you, I really appreciate your services.

The security guard, caught the glare Arnav looked at him with and sarcasm that his words had been molded in, immediately fearing for his dear job. If this man was anything, Rakshas was the word.

Si: (confused) Damaged? What kind of damage? (Sniffing the air) Has there been a fire?

Ar: Sinha, you are just hopeless! (Dragging Sinha by the arm) Come inside now, there is no time for explanations; I need to get back home too.

Sinha gave him a flabbergasted expression and walked inside hesitantly, with Arnav literally dragging him off his feet, and he pulled him inside to where his cabin lay in a completely devastated state.

Si: (stammering) This..this..how..did..this happen?

Ar: (choking) Sinha! Stop asking me questions!

Si: Sir I mean..this is bad news.

Ar: (fuming now) Tell me something that I don't know dammed!

Si: Sir, the hard copy for tomorrows meetings were in your cabin. By now they are going to be dust, what are we going to do tomorrow?

Ar: How many times have I told you people to keep the soft copy saved, until the meeting is over? We do have a soft copy of the presentation do we?

Si: Yes, yes, sir its in Preeti's laptop.

Ar: So the first thing in the morning, REMEMBER the first thing in the morning, you call Preeti and get the hard copies for the meeting, and everything prepared in the conference hall before I come.

Si: But Sir, your cabin, how are you going to work?

Ar: You do not need to worry about that! Just do as I say! *pause* Now come on, cover your mouth and come inside, we need to see the amount of damage that has been made.

Sinha looked at Arnav dumbfounded. The last thing he could find in his night suit was a piece of cloth to cover his mouth. Where was he supposed to get one. Arnav looked at Sinha, not being able to understand and covered his own mouth with a handkerchief that had been kept in by Anjali in his sherwani. Sinha kept looking at Arnav with the most innocent expression on his face. Arnav looked around and teared off a piece of the burned curtain which was suitable enough for Sinha to cover his mouth on temporary basis. Arnav gave it to Sinha his glare fixed on his thick headed brain, and gestured him to follow him inside.

The cabin that once use to be marveled for its architecture and finesse in grandeur now lay in crumbles, the accessories of the things, indecipherable, everything in a hap hazard state, and most disappointingly the man with his dreams, who entered this office, was in the most awkward of outfits, fury all over his face at seeing his spick and span office turn blacker than soot. The air inside the room was concentrated with carbon monoxide, constricting the breathing of the two man who profusely coughing walked inside, stumbling in their steps, as bits of furniture in tatters lay here and there, blocking their swift path of movement. Arnav rubbed his eyes, with his fingers to clearly make out the terrible state of his cabin, and looked around to see the damage done, mentally calculating the money that would take this place to get back to how it was.

Sinha looked at the cabin in a daze as that of Arnav, and suddenly led out a shout, which evidently seemed like as if his mind had clicked on to something important.

Ar: Sinha! What the hell! Stop howling!

Si: Sir..I ..I just remembered that..the original insurance paper are in your cabin!

Ar: WHAT! My cabin? But they were supposed to be in Preeti'c cabin!

Si: Actually, they were sent to your cabin just yesterday, when you didn't come.

Ar: Who the hell told you to send them over?

Si: (quietly) you.

Ar: Shutup! But when I was not here, how could you have them deposited in my cabin! *pause* They must be in shards by now, if you left them on the table!

Si: Erm..Sir..I didn't leave them..on the table.

Ar: (shouting) Then where are they?

Si: (pointing towards a rack of drawers which was now covered with black dust) I kept it in them.

Ar: Go get them quick! While I look around for anything else that might be important.

Sinha scrambled towards the end of the room, bumping into things as he went, and finally making his way, roughly opened the drawers, the contents inside coming to his view one by one frantically searching for the correct file.

Arnav on the other hand, walked towards his desk, which was almost out of sight now, the furniture burned and everything else in a terribly sorry state. As he bends down, to recover the remaining contents present in the drawers of the desk, his sharp eyes caught sight of a picture that lay on the floor, covered with layers of black dust. As he cleared the dust away with his hands, he looked at the familiar of his wife, and gaped as he realized the place it originated from. The same picture he had in his room, framed, was there in his cabin too. Two days back he had found that picture torn, by two halves, and here again in his hand was the piece of the similar picture ripped apart in the same way, the other half lost.

Keeping the picture right at where his heart lay enclosed by his rib cage he scrambled on his knees, making his sherwani look ever the more filthy, and put his palms on the soot covered tiled ground, looking for the other half of the picture. After a merry twenty seconds, his palm touched slippery photographic paper. Losing no time he cleared off the awful particles of dust from the picture to reveal the other half of the picture which had him standing perfectly stout smiling half his arm as it was present in the other torn part. He joined the two parts together to make the picture he so loved, and as Sinha's foot step grew nearer h tucked the picture in his sherwani pocket, got up, dusting of the particles that were rigidly stuck to his sherwani and acted as if looking at his desk.

Si: (between coughs) Sir. I got the file and thank God it is in perfect condition.

Ar: Fine. Get going out of hear, this place is suffocating me.

Both the men, left the room, and went on outside for the few initiating seconds gasping for fresh air. When they had both gained enough air to keep them standing long, Sinha spoke up.

Si: Who could have done this?

Ar: How do you expect me to know that!

Si: Sir, I mean, it's clear after finding the insurance papers, that it couldn't have been something to damage our business. Leave alone the fact that specifically your cabin was targeted and not the entire company. As far I can make out of it, the insurance company would have nothing to with it, as having the insurance paper we can rightfully claim our right over the money. To my best guess, it not business that someone was after, but you.

Ar: What nonsense! I know I have rivals, but all of them, be it anybody, is after my MONEY not me. What would anybody have to do with me at 2:00 at night, when we all know that I was getting married today! If I was the sole target it would have targeted me in the marriage hall not here.

Si: But Sir, there is no other logical explanation that I can derive out of it, this fire, has not caused us any loss, as we can recover the money from the insurance company.

Ar: I don't know what to make out of all this. That dammed security guard must know what caused this fire. Let's go question him.

_________________________________________

Khushi sat on the bed, tired of the weight of the jewellery and heavy bridal wear. It was getting irritating to handle it anymore, and she had already been exhausted after the days events. She had hoped for a peaceful night with him, but it turned out to be, that's nothing in her life happened without al the drama required. She never got the easy way out, out of anything, and today the same was happening. It had been two hours since he had left. No phone calls, nothing. The thought of happening something to him was creeping over her rapidly and she needed to know where he was.

There was no means of communication here, his cell phone was with him, and hers, she racked her brains, her cell phone, where was it? She recalled the events of the day, trying to remember where she had left her cell phone. Great, she sighed. It was still in her own room, back at Chandi Chowk. Now how was she to contact him? There was no power left in her to go downstairs and fetch the cod lace, so giving a last look at the pillow which was supposed to be occupied by him, she stretched her legs, prayed to her Devi Maiyan for his long life, and dozed off to sleep.

____________________________________________

Ar: Tell me quick and straight, what happened there? What caused the fire?

Ra: I don't know Sahab ji. I don't know. It was 12:00 when I went over to the meter box, and switched off the power supply to the company, and came back to sit here. Then..

Ar: (shouting) Then what?

Ra: (stammering) Then..then..I ..went..to..sleep, Sahab ji I didn't mean to, I don't how it happened, I never sleep when I am on duty..but..today..I..

Ar: Shut up! What happened after that?

Ra: The next thing I knew I woke up, I saw a car whizz off, and smelled burning. I got up to check where the smell was coming from, and upon realizing that it was your cabin that was blazing in fire, I immediately called the fire brigade. It was only 10 minutes after the fire brigade left that you arrived, and rest you know.

Ar: Wait a min..A car whizzed off? At this hour of the night? Did you see the number?

Ra: Yes, actually I do happen to see the number, it was, DL .. 1C .. AA ..16.. I don't remember the last two digits.

Ar: What the! What the hell do I pay you for? You cannot even safeguard the company for the night? *pause* Sinha, in the morning run a search engine, and let me know the name of the owners of all the car numbers having these digits and two other with it.

Si: Yes Sir.

Ar: Now go home, and get to the office sharp at 7:00 in the morning, I dare you a minute late, and you are FIRED!

Si: Yes..Yes..Sir..

Precap:

She looked at the large wall picture in front of her, her world immediately going fizzy, blurring her vision and stopping her senses.

**Jolly good fellow he is. Full of life, simply the best Di could get.**

** Babuwa, you are our saviour **

** Khushi ji, will you be mine?**

These were all memories, that all seemed meaningless in front of what was before her, it was like she living a nightmare, in her world of dreams.

___________________________________________________________

P.S: As promised, I back with the update again this week. I hope its worth the read. Added the precap too, to give you a hint of what comes your way in the next part.
