I watched, dumbfounded as the deep cut in her wrist gave way to a sea of red blood. "I can't feel my hand!" She shrieked while shaking her arm violently. A flood of tears streaked the paling white of her skin. I felt lost... disturbed... and yet, somehow, I managed to rush up to her and take her hand in mine. The skin with the scorpion's bite was swelling ... "Oh my god Khushi!!!!" My body shook as I pulled her with me to the kitchen sink. I frantically searched for something... anything... that could control the ocean of blood. "Khushi!keep talking to me!" I commanded as I reached for a clean towel and dipped it into the cold water. "Arnavji, I don't know what's happening... I feel... oh... oh it hurts!!!!" Her hands quivered as the cold towel touched her skin. Suddenly, I heard the sound of her agonizing wail. And that was enough to strike me that she needed help - and fast. I turned towards her, hoping to offer her the comfort which I didn't have. But one look at her and I lost all words. She looked pale... an unhealthy pale... And her eyes were so distant. I froze, shocked to see her in such a state. "Khushi..." I whispered. But the only response I received was the closing of her pained eyes as she fell limp into my arms.
