Akshara’s karma
Hey everyone! So sorry for the delay but I was extremely busy and upset this entire week. A friend of mine died on Wednesday morning and everything has been a mess since then. He was only 17 years old, my age, and it was really a shocking tragedy. I couldn't get myself to do any work whatsoever. That is why it took so long for me to update. Hope you guys understand.
Also, if you havent noticed already, I added a title to this FF! Tell me what you think!
Without further delay, I present you the next chapter!
Chapter 16
"Are you serious?" Archie yelled. "What kind of joke is this?"
Macci, Shantannu and Archie had just arrived to the sets when they overheard a few people talking about Shakti leaving D3. They had immediately rushed over to find one of the girls to hear the full story. The boys ran into Samantha and Alisha, who told them what had happened the day before.
"Archie, calm down." Shantannu advised.
Archie shot him a disbelieving look. "Calm down? I'll calm down when someone knocks some sense into her head." he responded. Just then Shakti arrived, ready to face the boys' wrath.
Archie instantly pounced. "What the hell is wrong with you woman? Have you lost it? Why the hell are you quitting? It's great you got the chance to go to New York and I'm happy for you but why quit altogether?" he fired away with a million questions and accusations.
"Archie please let me explain!" Shakti tried to calm him down.
"No Shakti. I dont need an explaination because you're not leaving. None of us will let you." he declared before turning his back to her.
Shakti sighed in frustration. Archie and her shared a special bond, he was like the little annoying brother she didnt have. She knew it would be hard to make him and everyone else understand and accept her decision.
"He's right Shakti! Why did you take such a big decision?" Macci inquired.
Shakti exhaled loudly, getting ready to explain her point of view. But before she could continue she froze in shock, when she noticed Amar standing by the doorway with a confused and hurt expression.
He looked straight into her eyes. "What's going on Shakti? What's Archie and Macci talking about?"
"Kunwar I..." but before she could continue he interrupted her.
"You what?" he asked her, the hurt changing into anger, accusation showing in his eyes. "You didnt find it necessary to even tell me? You didnt think that I had the right to know? How long did you plan on hiding this from me? "
"Please Kunwar let me..." but again she was interrupted by him.
"NO! I dont care what you have to say. I dont want to hear it!" he shouted at her before turning and walking away.
Shakti flinched. He had never raised his voice at her. He had never even gotten mad at her before. Yeah they argued sometimes but it never got serious and he was the one who always calmed them both down. So it took her by surprise when he yelled at her just now and it was even more hurtful than she thought possible.
She hadn't realized tears were silently flowing down her face until Alisha approached her and ran her fingers lightly over her cheeks. "Dont cry Shaks. He was taken by surprise so he just reacted without thinking. I'm sure he didnt mean it." She tried to comfort her but Shakti couldn't control her tears.

Amar walked out of the studio in a fit of anger when he bumped into Palki, Sneha and Vinti. He quickly apologized before hurrying off.
"Seems like he just got the news." Palki sighed.
"Excuse us Palki ma'am. I think he needs a friend or two right now." Sneha said before turning to Vinti. "Let's go." The two girls followed after him.
Amar went out to the basketball court behind the studio. It was deserted and he was grateful for that because he needed time to be alone. He plopped down onto the steps and thought back to what he had just heard.
He had just arrived to the studio and immediately rushed off to meet Shakti and the others as they hadn't seen each other for 2 days now and he hadnt really gotten the chance to talk to them either. He heard loud voices from the girl's makeup room and was heading there when he saw Shakti walking in that direction, a few feet ahead of him. Her shoulders were sagged and she seemed to be tired or upset. He frowned, wondering what was wrong and was just about to call out to her but she had already stepped into the makeup room. That was when he overheard Archie yelling at Shakti. "What the hell is wrong with you woman? Have you lost it? Why the hell are you quitting? It's great you got the chance to go to New York and I'm happy for you but why quit altogether?" The words echoed in his head once again.
He had frozen in surprise. 'Shakti was quitting?... And what was that about New York? ...Was she leaving India?... Quitting?!' All these questions had rushed into his mind. 'No, no Archie probably had a misunderstanding. She'll clear it out for them.' He had consoled himself, going over to the door. That's when he saw her expression, a mixture of sadness and guilt, and he immediately knew that Archie had spoken the bitter truth. He watched as she assumed a determined expression, readying herself to answer Archie and Macci's questions when she had noticed him by the door. After that he had stopped thinking and lost control over himself. Words had just flown out of his mouth.
Amar sat there trying to understand what the hell was going on when Sneha and Vinti walked up to him. Sneha put her hand on his shoulder trying to comfort him. They both sat on either side him.
"Guys please let me just..." Amar began but Sneha interrupted.
"Amar. Shakti got accepted into New York's Broadway Dance Academy for a 3 month training course. She wants to go and pursue her dance studies." she informed.
Amar looked up in surprise. He felt a surge of happiness and pride. He couldn't believe she had gotten such a tremendous opportunity.
"I knew if anyone can do something like that then it's only her. She is a phenomenal dancer." he said with a smile.
"Exactly, and that's why she wants to quit." Sneha continued. Amar's face fell as he was reminded of her decision.
"Dude, out of all of us you should be the most supportive to her because this has been her dream since DID days. Remember when she had told Remo sir that it was what she wanted to achieve in life and we had overheard? Becoming an international dancer is her fantasy." Vinti reminded him.
Vinti was right. Shakti had told him long ago, even before she told Remo sir, that she wanted to bring international styles to India. He had thought it was a really cool idea and even given her a few tips about how to go about pursuing it. But who had thought, at that time, that it would become a barrier between them in the future?
Amar knew she was making the right decision but his heart wasn't willing to let her go. He wasn't ready to lose her when he had just gotten her.
His heart and mind battled it out. His mind told him that this was a once in a lifetime oppotunity for Shakti and that it was her dream coming true, while his heart told him to do anything and everything to keep her close.
"Guys I really appreciate that you came to make me feel better but I need some time to think and digest all this. I'll see you guys later." he said giving them a sad smile before getting up and walking away.
"Damn!" Vinti muttered. "I'm worried for them."
Sneha sighed. "I know, me too. They were so happy together and now this...I really hope things work out."
The two girls headed back into the sets.

Shakti had been anxious the entire day. Ever since Kunwar had yelled at her that morning, she had looked for him everywhere, wanting to talk to him and explain her situation. But she hadn't found him anywhere. Finally when they started to shoot and he still didnt show up she had approached Palki to find out where he had gone. Palki had informed her that he had asked to take the day off. She was disappointed that he had gone to such extremes just to avoid her. But she was determined to confront him.
That evening, after shoot, Shakti got into her car and headed straight to his house. As soon as she arrived she ran to the door and knocked. She waited impatiently until Dharmesh finally answered.
"Shakti! I was expecting you. He's in his room." Dharmesh told her.
She gave him a pained smile and asked, "How is he?"
"He was a mess when he got home this afternoon. He's been locked up in his room all day. I had forced my way in and he finally told me about your decision. But that was it, he hasnt said or done anything after that." Dharmesh said a little sadly.
Tears brimmed in Shakti's eyes. She couldn't believe she was the reason behind his pain. She hated herself at that moment.
She quickly brushed her hands across her cheeks, wiping away the tears that escaped her eyes and put on a determined expression. The damage was done, now she had to fix it.
She walked over to his room. The door was closed. She stood their for a minute collecting herself. Finally she closed her eyes, took a deep breath and firmly grabbed the door knob. She quickly flung the door open before she could lose courage and marched in.
She scanned the room in shock. It looked like a hurricane had hit. Clothes and books were thrown all over the place. His pillows were on the floor and the bed sheets and blanket were hanging off the bed. There was even some shattered glass near the window.
She finally spotted him in the far corner, sitting on the floor by his computer table. She couldn't control her tears when she saw him. His face was puffy and his eyes were bloodshot. She could tell he had been crying. He sat on the floor cross-legged and was staring down at something. She recognized it, it was a decoration piece of two birds surrounded by flowers shaped into a heart. One of their fans had gifted it to them. At the time she hadnt realized it was supposed to symbolize something but now she knew the love birds were the two of them.
He was so engrossed in his thoughts that he still hadn't realized her presence.
She softly cleared her throat. "Kunwar?" she gently called out.
He jerked his head up, breaking away from his reverie, surprised to see her. His eyes moistened as soon as he saw her and his face scrunched up in pain.
"How could you?" he whispered hoarsely.
How was it? It probably wasn't as good as you guys had wanted but under my circumstances this was the best I could do. Do like and comment and all suggestions and feedbacks are welcome :)
