But I wanted to post this before the original storyline got way ahead of where I'd cut it off in my FF.

^k. so yes. i made that. i mean the effects suck, but i love that pic of sanz. u know why? i put khushi's face on gunjans body. thats why. there was a purpose...that hidden by payals head now, but still. i f**king amaze myself^
Prologue: New Day Dawning
"Khushi! Stop."
Her determined strides finally faltered as the usually soft voice called out to her, she slowed to a stop, still refusing to turn around and face the past she'd chosen to leave behind minutes before. Looking straight ahead, she shifted slightly only when the soft hand clasped her own.
"You're not going alone," Payal declared, "I promised you that I would always protect you, and I won't fail at that again."
"Jiji?" her voice questioned, "but -"
"Khushi," Payal's eyes bore a determined gaze, "I'm coming with you."
"No Jiji," Khushi sadly pulled apart their hands, shaking her head, "you have to stay, you've lost so much because of me and who will take care of-"
"You took care of us all this time Khushi, and yet not one of them has come forward to take care of you; I won't let you go alone, with you or without you, I'm not going back there, Khushi. Who said you were the reason for my troubles; you're the one that always solves them na? Khushi, I refuse to be a puppet any longer, and anyways, you're still such a child, who will take care of you other than me, my pagli?"
"Jiji- I-"
"Shhh, Khushi, Payal gave her a reassuring smile, interlocking their fingers she turned towards the dimly lit road, "let's go," she whispered into Khushi's ears as she tugged her along, "let's escape."
"Payaalia!" a choked voice came from behind, "What are you doing! Come back here! Hai re nandakishore! This sankadevi has influenced my poor child."
Payal's head didn't flinch at all, not a single movement to let anyone know that she had heard her bua's ranting, but Khushi knew, she knew her Jiji had heard and was filled with pain because of it. She gave her sister's hand a reassuring squeeze; she was reminded of when they were little girls, setting off in the mornings by themselves with hands entwined tightly as they bravely crossed the street to set off on their morning adventures. Now here they were, setting off once again as a new day dawned, from now on would be just the two of them now she supposed, out to face the world by themselves with their unflagging steps.
"PAYALJI!" the sisters came to a sputtering stop as a slightly familiar male voice called out after them, turning slowly, their eyes widened.
Akash skidded to a stop beside them, breathing deeply due to the sudden sprint he'd broken into; behind him shrieks from their bua could still be heard.
"Payalji," Akash panted, "at least say yes now." Standing up straight, he slowly extended a hand, "Main sirf aapki saath chaata hoon, Payalji, aur kuch nahi."
Khushi watched silently, her eyes began to get her signature sparkle of excitement back within them, her wide eyes traveled to her jiji's face, which was turned towards Akash with a stunned expression.
"Akashji," Payal said, "I just left my home, I-"
"And I left mine, Payalji."
Khushi and Payal gasped simultaneously at the bombshell, "What," Khushi exclaimed despite herself, "AAP?"
Akash nodded timidly, a shy smile emerging quickly before it was wiped away with a look of determination, "I couldn't live there knowing that my whole family is taking a giant step towards evil. I couldn't stay quiet anymore, so I left. Basically, I'm out on the streets either way."
"Oh." Payal said with a tilted head, her eyes fell to her sandal covered feet standing next to her sister's, a small blush appeared on her cheeks; "sirf saath chahiye aapko," she asked softly, "aur kuch nahi?"
"Ummm yes?" a confused Akash looked to Khushi for help, but she merely frowned at him, shrugging her shoulders in confusion.
Payal finally looked up, a teasing glint in her eyes, "aur kuch nahi?" she asked again.
Akash looked down at her, mouth falling open, "I-erm- that is- I, well you, I, you and me- let's run away!"
"YES!" Khushi exclaimed, "JIJI SAYS YES!" she jumped up and down excitedly, "you both said yes!"
Payal gently laid her free hand in Akash's still outstretched palm, "tho chale," she asked with a smile "saath saath?"
Akash grinned down at her, "yes, of course!" He turned to Khushi, "so saali dear, shall we go?"
Khushi nodded happily; for one of the worst days of her life, this day was turning out to be pretty awesome. The three finally turned once again to the empty road, hands interlinked with Payal in the middle. Together, they disappeared into the welcoming Delhi streets as the first rays of sunlight dawned; behind them, they were leaving screams and cries which fell on suddenly deaf ears. They had made their escape, their sweet escape from a bitter world.
