hey honey.. good to know you still exist on Earth. I thought your finals took you to some other alien planet. Why have you disappeared completely from my life?😆

FANTASY

CHAPTER-33

She was in the kitchen chatting with Pari, when Naintara walked in. She smiled crookedly and said, " Oh, toh aap dono yahaan hain. So, kya baatein chal rahi hain?"

" Nothing special. We were just discussing about my honeymoon." Pari said, smiling slightly.

" So, Geet, aap log honeymoon ke liye kahaan gayee the?" Naintara asked slyly.

" We didn't go anywhere." Geet said.

" Really? Maan didn't take you anywhere? Shaadi ke baad pyaar khatam ho gayaa kya?" Naintara laughed out loud.

Geet and Pari exchanged glances, and Geet could suddenly make sense of Maan's behavior last night. She realized that he had been right. There was something wrong about both Naintara and her husband.

Her thoughts were broken by the loud bellowing voice.

" Geet!! Geet!! Geet!! GEET"

" What the hell! Maan kya pagal ho gaya hain, Geet?" Pari said bewildered.

Geet stood there, too stunned to react. She slowly nodded her head, for a no, meaning that she had no idea, why Maan was screaming his lungs out. She slowly muttered," I'd better go." and scurried out of the kitchen in a hurry, leaving an exasperated Pari, and shocked Naintara.

Just as she made way up the stairs, Maan continued screaming, " Geet!! Geet!!! Geet!!!"

" Yeh Maan ko hua kya hain? Pagalo ki tarah chilla kyun rahe hain?" She cribbed to herself, as she entered her room, and saw Maan standing there with his hands on his chest staring at her.

" Kahaan thi tum? Hmm??" he said, slowly walking towards her. " Kab se bula raha hu tumhe."

He closed the door behind her, and placed his hands on either side of Geet, trapping her against the door.

" I know, Maan. Lekin niche se upar aane mein kuch waqt toh lagta hain, haina? Aap chilla kyun rahe the? Kuch hua hain kya?" she said in a confused voice.

" Maine kaha chillaya? Main toh sirf tumhe bula raha tha!" he said, with an amused and wicked glint in his eyes, which Geet failed to notice.

" NO… you were screaming your lungs out." She said, indignantly.

" Hmm….maybe.." He said, burying his face in her hair, taking in the smell hungrily.

" Maan, aap, yeh…" Geet tried to push him away, when he groaned, and caught hold of her waist more tightly." Isiliye aap chillarahe the? God, Maan I was down in the kitchen with Pari and Naintara. Woh log kya soch rahe honge?" she said exasperatedly.

" I don't care." He said, kissing her throat lovingly.

" I know you don't, but, aapko office nahin jaana hain?" Her heart flipped a little, as Maan's lips made their way down to her shoulders. He slipped the dupatta off, kissing her bare skin eagerly. She could feel him smirk against her shoulder, as he said," Geet, yeh farmhouse hain. It's the outskirts. Yahaan office kahaan milega? Yahaan toh sirf tum ho, and that's more than enough for me."

She blushed, as she realized that Maan was right. They were on a 4 day holiday, away from all kinds of office work, as assured by Daadima. However, she couldn't control her train of thoughts, as Maan ran havoc with her already aroused senses, and she closed her eyes, savouring them. The words came out with great difficulty, as she spoke out in a throaty voice," You scared me, Maan. The way you were screaming! Mujhe toh laga.." She never completed it, as Maan took her lips into his, and let go almost immediately, leaving her in a daze.

" Kya laga tumhe, Geet? Bolo na." He said, rubbing his nose against hers.

" Mujhe laga.." He kissed her again, briefly, cutting off her words. She sighed angrily, causing him to smirk even more widely.

Reliving her lips, he said again, " Bolo, chup kyun ho gayii?" and grinned.

Geet looked at him angrily, and shoved him aside. Flipping her hair, she said, " Dusht Danav kahike." And stomped out of the room, but couldn't help a smile as she turned her back on her husband.

" Geet!" he screamed out," How dare you? Mujhe Dusht Danav kehke chali gayii!! Come back right here, Geet… Now…" he screamed out in vain. She stuck her tongue at him, and quickly ran off downstairs before he could stop her.

He stood there smiling, which was interrupted by the shrill ring of his cell phone. He looked at the caller id, and picked it up almost immediately.

" Ha Adi, bolo…"

" Sssiiirrr,… you had asked me to track down the account you had transferred money to two months back." The clear, yet nervous voice of Adi spoke over the phone.

" Yes, kuch pata chala?" Maan asked. That was the money he had paid for those fake photos. Tracing the money and the account could possibly lead him to the person who had actually sent those pictures, and he could know who had tried to break him and Geet off. His heart skipped a beat, as he waited for Adi to answer.

" Ji, sir, the account has been traced back to a person."

" Do you have a name, Adi?" Maan spoke slowly, and then waited for Adi's response.

Sasha walked out of the shower, and picked up her vibrating phone.

" Hum ek ghante mein shopping ke liye nikal rahe hain." Naintara said, her voice triumphant. " The plan is in place, right?"

" Oh, yes! It is. I will reach the farmhouse by tonight, so its going to happen before I get there. That way, no one will even dream of suspecting me." Sasha said, her lips twitching in a contented smile.

She cut the call, and allowed happiness to take over her senses. The long wait was finally going to be over. She was finally going to win.

Naintara threw the phone on the bed, her face radiating positivity and joy. She was going to accomplish the first step of her mission. The reason she had come back from Canada with Dev. First Geet, then Maan and Sasha. And, then, it would all be hers. Only hers.

Sasha, she thought with a laugh. The stupid woman was in love with Maan. Sure, he was handsome, and rich, and everything else, but still, it was unnecessary. She would use Sasha to kill Geet, and then she herself would finish off Sasha and Maan. Well, she probably wouldn't have to work too hard on Maan, after Geet was dead. He would be happy to turn himself in. The lovebirds they were,.she thought sarcastically.

It was time to execute the plan. Once and for all…

" Pari, do we have to go? I don't have a good feeling about this." Geet said for the hundredth time.

" Geet, Daadima told us to take Naintara for shopping. How can we say no to her? Accha nahin lagega na? Chalo, it's just a matter of four days. Bas, phir hume usse nahin jhelna parega…" Pari said,

" Mera woh matlab nahin tha.."

" Lekin mera tha. Now chalo, lets go… warna wapas aate aate raat ho jayegi…"

As Pari left the farmhouse, Geet dragged her feet slowly, completely unwilling to step out of the place. She felt that something was about to go wrong. And she wanted to see Maan. But he was nowhere around. Reluctantly, she settled herself in the car with Pari and Naintara, and started for the market.

" For all you know, Geet, it could be fun." She tried to convince herself feebly.

The afternoon melted into evening, and it seemed as if Naintara never had enough of shopping. They had walked into millions of shops, buying clothes, jewellery, accessories, cosmetics, but Naintara just couldn't stop spending money. By the end of the whole shopping spree, both Geet and Pari were dead exhausted. They continued looking at each other, trying to think of ways they could stop Naintara, or even talk to her about thinking of going back home. Geet continued thinking longingly of the farmhouse. She wanted to rush back into Maan's arms and hold him tight for several minutes. Yes, that's what she wanted. But, right now, she wanted to have a glass of water.

As Naintara dragged Pari back on her feet, to visit another shop, Geet excused herself as politely as she could.

" I have to get some water. You guys go ahead, I will just cross the road, and get water from the restaurant on the other side, and then come and join you people, okay?"she said, looking assuringly, at Pari who threw her a worried glance.

" Yeah, okay." It seemed as if Naintara could barely care less, as she left, dragging Pari with her. Exhausted as she was, Geet picked herself up, and started for the road.

Little did she know, that Naintara cared. She cared a lot. Just as Geet left, she whipped out her cell phone, and wrote a text message saying, "NOW" and sent it off. Relaxed, that she had done her part, she busied herself in shopping again.

Geet felt the cool brisk air hit her body, as she stepped on the roads tentatively. Looking ahead of her, she saw the brightly lit restaurant calling out to her eagerly. She started crossing the road, after having checked both ends carefully. The whole road was packed with cars, and even though it was the outskirts, the huge market was one of the main reasons for attracting a number of people to this part of the area. She dragged her tired feet, and almost a few more strides from the restaurant, when she saw and heard it at the same time. The bright lights hurt her eye, and she felt all her limbs paralysed at once. Her feet gave way on their own accord, and she stood there, motionless, waiting for her death to engulf her. On an impulse, she whispered out slowly, " Maan, I love you." And waited for the fatal blow.

"GEET!!"

She felt a sharp gust of air whip her whole body, as two pair of arms grasped her and hauled her out of the way of a truck, which was inevitably coming towards her way. Both of them collapsed over each other on the road, and Maan quickly overturned himself, cradling Geet in his lap.

" Geet, are you okay? Geet, can you hear me? Jaan… are you okay?" he said desperately, trying to make her move or give him some kind of a response. He groped all around her, looking for some spot of blood, but, he saw none. Crowds started gathering around them, looking for the elusive truck which had caused the accident. But Maan had eyes only for Geet. He stared at her, his hands slapping her cheeks lightly, and squeezing her limp hands. He placed his hand over her chest, and heard her heart hammering strongly.

Relief flooded through him, making him weak. Geet had just fainted, she was alive. She was alive all right. He picked her up in his arms, and ripping through the crowd, took her in the shelter of his car. He fished out a bottle of water from the back, and threw some on her face, hoping to relive her. Her eyelashes fluttered slightly, as she opened her eyes and caught sight of Maan.

" Maan.." she whispered, clutching hold of him tightly. He hugged her crushing every bone in her body, and closed his eyes in silent prayer.

" Tum thik ho na? Tumhe kahin lagii toh nahin na?" he said in a worried voice, looking all over her body for some kind of hurt or injury.

" No, I'm fine." She said, trying to sit up, but Maan stopped that, by cradling her against his shoulders. " What happened to me? Did I faint? There was a truck coming, na? But it wasn't there when I was crossing the road." She could barely make sense of any of the words she was saying, when Maan kissed her on the forehead, and tucked her closer to his body. As it was, the car had very less space, and they were pinned against each other.

" Yes, there was a truck. And it wasn't there when you were crossing. It just came out of nowhere. If I had even been a second more late, then…" he shuddered, holding her even close when she groaned out in pain.

" Oh! Sorry!" he loosened his hold on her, realizing that he was crushing her in his panic.

" No, hold me… keep me close." She said, draping her arms around him more tightly with whatever strength she had left. He reciprocated, kissing her all over her face, and holding her close.

"

" Let's go home, Geet. It has been a long day. I have got to tell you something."

PRECAP: It was Vicky, Geet. Vicky sent me those pictures, Vicky tried to break off our marriage. The account traced back to him.
