chapter-11

That night, they got immersed into their passion and kissed each other unable to suppress the enormous emotions penting up inside them. Geet and don were lost in their blissfull oblivion, not ready to let go of the other when a loud cracking sound of the thunder accompanied by heavy lightening brought don back to the present.

Geet was still lost in the tranquility she was getting. Don looked at her closed eyes and tried to release himself, but geet just pulled him more tightly. Somehow, he didn't wanted this continue. No matter how much alluring and satisfying it felt, he couldn't do this to her.

Geet...st...op...he tried again mumbling within the kiss, but geet was no where listening.

Making up his mind, he pulled himself back with a slight force and separated form her. Geet's expression were clearing showing her displeasure at this pause. She just wanted to feel him again and again. Looking at her dazed state, don placed his hand on her cheeks and said softly...

Geet...!!

His voice finally brought her back to earth. She opened her eyes slowly and tried to gain control over her wayward beats and breath. Both were panting very badly...gasping for air. Their faces were getting red due to lack of oxygen. For a moment everything was quiet, none spoke, only sound which could be heard was of their loud breathing. Don looked at geet, who was trying her best to avoid his gaze and smiled a little at her shyness.

She looked damn cute...he thought and cleared his throat saying...

Ahem, uh geet, waise toh I don't mind it but if you want you can leave my hand...he pointed towards her hands that were still holding him. Geet instantly released him like she got an electric shock. This was hell embarrasing, geet never felt so embrrased ever. She simply stood there with her eyes lowered. Understanding her discomfort don took the initiative to divert the situation...

Uh, its quite late. I think we should sleep...geet was not in a state to lift her gaze and simply nodded hastily. She turned around to look for a place when don again said...

You can sleep on those hay spread over...he singnalled the place opposite to the fire, where she was initially sitting...and I'll sleep here...!!

Geet quietly got up and without waiting for another second moved to take her place. Lying down she adjusted herself on the warm straw and looked at don. Her heart was still pounding at the thought of what would have happened if he had not stopped her. She was so lost that she was not even stopping at his denial. She felt blood rushing to her cheeks thinking about how she pulled him closer when he tried to part away.

What was I doing...??...how could I loose control like this and that too with him...??...she thought and glanced and don, who was now sleeping with his back turned to her.

Suddenly another thought crept up her mind...why did he stopped...??...He is don, THE CASANOVA...!!...he has had so many flings, must have slept with numerous women and one is still his girl friend, then why didn't he go ahead with me...??...He is even attracted to me, which is quite evident in his behaviour. If he wanted he could have done anything with me as I myself was not in my senses, but instead he not only controlled himself, but me too...!!

These thoughts plagued her mind making her utterly confused.

Were those news about his being a playboy, false and the way he potrays himself as a flirt, was all that mere pretense...??

Her heart and mind were at conflict, now. If those news were wrong then was the news about him murdering bhaiya also just a rumour...??...can that be possible...??...Yes, it may be as she had also never thought on those lines, just accepted what the police records presented before her. It can be possible otherwise how could a hardcore criminal risk his own life just to save her from that dreadfull fire...??...Why would he take upon himself bullets to ensure her safety...??

This sudden question created a slight hope in her mind, hope of him being innocent. But why was she hoping it to be true. May be because her heart has started to feel something for him...something very deep and unusual...!!

But then she has seen him killing people mercilessly in front of her eyes without a slightest regret. That can't be pretense. And today, when he killed those policemen...??

Urgh...!!...why is everything so complicated...??...why can't her life be a little simple...??...If adi bhaiya had been here, she wouldn't have to do anything. This tough of war between her heart and mind was killing her. What is the truth...??

The truth...??...Whatever it is, she has to find it. Yes, she'll find it. She'll bring out the truth...!!

A feel of satisfaction and relief filled her senses and she closed her eyes feeling secured around him, drifting into deep slumber...!!

Here, don couldn't even blink for a second. His mind was in a much more messier state. A turbulent storm was going on with in his being. This was not what he wanted. Things are going in a total wrong direction. He has to put a full stop at this. He can't get emotional,not at all. He can't risk his work, the work for which he has done so many sacrifices, for which he has done such endeavors. He just can't risk it...!!

He lie down with his back towards geet, not wanting to face her. It took him every ounce of self control to break their intimacy that moment, he just can't take any risk anymore. Geet cannot affect him. He'll not allow that...!!

He stayed awake for sometime and drifted off to sleep in the wee hours.

Bright sun rays fell on geet's eyes forcing her to open her eyes. Seeing the unfamiliar surrounding, she instantly sat upright. Slowly the events of past night penetrated her mind and she relaxed. She looked at don's side, but frowned on finding it empty. She got up and went outside. It was early morning, 6 am more precisely.

She scanned the whole area to find him, but there was no one. Suddenly a fast moving bike stopped in front of her wih a jerk. There he was all ready to leave...

Hurry up, I don't have whole day...he spat rather rudely.Geet was taken aback with the sudden changed tone of his...what happened to him, now...??

Pushing aside the thoughts geet hoped on and they drove off with full speed.

Don dropped her at her said location and drove away without even glancing at her once. Geet was getting more confused with his behaviour. She shrugged her shoulders and took a taxi to her house.

Don entered his room and threw himself on his bed with a thud...!!

The events from last night were disturbing him a lot. He pushed his hair back with his palm and shut his eyes to get some peace of mind.

After about an hour or two, he got up and get ready. He came to his cabin and started going through the files kept on the table. Suddenly his eyes caught something and he instantly made a call...

Hello rohit...??

Where are you...??

...

I want you to do something and that too fast...he said and they talked for sometime. After he hung up, his face was filled with anger. It clearly showed someone's doom is near.

He was lost in his thoughts when sameera entered his cabin and greeted him...

Hi don, how are you, honey...??

He was already tensed with many things and answering sam's lovey-dovey talks were the last things in his list. Keeping the file in his hands on the table, he got up and said...

I am fine sam. You relax for sometime, I have some work to do...saying so he was about to move out when she caught his hand.

What is this, honey...??...I came just now and you are leaving...she made a face and complained...you don't love me anymore...!!

Don closed his eyes in order to control his anger and said...

There is nothing like that sam, I am just a bit busy...and released his hand from her. Sameera was very furious at this and shouted...of course, why won't you be busy after all you have the company of that bitch geet...!!

SAMEERA...don snapped back with such a warning tone that made her took a step back...don't test my patience...he said pointing his finger at her and added...just leave me alone...!!

Saying so he marched out banging the door shut, leaving a very enraged sameera behind. She knew it was not an appropriate time for anything when don is this angry. He seldom loses his cool and when he does, it proves very deadly and devastating. So, she suppressed her anger and thought of waiting for the right time...!!

Geet entered her house and went to her room straight away. She freshen up and came out to have some breakfast, which romeo had already prepared seeing her so drain out.

Didi, aayie na, apun ne apke vaste nasta ready kar diya hai...he said seeing her coming out.
( Didi, come, I have prepared the breakfast for you )

Geet gave him a small smile and took her place at the dining table. After the hardwork of yesterday, she was damn hungry. As she was about to put a morsel in her mouth, a sudden thought came to her mind...pata nahi don ne kuch khaya ya nahi...!!

Her mind alerted her that very moment...what the hell is wrong with you...??...why are you thinking about him...??...Geet herself didn't knew the answers to these question. All she knew was she was feeling restless as something is going to happen...something very bad...!!

Didi, kya hua...??...aap kuch kha nahi rahe ho...??...romeo asked seeing her lost in her thoughts.
( Didi, what happened...??...why are you not eating anything...??)

Geet shrugged off the thoughts and shook her head...

Kuch nahi romeo...she replied and started to eat.

I don't know what is happening, but one thing is sure that there is an imposter among us...narang said sitting in front of don. He was worried about the latest encounter with the police and came in don's cabin to discuss the matter. Sam and geet along with a man named sunil were also present.

Geet's face colour drained as she heard narang's view, but somehow managed to compose herself before any damage. She knew they would get suspicious and she has yet to find out many things and most importantly about don's real face.

By now, sam's anger was lower but her disliking for geet had taken an exponential increase. She had heard about the incident and also about the fact that don saved geet in that deadly encounter. This fact was indigestible for sam.

There was one or the other expression on every face except for don. He was back to his original serene form. The ULTIMATE MYSTERY...!!

Don, what do you think...??...narang asked not getting any response from don on his words.

Don looked at narang with a sly smile and said in an unusual calm tone...oh narang...!!...I have told you before also, you think too much...narang was about to say something more when don showed his hand and leaned forward with a serious face...but you know what, I am DON and don believes in action...!!

Geet felt his tone turning very dangerous as if he knew who did all this. Suddenly, a slight worry crept through her veins. Though she was not afraid of getting killed, but she wants to solve the whole mystery and for that she needs to be alive. She held her breath and waited for don to continue.

Narang was shocked at his words and instantly asked...so, you know who is the traitor...??

Sameera looked at geet wanting her to be the one so that she would have the pleasure of killing her by her own hands. Geet saw her giving her looks and returned her looks with equal attitude.

Don got up from his chair and moved towards the windows...don knows everything narang.That is one of the reasons, why don is don...he said with an attitude and turned.

Who is it...??...narang asked directly wanting to know the person badly.

Sameera too added looking towards geet...yes don, please tell us who that bloody traitor is. I would love to kill him ( her ) by my own hands...!!

Geet just stood silently not knowing what was coming her way.

Don came forward facing them all and said in a serious deadly tone...the person is right here, among us...and looked at geet. Geet's breath got caught in her thought at what she saw in his eyes. There was an intimidating glint with a passion to kill and she knew, he is hell angry. She silently took hold of her gun that was in her pocket ready for the worst situation. She decided come what may, she'll fight till her last breath...!!

Don moved towards geet like a true predator, his auro was so terrorizing that even the toughest and bravest would crawl to their toes to beg mercy. Narang,sam and others watched him with mixed expressions.

As he neared her, geet gripped her gun tightly. Her heart beat quickened with his each step. Sam saw him moving towards geet and smirked delightedly...I knew it. This geet is the traitor. Now, I'll enjoy her death, which is surely going to be painful seeing don's expression...she thought.

Don kept walking untill he reached geet and looked straight into her eyes. She gulped to ease her dry throat and stared back resolving not to let fear engulf her. He lifted his gun in front of her and she too was ready with hers, which was still hidden in her pocket.

But his next movement left her utterly baffled. He simply walked past her with the gun and aimed it on the forehead of oneof the men standing behind...

So, sunil, surprised...??...don asked with a deadly smirk.

By now sunil was panting badly. He was in a state of shock and enormous fear to utter anything. Seeing his state don chuckled and gave out an evil smile...

Looks like you have seen some ghost...!!

Do...don...I...he stuttered, but words betrayed him due to fear.

But don, how can you be so sure that sunil is the one...??...sameera butted in shooting daggers at geet.

Oh sam, seems like you don't trust your don anymore...he replied in his usual flirty tone. Sameera got very happy hearing him and instantly said...of course not don. I trust you completely...!!

Geet, inspite of the critical situation, couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy at dona nd sam's conversation. But there were so many things on her mind that she can't register anything.

If you do then you should know that don never speaks without proofs and I have all the proofs...don replied to sam's comment and called someone on the intercome. After few minutes a man came in his office and handed over a file to him.

He came back to narang and thrusted the file in his hands...see for yourself...!!

Narang was shocked to see the contents in his file while others were still clueless.

He has been double crossing us since the time he joined...don said and suddenly asked...do you remeber the date of his joining narang...??

Yes, he joined on 28th june this year...narang replied.

Exactly three months before the whole police issue started...don said as a matter of fact.

But, don, he is a police officer and has been misguiding police for us may be thats why these phone records have so many calls to the police head quaters on the particular dates of our meeting and important events...narang tried to reasoned.

That is the main problem with you narang...don said shaking his head...you are habituated on seeing only one side of a coin...!!

What do you mean...??

Don't you think if for some money he can misguide the police then for some more money he can betray us also...don replied the last words in a very heavy and threatening tone.

Don,...I...I sw...swear, I haven't double crossed you...sunil pleaded in a broken tone.

Hearing him don got all the more angry and instantly placed he nozzle of the gun on his forehead saying...I hate disloyalty and moreover when it comes from a police officer...!!

His words hit geet like bullets. For a secong she froze at her place. What is he talking about...??...is this man an undercover police officer just like bhaiya...??

Before geet could think further, sounds of bullets filled the whole room as don mercilessly filled the body of the man with bullets, not giving him a second to survive more.

Geet stood their shock, motionless and moreover heart broken...!!
