Part 11:
"SURPRISE!!!" together they cheered up...indeed surprised to be welcomed by his best friends, Arnav sadly smiled to them...sensing the tension in him both moved back to let him step in...dropping the coat on the floor, he collapsed on the couch while rubbing his jawlines with both palms, trying to protect the heart inside him that was about to break down into pieces...before he knew, he completely broke down in front of them taking both Aman and Anjali by surprise...
It didn't take them a second as Aman quickly kneeled over in front of him while Anjali carefully made herself sit on his right, gently holding her stomach...trying hard not to get panic in her 5 months of pregnancy as she knew it wouldn't be good for her unborn child...
Seeing him in this condition was something definitely unexpected...knowing him for a long time, neither of them had witnessed this side of him...red eyes, as the tears were flowing down uncontrollably as if they just got freedom after being imprisoned in him for ages...unable to hold her own tears, she gently held him by the shoulders since it was killing her inside to see her happy-go-lucky brother in misery...on the other hand, taking his hand in him, Aman tried to comfort him as well as influencing him to be strong...
"shh!!!...Arnav...Did you meet her??" Aman softly initiated...still in a dilemma to express his misfortune, he was freaking out...as he was continuously looking everywhere but them...finding himself hard to handle him, Preet tried again, "Arnavvv!!!...relax man!!!...Is she alright??...Tumne baat ki usse??...she still lov..." he could not finish the sentence when his heartrending voice broke down, "...She hates me..."
The tears finally made its way down the cheeks as soon as his excruciating voice hit her ears...gently squeezing his shoulders, she rested her cheek on his right shoulder as she couldn't find any proper word to console her brother...
"She hates me Aman...she said it right on my face...she hates the sight of me..." he cried out..."..I saw the pain in her eyes, the pain that I gave her...I am the reason for her pain Anjali..." taking her right hand into his, he confessed the guilt, helplessly looking at her...placing her left hand on top of his, she tried to soothe him, "please don't say that bhaia...we know, you never intended to hurt her...very soon she will also realise it...I am sure you will get a very special place in her life"..."No she won't...how can you expect her to give me a place in her life, when she refused to give me a place in her heart???...She thinks I am here to take our son away from her...She thinks I will again take her happiness away from her" Arnav testified, making both his friends stare at him with a stunned look on their faces...
It was not that, they were shocked at hearing about her, being a mother...because Arnav had shared everything about their 'nameless' relationship with them...But it was the words 'our son' that made them surprised... in order to reassure himself Aman asked "...your son??" while exchanging a glance with Anjali...realising what he just said, his eyes softened as his lips slightly curved up to a smile "...yes...my son...can you believe it???...MY SON!!!..." he excitedly told them...seeing the excitement in him, she gently wiped his tears off with the corner of her dupatta while flashing a broad smile...witnessing the sweet gesture between the two, Aman couldn't resist himself from admiring their deep yet a cute relationship...
"...he looks exactly like me yaar...you won't believe, exact same eyes, same nose..." he narrated still keeping a smile on his face..." Oh ho!!!...so we already got a latest yet little version of Arnav Singh Raizada??!!...oh boy!!!...can't wait to meet him..." Aman answered winking at his friend, when Anjali also shared her wish, "Exactly yaar!!!!...wait..." she stopped when she realised it, "...that means...she loves you Arnav..." making both Arnav and Aman look at her...rolling eyes she continued to prove her statement, " arre budhdhu, if she didn't love you then she would have never given birth to your son in the first place...but now...she might be scared to admit it...she might be scared to trust her destiny again as it always gave her nothing but pain..."
