Part 6 - Dangerous Feelings!
Armaan sat on the window sill watching the rain drizzle down his window, in the dark. An eerie silence had settled around him. As much as he was a party person and loved noise, in the end he always needed some relaxation, where he would just sit by himself in the darkness, where no one would disturb him. He would especially sit in the dark on his own when he was upset or too stressed out, yet today was a completely different day. Neither was he stressed nor was he upset, in fact he didn't even know what he felt like today. He was going through a surge of mix emotions.
He leaned his head back on the wall behind him and held up the shining bracelet in his head, he could even see it clearly in the darkness as the diamonds in it illuminated it. Since the last half an hour his eyes were fixed on the 'R' that was attached to the bracelet, obviously standing for 'Riddhima'. He had lied to her that he didn't have it when it was in his pocket all along. He himself didn't know why he had lied to her in the first place though. Maybe he wanted to keep it as a souvenir!
He had just realised that since he had met Riddhima he had been in a lot of confusion, a lot of questions of his needed answering.. He replayed the encounter in his head again when he had ambushed her thinking it was a thief and the way she had struggled in his hold and when he had caressed her face to try to calm her nerves, she got all jittery and he could almost hear her heart thudding in her chest. What he didn't understand was why things had suddenly become awkward between them, when she had revealed to him that she was Sid's Fiancee.
Riddhima is Sid's Fiancee! This revelation for some odd reason hadn't gone down well with him. Why was he feeling so strange about it? He kept on pondering on that thought, but he hadn't come to any conclusions about his feelings. Why didn't he wan t to admit the fact that Riddhima was his soon-to-be Sister in law? It all seemed so wrong to him .. Something was surely not right.. But what? Heck, he needed some answers to calm himself down; he was in a dilemma and needed to get out of it asap! He thought he would go mad if he kept on thinking about these things!
The sound of the doors opening and a car pulling up outside, snapped Armaan out of his reverie. Sid, Ananya and Billy were back now. He sighed, knowing that he would have to come out of his relaxation mode and talk to Sid telling him about his experiences in New York. He had been dreading Sid's non-stop banter, since the morning.. Thankfully when he had arrived in the morning Sid was at home and Billy and Ananya had informed that he was out with his friends and then latest they had gone to a party.. They had asked Armaan to join them, but he simply refused, saying that he needed to rest. He had arrived at India a week ago and he was in the city as well, but his family didn't know that and neither did he tell them.. He needed to deal with some unfinished business first and only then he had decided to come home.
"Armaan mere bhai..." Sid bellowed at the top of his voice like a little kid, as he swung open door of Armaan's bedroom and switching the lights on he pounced on Armaan and took him in a warm embrace, nearly knocking him over.
"Sid calm down and get off me dude." Armaan said, as he struggled to get Sid off him, it was getting difficult for him to breath.
"Sorry, sorry.." Sid apologized as he came out of the hug and Armaan gasped a huge breath of air.
"Dude, I am so happy you're back.." Sid exclaimed in excitement. It had been a year since Armaan had gone to USA. He had missed his brother a lot.. After all they had been together since they were little and knew each other inside out.
"I know man.. It feels so good to be back home finally.. How I missed and you.." Armaan said, he had truly missed his brother and family.. USA was an awesome place and of course he had made a lot of new friends there, but he had missed his family a lot and he was more than happy to be back at place.
"Okay so bata how was USA.." Sid had been dieing to ask him this!
Armaan rolled his eyes at the question.. He was expecting that from the beginning, but right now he was in no mood of talking.. He just needed some sleep, especially when his head was throbbing with pain, by all that thinking he had done. "Sid, listen I'm really tired dude. We'll talk tomorrow."
"Okay fine.. And that reminds me, you need to meet Riddhima tomorrow.. Hum kal uske ghar jaa rahen hain.." Armaan looked up at Sid as soon as he heard Riddhima's name. And just as he was about to tell Sid that he had already met Riddhima, he stopped.. He didn't know why, but still he thought to keep it to himself. So he just sent off to his own room and sprawled on the bed and he drifted off to sleep almost instantly, dreaming about a certain Riddhima...
