And here goes...Part 1:
Arnav had woken up to the unsure smile on Anjali's face as she placed his coffee tray on the bedside table and ran away before he could call out to her. Looking back at the plate she had left, Arnav sighed; she just had to be so perfect, just like him. Now he didn't even have a reason to call her back.
When he returned from his shower, he saw that his clothes for the day had already been laid out neatly on the bed. "Di's work…" he mumbled to himself as he dressed up in the same clothes, drinking his coffee in one gulp; he was running late already and there was work he had to redo because of their… Arnav's temper simmered as he walked out of his room. He could easily see three little heads disappear behind the curtains of the adjoining room hastily. Normally, he would have gone after them but now, he was far too disappointed and angry with them to bother. He had been right in considering children nuisances, he mused as he hurried to the breakfast table where everyone was waiting for him. Nani still sat at the head of the table, and she smiled at him warmly as he approached.
One good thing that had come out of all the fiasco that had raged in the family was that he had managed to please Nani completely. She was now perfectly happy with him, and with the way he was leading his life. Keeping his head down, Arnav ate the food on his plate with silence, leaving out just the Jalebi. He knew exactly who had made it and left it out on purpose; this time, it wouldn't be so easy.
As he was finishing up with his breakfast, the telltale ruckus announced the arrival of the Three Musketeers. Trying to hide his smile at the name they had made for themselves, Arnav peeked from his intense stare at the plate, watching as the three arrived at the table and took their seats silently, their faces sullen as they looked at the person standing behind him.
On the gleaming table top, he could see Khushi make fervent hand movements, surely asking them what had happened; the three shook their heads in a no, and Khushi sighed, giving him a rueful look and a disappointed shake of the head.
"I'll be late tonight; don't bother waiting up," he replied to no-one in particular and walked out of the house quickly, before Khushi could corner him and convince him. They had crossed the line this time and they would have to pay.
Anjali looked at him with a frown as he went and gave Khuhsi an inquiring look; Khushi merely tilted her head in the direction of the children. Sighing, Anjali took the three away, leaving Khushi to her thoughts of exactly how she was going to make this situation all right.
A/n: tell me if its any good? Should I continue?
