PART 20

He at once left the room and was about to step down when his eyes caught the view of her dupatta dangling from the swing. He rushed to the terrace and…there laid the princess………the divine epitome of beauty sand innocence………. fast asleep I the swing…her dupatta lying on the ground by now. The morning sun was highlighting her features..

Maan slowly sat down on his knees and couldn't stop admiring her…"beautiful"…the word began escaped his mouth…his fingers became more restless to remove her curls which were falling across her face and kept perturbing her sleep…. her brows twitched and her little red nose wrinkled as the curls kept on disturbing her…he raised his fingers and very slowly moved them aside…. and a beautiful smile crept on her lips…. he looked upon her red cheeks…. and then to her pink lips….for once he wanted to kiss her…how come one girl has so many images? he thought to himself…for once he wanted to shield her, and protect her from all the dangers of the world…for once he wanted to have her in his arms forever…he did not even know when he had leaned forward to kiss her…until……."achooo!!!!"She sneezed with all her might on his face…. jolting him back to his senses. He at once raised his hands to slap her tight and show her the consequences of sneezing on the Maan Singh Khurana's face…but as he saw her stirring cutely he again smiled…she was by then feeling cold and tried to cover herself with her hands…he lifted the dupatta and covered her. he thought of waking her up…..as she might catch a cold.."Geet"he called…she didn't respond…"geet, wake up" he called again…seeing her unmoved he thought of carrying her to her room…. but his ego did not let him do that…."uff!!! This girl" he turned back when he heard."Maan…."

"So she finally got up." and he turned to notice the most shocking thing of his life. The sleeping beauty was dreaming about him!!!!!!

"Maan" she called again…maan slowly went to her and sat on his knees.."you are good" she spoke softly and smiled….he was amused. "You are sweet. And ………and… maan spoke" and?"…"Handsome"…. I like you." he suppressed a smile with difficulty. She was looking so damn cute in her sleep…he couldn't stop pulling her cheeks…she at once got up and stared at him as if he was one of the most incredible species on earth….

"So miss handa is dreaming about me…interesting!!!!"

He huddle toward her face and she stood up with a jerk.

"Why are you here?" she asked him confused. "Well it's my house and so I don't need your permission I guess" he replied.

"Oh.hmmm…"she stammered.

"Why are you sleeping here?" he finally asked her.

"I don't know." and saying that she pushed him aside and tried to run away when he caught her hand and jerked her toward him.

"do you always jump into situations without knowing the consequences of it,……haan geet."he said nuzzlings her neck……the strange closeness between them made her stomach churn……unknowingly the closeness was arousing strange emotions in both of them she finally managed to speak controlling all her emotional havocs.

"Since I met you…situations are turning more eventful."

"Well in that case I am a boon in your life…you must say…turning your boring life meaningful…my darling officer." and saying so he bit her earlobe. She shudders at his sudden attack…she managed to run away from him….

For the first time maan did not feel any frustration within him after purposely getting close to her. It was as if they were meant for each other…. no…perhaps none of his enemies got a chance to ever escape from his clutches. And here she is living under the same roof with her and he grows restless by not seeing her near him, as he fears that she will escape him!(hell no! do you still think so?!)

It was noontime and geet's stomach was growling with hunger. She left her room and went to the kitchen and started looking for food. She opened the refrigerator and tried to find something edible when," don't you think that you are forgetting that you are kidnapped?"

She turned to find a very casual maan leaning against the door and smirking! She raised her eyebrows at his comment ad said "care to explain?"

"Well, you roam in my house as if it is your private garden, you fall asleep wherever you like you come to my kitchen and start fidgeting with things as if you are the owner, don't you think you are enjoying too much of liberty??"

"Well in that case you should not have kidnapped me in the first place coz I don't change my lifestyle so frequently."

"You should make one thing very clear in your mind that I am your enemy. I can harm you or kill you whenever I wish."

"You can neither harm me nor kill me an you know rat well."

Maan paused at looked shocked at her reply.

Even geet herself was confused at her retaliation. It sounded so true… So natural… but to ease the situation she covered it with, "I am not a damsel in distress to sit quietly and endure your tortures. I am much capable of fighting you back."

But maan was clever enough to understand her futile attempt to ease the environment. Well there was something of an unknown bond developing between them and hey both were very much aware of it. But some relations stay better if not nurtured, some bonds are never meant to be.

"Well in that for now you cannot geet any cooked dish here, so move."

Saying this he left the kitchen.."humph!idiot!what the hell does he think of himself? Here my poor stomach is howling and growling in hunger!!"she was almost in the verge of crying when she left the kitchen and landed in the drawing room couch. She was getting hell bored and was dozing off when she heard a noise fom the kitchen. She got up and went to find maan trying to cut a potato with a knife.

She was amused at maan, seeing him cook."hello???"she started and with the sudden sound he cut his finger….."shhuckkks!!!!!!"he shouted as he moved his hands and saw his index finger bleeding profusely….geet at once rushed and forced his finger into cold water and cleaned it with a cloth. "Where is the first aid box?"she shouted. Maan kept staring at her till she again shouted, "where is it?" he showed he the cupboard without uttering a single word. Geet very carefully bandaged it and said, "You don't need to do things you can't. It may hurt you and it hurts………."

And she left……….
