Part 2: Updated 10/10
"Daro mat, chalo meray saath" Arnav pacified the crying Khushi. He was not the type who would console a crying individual. So he turned and began walking away towards his room taking small steps allowing Khushi to make up her mind and follow him. As soon as he noticed someone walking behind him he quickened his pace and began taking bigger strides a slight grin appearing on his mouth and then disappearing as fast as it had appeared.
Khushi came in the room but stopped at the doorway. Arnav had stripped the decorations in the room and had called up room service to get rid of the flowers earlier so the place looked romance free now. Khushi breathed a sigh of relief but still hesitated at the idea of spending a night alone with a guy.
"Yeh Devi Maiyaa bhi na humain kahan kahan phansa deti hain. A night out with Rakshaas number 1." Khushi whispered to herself.
Khushi called the room service for some extra blankets and pillows.
Arnav: "Kuch kaha tum nay."Khushi: "Nahi nahi... hum kya kahein gay.. Bas humain yakeen nahi aaraha kay aap itnay darya-dil (big hearted) kaisay hosaktay hain. Achay achay kaam kartay huay na aap bilkul bhi Laad Governor jaisay nahi lagtay." she added the last sentence in an undertone.
Arnav:
"Dekho tum couch par so jao. I'll sleep on the bed."Khushi: "
Kiya aap bistar par sooain gay aur hum is aadhay adhooray sofay par. Aap itnay nirdai kaisay hosaktay hain kay khud toh bed par sooain aur aik bechari larki ko zameen par sula-ain. Paap charhay ga paap."Arnav who had no effect of Khushi's speech just took his shoes and socks off and plumped onto the bed and slid the covers without another word.
Khushi: "Arey agar aapko itni neend aarahi hai toh bathroom main so jayen na.. Tub main bahut achi neend aaye gi aapko. Diggi main paray paray humari toh kamar hi bal-kha gai hai... uthiya naaa."
Arnav: "Dekho mujhe sonay do I have an important meeting tomorrow and I want to catch some sleep after this horrendous 5 hour drive. Aur agar aik aur shabd bhi kaha na toh I'll deduct 50% of your salary and and."
Khushi: "Arey kitni purani dhamki hai yeh.. Kuch naya toh sochain jaisay Main tumhain chatti ka doodh yaad dila doon ga, Kahan tum Lucknow ki kachi kali aur kahan main Delhi ka Laad Governor."Arnav resigned. He decided that it was useless talking to this girl. She had answers for everything so it would be wiser if he held his tongue. Khushi came upto him and tugged the blanket as he was pulling up the covers... as a result both of them tumbled onto each other on the bed messily wrapped around the blanket with Arnav underneath and Khushi on top and just the blanket acting as a separator between the two at some parts while at others both felt a skin to skin contact.
As Khushi had fallen over Arnav, some of the lose strands of her hair had fallen over his face. Their faces were inches apart from each other. Their eyes had connected during the process and this connection had taken the both of them in an another world. After blissfully staying for a few seconds in this posture, Arnav blew on Khushi lose strands falling over him while Khushi was lost his breathing over her face. His warm, safe, and handsome self. Yes, Arnav was handsome. He really was handsome, and she realized this in this moment. Devi Maiyya must've taken her sweet time while creating Arnav. While the same thing was going on in Arnav's mind.
"You are so different Khushi. I've never met anyone like you before. Someone who has lost everything in life, but has not lost the life in her... and you're beautiful. If I had a belief in a higher power than I would definitely say that you were created by one. You're an intriguing beauty. Agar koi bananay wala hai toh us bananay walay nay kiya khoob banaya hai tumhain." Arnav let his train of thought lose while drowning in the moment.
There was a sudden knock on the door and both came back from the heaven to the present. Khushi feeling extremely awkward got off from Arnav while Arnav feeling equally awkward straightened himself up and got up from the tangled mess of the blanket. The room service had brought up extra blanket and pillows for Arnav's new roomie.
Arnav: "Tum hi bed par so jao. Mujhe nahi sona is par."Khushi added quickly:
"Nahi Arnav ji. Aap so jaiye is par. Humain nahi sona aur waisay bhi, humain ab neend nahi aai gi is par."They looked at each other for a couple of seconds before turning their faces away feeling a bit embarrassed from the earlier confrontation, and both of them silently decided not to sleep on the bed and instead they each took and pillow and a blanket and just sat on the carpet. Khushi taking a few extra cushions from the sofa and hugged them remembering Payal. She knew none of them would be able to fall asleep easily after that.
Khushi: " Arnav ji... kya aap so gaye hain."Arnav: "Nahi Cricket khel raha hoon. Khailo gi."
Khushi: "Arey Wah...kheltay hain na... maza aayega" and she took a cushion and threw it to Arnav in the action of a cricket bowler throwing a ball to the batsman. The cushion hit Arnav on the face before he could react."
Arnav: "Khushi Kumari Gupta tum.." and he took up a pillow and began hitting her playfully with it. She took his lead and began hitting him with a pillow as well. All reservations forgotten in the moment and both ended up laughing till Arnav became somber. His face fell and tears welled up in his eyes.
Arnav: "Jaanti ho Khushi, main apni maa ko bhi aisay hi tangh kiya karta hai. Aur aaj woh meray pass nahi hain. Jab unki death hui thi na, I used to wish that she comes back and if she would then I would never irritate her again. Main tumhain kabhi tangh nahi karonga Ma...wapis aajao... par woh nahi aaye. Aur ahista ahista I realized that wishes are nothing but an illusion given to close your eyes from the reality. Ma nahi aayi aur phir mera yakeen God par wapis nahi aaya."Arnav had closed his eyes after saying this to Khushi as if he was remembering something horrid from the past. She felt shattered at this words. She knew exactly how much it hurt to lose your parents so she got up on a kneeling position with Arnav now sitting down on the carpet bowing his head. She threw her arms around him and let her body language do all the language. Sometimes expressions can be better substitutes for words, and she coddled him while Arnav's hands slid on her back and it seemed like the most peaceful moment of his entire life to Arnav.
