"and how come we are here without an appointment?", nupur narrowed her brows and mayank smiled, "who said we are without an appointment?"

"means we have an appointment?", she asked shocked and he nodded.

"when?, when did u took an appointment mayank?"

"yesterday evening", he was still smiling.

"yesterday evening?', her shocked increased, but her vision blurred due to her eyes brimming with tears, "were you so sure mayank?", she almost uttered and felt the grip on her hand turn strong, "there was nothing to doubt nupur, nothing at all

The announcement broke their trance and taking a deep breath, nupur stood up and mayank wiped her tears and kissed her head and saw her going to the doctor's room.

"it shows, you seem so scared and nervous,",she took out her BP apparatus, "but trust me, this is the most surreal feeling of this world, soon this fear will vanish away", she wrapped the apparatus on her arm and waited for the machine to show results.

100/150", the doctor said worried, "BP is high, anyways, that's manageable, looking at you shows its mainly because of your stress, are u so worried nupur, aren't you happy about a life in your body?", the doctor placed away the ,machine and turned towards her fully.

Nupur bit her lip and totally confused over the answers, she tried looking here and there, but she knew there was no running away from the doctor's sharp eyes., "are you happy nupur?", and nupur closed her eyes.

Dr Sakhsi Mehta was a renowned gynecologist of the city and being in this profession from the past 25 years, she could perfectly understand the moods of expecting mothers, and observing nupur, she could judge that she was scared and confused, because the way she had her eyes tightly closed, she was only trying to block tears.

"okay come with me", she took her hand and led her to the stretcher, "lie down, I'll show you a magic", she smiled and completely exhausted over what to say, she lied down. Sakshi took her hand and placed it over her stomach, "do you feel anything nupur?"

"my own flesh", she said stubbornly.

"lie", the doctor replied and nupur looked at her shocked, "you feel your child, that is why you are holding your flesh", she replied calmly and nupur looked down at her hand and her closed fist, crumpling her shirt. Jerking her head nupur sat up and followed docter to the table, "okay so just a few blood tests to see your inner weaknesses", she was scribbling down lines on the note pad and handed her with a smile.

"thank u doctor", she said and walked away , when she heard the doctor say, "you are blessed nupur, not everyone can become a mother.", and nupur walked out quickly, before her mind could register the depth of the statement.

"how was it?", mayank was in the waiting area, welcoming her with his trademark sweet smile.

"blood tests",she handed him the paper and they both went on their way to home.

"we can go for the tests tomorrow, for now I think you need rest", mayank announced as they entered their home and nupur quietly went to lie down. She was blankly staring the roof when mayank came behind her and sat beside her, "what are u thinking nupur?", he asked, gently stroking her head.

"think again mayank"

"what>?", he was amazed and nupur sat up, looking in his eyes, "think again, do you really want ME to give birth to your child?"

"and why are u asking this question?", he asked back

"mayank I am not a type of woman anyone would like to be the mother of their children, a selfish, once widowed woman'

"I love you nupur ..", he said softly, somewhere he was expecting this from nupur.

"I know that", she took a deep breath, "but what if you object in future?"

"I won't"

"promise?"

"yes, promise",

"there you go", she smiled painfully, "don't be so sure about yourself, remember you know me a bit too much mayank ..".
