Part 10

Maan, Geet and Daadima take Rano home and prepare for the last rites of Mohinder and Rajveer...

Rano is still not accepting that she has lost her husband... She is a bit violent at this time but she always has Geet besides her... Geet tries to console her even when she cant console herself... But then she had promised her father and she can deny anything in the world but not her father's last wish... She knew she has to be the pillar of strength for her mother... Rano is continuously crying since the time she has heard the news whereas Geet sheds silent tears seeing her mom in this condition... Maan and Daadima take care of the arrangements of the last rites of the two people who left them in such a situation... Savitri Devi was the one to take everything in her hand as she was the eldest in the family... Maan being the only son of Rajveer was asked to perform the last rites of his father...

Panditji: Savitri Devi ji, Rajveer ji ka antim sanskaar ko Maan beta kar dega... Aap please Mohinder ji ki family mein se kisi ladke ko bula lijiye...

Daadima: Panditji, hum to jaante nahin hain Mohinder ke parivaar mein kisi ko aur iss time to Rano bitiya bhi iske baare mein batane waali halat mein nahi hai... Humne unke parivaar mein unn teeno k alawa kabhi kisi ko na hi dekha hai aur na hi suna hai... Ab aap bataiye hum kya kar sakte hain...

Panditji: Par antim sanskar to kisi purush ko hi karna hoga... Wo kaun karega..???

Maan comes to Daadi's room and hears the conversation between panditji and Daadima... He goes to Rano's room to see her and ask her if she can call someone from his family for the last rites...

Maan: Rano maa, meri taraf dekhiye... Mujhse baat kijiye please... Aapko ab rona band karna hoga... Please meri baat suniye aur mujhe bataiye... Aapka abhi mujhse baat karna zaroori hai... Please maa be a little strong... Uncle aapko aise dekhenge to he will not like it and I am sure aap unko dukhi nahi karna chahte hain... (turning towards Geet)... Geet please maa k liye paani le aao kitchen se...

Geet leaves to get water from the kitchen...

Rano: Maan puttar, tumhare uncle mujhe chod k kyun chale gaye... Ab main unke bina kya karungi... Main Geet ki zimmedaari akele kaise nibhaungi... Hum dono ka ab iss duniya mein koi nahi hai...

Maan: Maa aap please aisi baat mat kijiye... Main aur Daadima hain aapke aur Geet k saath... Hum sab saath hain to aap akela kyun mehsoos kar rahi hain... But abhi aapko string rehna hoga... Geet k liye please...

Rano: Haan puttar... tum sahi keh rahe ho... Geet hi meri zindagi hai ab... Mujhe uske liye jeena hoga... Inka sapna poora karna hoga...

Maan: Maa, mujhe aapse ek zaroori baat karni thi... Maa, uncle k parivaar se kisi ko bula dijiye uncle k liye... Aap samajh rahi hain na...??? (He didn't know how to express in words)...

Rano (suddenly becomes alert and conscious of her surroundings, confused on what to say next, she becomes a little hesitant): Maan, humare parivaar mein Geet ke alawa koi nahi hai... Aur jahan tak saare rivazon ki baat hai... Mera ek beta hai jo unke liye aur mere liye hamesha se bete se badhkar raha hai... Tum use jaante ho aur mujhe lagta hai maine tumhare saare sawalon ka jawab de diya hai puttar... (She caresses his face)...

Maan understands the sign Rano had given him... He was her son and she had once again accepted that... He nods his head and leaves when he sees Geet entering in the room... They look into each other's eyes for a moment and then go for their respective paths...

Maan performs the last rites of Rajveer and Mohinder...

It was the night and everyone decides that Rano and Geet would stay in the Khurana mansion for sometime because Rano wasn't well and Geet couldn't take care of her alone... So Maan and Daadima ask them to stay back in the mansion...

Everyone were there in their rooms...

Savitri Devi was in her room alone after a long day... She sheds tears for her son because after her husband left her, he had been her strength... He was the one in which she could see her husband and the one who fulfilled all her dreams... She had been strong when her husband left her and even when her loving daughter-in law left for the heavenly abode just when Maan was three years old... She was a motherly figure for her grandson too... But then losing her son now... She felt she couldn't take more of it... Her strength was decreasing day by day... Y did God have to do this to her... What should she do now... She came to know that since her sons (Mohinder and rajveer) left, the Khurana and Handa Constructions were left orphan and had no one to take care of it... Geet and Maan were very young and still in school and she didn't trust anyone else to handle the company... She had done this before and she had to do it now... She can shed tears today but then from tomorrow the office has to be taken care of... She was thankful to Rajveer to have made her aware of the entire business they used to do... She decides that she will do it till Maan and Geet are grown up enough to take care of the business... Khurana and Handa constructions were Rajveer's and Mohinder's dream which they had seen for their kids whne they grow up and now she had to fulfil her son's dream... She prays for the departed souls and sleeps after crying for some more time...

Rano wasn't well and had been under strict medication so was now sleeping whereas Geet was in her room standing facing the window... She had her eyes wet remembering her moments with Mohinder and even rajveer... People had one father and here she was blessed with two of them who always treated her like princess... She always believed that she was the luckiest girl in the world... Her dad's princess... But fate had other plans for her... She lost both her fathers in a car accident... She didn't know what wrong had she done to face such consequences... She asked God silently on the reason of this punishment... She couldn't even cry her heart out because it would wake Rano up and she knew she had to be strong for her mother... But then she couldn't help remembering the last moments with Mohinder... She had promised him something and now she would make sure she fulfils his wishes... She had always been her dad's daughter and she will always be... She sees the sky and pointing to the two brightest stars complains to her dad y had they left her alone... She wishes them good night and returns to the bed before her mom wakes up...

Maan was in his room... He was the one who didn't have tears in his eyes... He knew the situation and understood it very well... He knew he couldn't shed tears and had to be the pillar of strength to everybody... He did see his grandmom and the strong face she had put on but then she was weak inside and he has to be her support... When his Daadi can be so strong he has to be stronger because not only to Daadi, he has to provide strength to Rano and Geet... He sees his father's belongings on the table and sees his dad's taveez which his dad always used to wear... He wears it around his neck as a token of remembrance of his father which he would have around his neck always... He remembers his father and tells him that he loves him... He wasn't the one who used to express his feelings to anyone and now feels he should have told his dad how much he loved him... He knew his father had understood his son's love but then he didn't realise that he could now never speak to his father on how much he loved him... He sees his father's picture in the room and tells him that he loves him and misses him... He thinks of what he has to do next and now there was no looking back... He has to move on so that his family can move on too... It doesn't mean that they forget what they have lost but then fulfil the dreams of the people they have lost... He holds his father's wallet close to his heart and sleeps with it praying to his father to show him the path for the better future...

I am back again with the update... Cant believe I had written this waiting for my flight to depart at the airport... Now I am back home and hence this update for u... Exams are now over and the work load has hopefully reduced a bit... Although I can see my mom running behind me to learn some "homely" works... LOL...
