Hello wala Hi. Here is another update, another short one but it was all I could manage. I was reading thru my previous chapters to get a feel of the story again, and I realized how much I missed Yash and Pari ( remember, Maan's best friend Pari who just got together with Yash. I don't blame you if you forgot). I love writing on them so they make a comeback in this update. Along with more of Geet's past.
Thank you for showing this story your love 🤗
Recap: Geet begins to tell Maan about her past.
Chapter 12
Pari watched from the slightly ajar door as Maan and Geet sat in each other's arms, talking quietly among themselves. Pari was thankful they were both staying together after the reveal of Geet's past. Anyone could tell how deeply the two loved each other but they had a long, hard fight ahead of themselves.
Maan had told her he was going to contact the police authorities in the morning; he had said he would convince Geet. They were going to stand along side Geet and get her justice. She cringed thinking how much she had suffered in the last eight years at the hands of her abusive husband.
Just then, she felt a hand on her shoulder. Startled, she let out a little yelp before turning to face Yash. He grinned seeing her response. That mischievous fool. She glared at him, scolding him silently for scaring her like that. She quietly closed the door; thankful Maan and Geet hadn't noticed her invading their privacy. She had just wanted to make sure they were both all right.
Pari reached for Yash's hand as they started to walk down the hall. They had spent the last couple of hours working away in the ER. She felt Yash squeeze her hand gently.
"You ready to head home, Maltorta?"
She just nodded in response, draping an arm across his waist bringing their bodies closer. The warmth of Yash's body soothed away the fatigue of her hard day.
Pari wasn't surprised that Yash didn't pick up their restaurant conversation of meeting his family'. He never liked to pressurize her and he knew how stressed she had been about Maan and Geet.
The elevator opened with a ding and they both stepped in. Pari silently dropped her head to his sturdy shoulder and let her eyes droop shut. It had been an exhausting day, both physically and emotionally. Right now, she just wanted to be held by her boyfriend.
She felt Yash's hands clasping around her back, supporting her weight fully. Just as the elevator opened, Pari attempted to step away but Yash smoothly scooped her in his arms. Just like that, he paraded out of the hospital lobby with everyone staring.

It was a quiet drive with Pari already dozing off. She had fallen asleep just as he had placed her in the car. She was so tired. The long day at the hospital, then their date and of course, the scare they had with Geet. Thankfully, Geet was okay but Pari was still worried about them. He didn't want to stress her more by asking her to meet his family. She didn't seem ready and he couldn't pressure her.
Yash parked the car at Pari's building. He grabbed her handbag first, fishing out her keys before slinging it over his shoulder. He proceeded to gather her gently in his arms without waking her.
The watchman saluted, recognizing Yash and Pari before he let them in and pushed the elevator button. Yash made it upstairs and managed to open the door after many unsuccessful attempts. Well, you try to unlock a door while holding precious cargo in your arms.
Pari had a tendency to leave a light on in the flat. Following the soft light of the kitchen, he found his way into her bedroom placing her gently on the bed. He flicked her lamp on and removed her heels. He gazed her at for a few moments. God, he loved this woman so much. He would marry her the next day if she agreed. If only she would agree. He leaned down and brushed her side bangs away from her eyes. She stirred slightly before clutching his hand.
Yash involuntarily smiled at her touch before gently prying his hand away. Pari's eyes fluttered open.
"Yash, why do you love me so much?", she whispered softly, her voice still husky from sleep.
Yash sighed and sat down at the edge of the bed, reaching for her hand. "I don't know, sweetheart. I just do. I know that I can't live without you. I can breathe without you but I know I wouldn't be able to live if you were to be not to be in my life tomorrow. Now that I know how beautiful life is with you. I want to live this life till I die."
Pari's eyes filled with tears. "I love you too, Shergill. I really don't deserve you but I am so thankful to have you in my life."
Pari sat up and threw her arms his shoulders, holding him tightly. Yash reciprocated, bringing his arms around her waist.
"So, when are we going to see your family?", she asked.

"Only when the plane took of for India, I was able to breathe in peace. But after getting to Hoshiarpur, I realized I had made the biggest mistake in thinking my family would save me."
Flashback
Geet stepped down from the bus as it lurched to a stop at the Hoshiarpur bus stand. She had safely made it from Toronto to Delhi but she couldn't help but look over her shoulder every two seconds, ever since she landed in Delhi, half expecting to see a furious Vikram on her tail, yanking her back with a harsh pull on her hair.
Clutching her bag close to her chest, and looking a paranoid idiot to the rest of the world, Geet glanced around to the once familiar sights of her village. It was ten at night but Geet decided she was going to walk the distance home. She didn't want to take a lift incase she encountered someone she knew. She wanted to see her family first, tell them the truth before it came time to face the villagers.

Geet stood transfixed at the sight Dada ji's ancestral house, unable to go through the gate. She had come so far but now, she wasn't sure about her decision. What if... ? No, You came this far, Geet. You owe it to yourself to be free, she told herself. She took a deep breath and took a step forward to the haveli.
She knocked timidly on the oak door, tempted to run back. A few moments later, the door opened, and her younger sister, Raji squealed at the sight of her.
"Didi !", she threw her arms around her sister. She had grown so much over the years. Her family used to send photos to Canada once in a while but to hug her sister close after all this years, Geet couldn't even begin to describe her feelings.
"Geet", she heard her name from various family members as the family slowly gathered around the sitting room as Raji pulled her through the door. Her aunts and uncles, Dadaji and cousins were all there but Geet's eyes for searching for one person.
"Geet", a voice called out. Geet turned towards the person and saw her mother standing at the base of the stairs.
There was an expression of happiness and shock all around. Her mother looked like she was in tears. Ignoring everyone else, she let her bag down as she ran into her Ma's open arms. She held to her mother tightly as she hid her face in her bosom. She let her tears flow, as she became her mother's daughter again after all these years.
"Geet, my bacha", Her mother cradled her face and kept showering kisses all over her face before she embraced her again.
"Geet, what are you doing here all of the sudden ?" , her Dadaji asked. An eerie silence fell over the room as her grandfather spoke.
"Haan Geet puntar, you didn't even inform us.", Mohinder said.
Geet looked around the room as everyone awaited answers, and noticed the stern expressions of her uncle and grandfather.
She felt her throat close up, unable to utter a word. She had prepared herself for this, the truth eventually had to come forward.
"Umm, Actually..Dada ji..."
"What will she tell you ? I will tell you all the truth.", Geet heard the anger filled voice of her brother cousin, Brij Veerji. Geet cringed in fear at his loud, harsh voice. She had never liked her cousin brother. He had bullied her since childhood days, not to mention it was because of him, she had to marry her abusive husband.
Geet turned to face him. He glared at her and her eyes downcast as soon as they met his glaring eyes.
"Vikram called. Your precious Geet tricked him and ran away from home!"

I will try my best to give another update soon thou university just kicked in as of Monday. But I think I gueniuely struggle to write this story, maybe it's the essence of dialogues that just don't seem to fit in English when I am trying to show HP scenes..i don't know really😕
Thank you for reading. Feedback ?😳
