It was almost midnight when Kushi and Arnav waked into the Raizada mansion. They avoided looking at each other and quickly went their seperate ways . Arnav marched into his bedroom, determined to take a very cold shower to get rid of the hardness that seemed to plague him every since he had shared that passionate and exhilarating kiss with his new bride in the cabin. As he was about to walk into the shower stall, he made a mental note to himself to call Aman tomorrow and have his cabin altered.

On the other side of the mansion, kushi was in the kitchen, munching on some delicious jalebis. Her thoughts kept running back to the kiss that she had shared with her husband. What the hell am I doing ? Kissing him like an obsessed woman. I have to stop going near him. He makes me want to do things that are completely shameless. Laad Governor !!!

Anjali walked into the kitchen to notice her new sisterinlaw munching on jalebis and in deep thought . She had to call her four times before she finally caught her attention. 'Kushi ! Tum theeko na ?" inquired Anjali in a worried tone .

Kushi came out of her reverie and tried to focus on what her husband's precious sister had just asked. "Yes Anjeli ji ! I'm okay. I was just thinking, that's all " Kushi tried to explain hastily.

"About my brother ? "

"How did you know Anjali ji ? " inquired kushi in a shocked tone . In confusion, she murmured " Was I thinking aloud again ? "

Anjali let out a peel of laughter and kushi merely looked sheepish. "No, no . It was simply a guess . Now tell me what has my broher done that has you all so worked up ? Now don't go about asking me how I know that. You only eat jalebis when youre either very happy, deeply upet or in critical thinking mode ".

" It's just that Anjali ji... " Kushi's voice merely trailed off; unsure of what and how to explain her predicament and feelings when it came to her Rakshas. Now what do I tell her about ? How the Laad Governor had treated me so formally in front of all the coworkers, worked me to death, made me search for a file that did not want to be found,or kissed me senseless ? . Taking a deep calming break, she replied " It's not that Anjali ji. Its only been a few days since we've been married and he not only brings me to work but also comes home so late. I was just worried as to what people would think. I've become the bahu of this house thus I should also behave like one . I hope Nani wasn't too upset by our late arrival " confessed kushi even though she felt guilty for not revealing all the other reasons for her melancholic mood .

Anjali only shook her head in amusement and proceeded to pacify her brother's wife . " Kushi, you honestly worry too much. Nani and I would never think so low or ill of you. By changing our chotay itself, you've become the perfect bahu we could've ever desired for . Up until now we've always been worried about Arnav constantly working too much and alone at that too . But now that you're there we knows that someone is there to take care of him, make sure he eats on time or that he's taking his medications properly. And for that we can never demonstrate how grateful we are to you . So don't you ever go about worrying about being a good bahu and all; you're just perfect ! " Anjali leaned forward and placed kisses on Kushi's cheecks in affection . " Now finish up your jalebis and we'll go up to our respective husbands!!! "

It was an hour later and Kushi stood in the shower, drying herself out . The talk with Anjali ji has only made me feel worse . I didn't even ask Arnav ji if he had eaten or not . No!! I was too busy being absorbed in my own worries and problem; being selfish . What ? Why should I care ? I've only been married to him for two days and i'm already acting like a dutiful wife ! This is absurd kushi ! You've hated this guy up until now so why the sudden change of attitude and overwhelming sense of care and protection ? Ummm I don't know ! Maybe it's because of the fact that when he kisses me, I loose all my senses and completely become unaware everything but him or due to the way his mouth makes me crazy with passion . Kushi snap out of it !

Kushi let the towel fall to the floor and draped herself with the purple night gown Arnav had ordered for her . Hmmm this material feels so good ! Now let me go see if I can go and prepare a small dinner for my dear hubby . Dear Hubby ??? Hey Devi Maiyya. Its his kisses I'm telling you!!! They''re driving me insane!

When Kushi walked into the bedroom half and hour later , she was suprised to see Arnav sitting in the gigantic red satin/blanket covered bed, watching T.V. Now isn't this a first ?

Arnav looked over at Kushi and noticed the plate of food . He watched her in silence as she plopped herself next to him , gave him the plate to hold , made herself comfortable and then retrieved the plate back. And here I was hoping that she'd care to give me some.

"So what are you watching ? " inquired kushi with a mouthful of rice .

"BBC news is presenting a documentary on the advantages of ethical business tactics " answered Arnav all the while eying the platter of rice and chicken curry.

He looked back up to see Kushi looking at him incredulously. Puzzled he asked " What ?"

"Ethical business tactics ? Are you kidding me ? Cant you find anything more amusing to watch ?"

In defense Arnav replied hotly "Its interesting, important and I find it amusing "

What have I married myself to ? Heyy Devi Maiyya. Suddenly Kushi had an epiphany. Laad Governor never needs to know that this dinner was prepared for him in the first place. Smiling genuinely, she bargained " How about this. I'll exchange this plate of food for the t.v remote ?"

Arnav looked at the documentary and then back to the platter of food. He knew he could call OP and demand for food but he wanted the platter that Kushi had prepared herself. He wanted to taste her food. " Deal!!!" With that he threw her the remote and pried the food out of her hands.

Later that night, both Kushi and Arnav fell asleep to the sounds of "Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon's Rabbe Ve music", and drifted off into blissful dream, of each other.

😃 So next chapter will be up in a week's time. Hope you guys liked the update even though there wasn't much Arhi. I'm going to try to finish this FF pretty soon so expect a consummation and confession scene in the near future. I simply feel like I've dragged it a bit too much so I'll try to end it at a reasonable pace. Please do like/comment if you can. I'm too tired to pm everyone so will try to do that tomorrow.
