Achha now coming to the 'kaam ki baat'...😳...actually maine socha tha...I wont be anywhere near writing fics...till my results are out...😆😆 (yeah this was a stupid thing thought by me)...lekin ab ye break karne me mujhe darr lag raha hai 😳😆...I knw...isse result badal nahi jayega...and in fact...I already hav access to studying Microbiology/ Biochemistry (which I wud very much like to do)..😳...still...I want the engineering result to cum out first!! And 2-3 days me result shud be out...so a lil more of w8ing!! 😳

I knw...am a stupid and such a gr8 pain to u all...Droplets jitna khichta jaa raha hai...even I am frustrated wid myself and my pace......but pls w8 for few more days!! I will definitely try to UD by October!! 😊

Meanwhile...thanks for being patient all this while...😳😳...I will be back soon...promise!! Its just...am not able to concentrate these days...😕...so just a lil more delay!! SORRY & THANKS!! 😳

Part # 23

Ashna: Kal maine tumhare aankhon me pehli baar dard dekha. Aur main bas itna janti hu ki wo dard main phirse dekhna nahi chahti. It hurt me and I hate to be hurt.

Adil only managed to stare at her unblinkingly while she stared back. This tym also she didn't avert her gaze, in fact hers was so strong that Adil finally looked away.

Adil: Get one thing in ur head very clearly Ashna. You must always stay away from my issues. This matter doesn't concern you. So just stay away.

Ashna: Lekin...

But Adil left even before she cud begin, let alone complete. This slightly offended Ashna.

"Arre rudeness ki hadh hoti hai. Ghamandi kahin ka!! Aisa bhi kya kiya maine?"

That night, Adil cudnt close his eyes even for a moment. Becoz as soon as he wud do that he cud see her staring back at him. There was something strange and new abt the way she looked at him. Her words were ringing in his head:

Main thoda bahut care to kar hi sakti hu, hai na?

Kal maine tumhare aankhon me pehli baar dard dekha. Aur main bas itna janti hu ki wo dard main phirse dekhna nahi chahti. It hurt me and I hate to be hurt!!

Even Adil didn't realize how fast his heart was beating at the very thought. At one point he was forced to leave the bed as he felt suffocated around her!!

After a while he was in the shower and he let it fall directly on his face wid full force. He didn't knw if sum droplets of tears dared trickling down his cheeks, but he surely didn't want them to. He perhaps thought the forceful shower wud prevent them from going against his wish.

In the morning Ashna didn't find Adil at home. He had left way too early. She was clearly displeased, yet let it be. But she got disturbed when he didn't pick up her call all throughout the day. She cudnt concentrate on work and was getting restless. So she called up at the office number. They said Adil was there only, but he had strictly forbidden to forward any calls to him, even from her!!

At night she was staring at her mobile and thought abt wat happened at dinner just now.

Rashi: Oh Mom, AB ne call kiya tha. He said he will be late, but u must not worry!!

Ashna: Adil ne call kiya? I mean...

Rashi: Haan. Kyun?

Ashna: Nahi wo...

Rashi: Ohh. U must be thinking mujhe call kyun kiya!! May be aap se connect nahi ho paa raha tha, that's why!!

"Connect nahi ho paa raha tha? Maine pura din uska number try kiya, and connect nahi ho raha tha? Stupid mobile!!" (and she threw it hard on the floor)

And this suddenly became Adil's daily routine. He wud leave early for office and get back late at night. Ashna didn't knw wat was wrong wid him, becoz she hardly had the chance to even glance at him.

On the other hand, Shekhar was back, much to Adil's pleasure!! Even Rishabh had mellowed down and was working quite diligently. Though unwillingly, Adil had to admit that Ashna did the right thing by knocking sum sense into him.

"Shayad main kuch zyada hi rude tha tumse. Lekin ye bhi sahi hai ki tumhe mujhse aur mere mamlo se dur rehna chahiye. You shud stay away Ashna."

Here Ashna was very upset. It didn't take much of her brain to finally realize that he was avoiding her. And to her surprise, the feeling was too suffocating. She never realized it wud affect her so much to realize that he didn't care enough!! She had sumhow taken it for granted that he cares for her and perhaps also that he wud eventually be hers!!

Next day, she shows up at RGI during lunch time, much to Adil's surprise.

Adil: Tum yahan?

Ashna: Haan. Tumse kuch baat karni thi. To socha we'll talk over lunch.

Adil: Lekin main...

Ashna: Mujhe pata hai…tumhari meeting 4.30 baje hai. Iske pehle u r free. So shall we?

Adil: Shall we what?

Ashna: I was thinking kahin bahar chalte hai.

Adil: No need.

Ashna: Yes need. Abhi chalo. (and she almost dragged him out of his cabin before he cud retaliate)

Adil: Kar kya rahi ho tum? Aise khinch ke kyun le jaa rahi ho?

Ashna: Kya karu!! Tum ghee ho na….sidhi ungli se nikalte hi nahi ho.

Adil: What? One minute, tumhe kis bare me baat karni hai mujhse? (now they are walking towards the car)

Ashna: Haan?

Adil: I said tumhe kis bare me mujhse baat karni hai?

Ashna: Wo sochke bataungi.

Adil: Kya?

Ashna: I mean...pohuchke bataungi. Pehle restaurant tak pohuch jaye? (now he was abt to take the driving seat) Ek minute, let me drive please?

Adil: Tum?

Ashna: Kyun? Main drive nahi kar sakti kya? License bhi hai mere paas samjhe? Samajh ke kya rakha hai?

Adil: Okay fine. Chillao mat. U may drive!!

After a while, they pass by a restaurant.

Adil: Arre yahin rokte hai na? Dur jane ki kya zarurat hai?

Ashna: Nahi, mujhe yahan ka paani pasand nahi hai.

Adil just raises his eye-brows but doesn't say anything. He knew by now that she was being crazy today, so he remained silent till she reached where she wanted to.

Adil: So tumhe yahan ka paani pasand hai. I am sure yahan ke paani me hydrogen and oxygen ke alawa koi aur element hoga, ryt? Lets go!!

At first, Ashna was left open-mouthed at his comment but then she let out a smile which eventually turned out to be a blush!!

Entering the restaurant Adil finds it empty. In fact there was only one table for two.

Adil: Ye sab kya hai?

Ashna: Kya sab kya hai?

Adil: Tumne pura restaurant book kiya?

Ashna: Ohh wo. Haan, isn't it obvious? Warna yaha koi to hota!!

Adil: I meant to ask, tumne pura restaurant 'kyun' book kiya?

Ashna: Erm…actually mujhe wo tumse ...wo..ek..akela….. ermm…

Adil: Akele me?

Ashna: Haan wo bhi keh sakte ho. But there was a more beautiful hindi word…..kuch akela jaisa hi sound karta hai...ak..ek…ek…

Adil: Ekant?

Ashna: (smiles widely) Exactly. Ekant!! Ekant me baat karni thi mujhe tumse!!

Adil: I am sure u have sumthing very important to discuss wid me. Hai na?

Ashna: Haan? (and she suddenly gets nervous as she didn't have anything even slightly important to discuss wid him)

Adil: Kya hua? C'mon (and he pulls a chair for her) take ur seat.

Ashna: Hmm...

Adil: Waiter, pls get a glass of water for the lady. Till then we'll decide the order. So Ashna, paani ke alawa yahan ka aur kya kya achha lagta hai tumhe?

Ashna: (mumbles) Mujhe kya pata? Pehli baar ayi hu yahan.

Adil: Sorry? I didn't get you!!

Ashna: Menu card do, main order karti hu. (she places an order for herself and then asks him to do it for himself)

Adil: Just make it for two!!

Ashna: (surprised) That's interesting!! Tumhe bhi yehi sab pasand hai?

Adil: Actually main har tarah ka paani pee sakta hai aur almost har tarah ka khaana bhi khaa sakta hu. I don't have much likes or dislikes.

Ashna: Hmm. Rashi ne bataya tha ek baar!!

Adil: (sarcastically) Achha? That's gr8!! (now seriously) Abhi kaam ki baat kare?

Ashna: Haan, wo…..!! Actually...

Adil: Kya hua? Abhi to pohuch bhi gaye hai. I guess u can talk now.

Ashna: Pehle khaa lete hai. Mujhe bhukh lagi hai.

Adil: Okay. But mind you!! 4.30 baje meri meeting hai. Cross check to kiya hi hai tumne. So tum janti hi ho ki mujhe jaldi nikalna hai. Just keep that in mind ok?

Ashna: Hmm, ok.

They have their lunch smoothly. Though nervous abt wat to talk later, Ashna was still smiling for being wid him. She observed him very keenly and came to a decision that he had a very cute way of eating!! But when her mind asked her wat was so cute abt 'sum way of eating'...her heart hushed it up saying it was inexplicably cute!!

Adil: Ashna!! Chale?

Ashna: Abhi?

Adil: Hmm. Tumhe drop karke meeting ke liye jaana hai. I don't like being late. Waise bhi hum dono jante hai ki tumhe koi zaruri baat nahi kehni hai.

Ashna: (lowering her eyes) Ok. Chalte hai.

They had a quiet drive till her office. But when she is abt to step out of the car, Adil speaks up.

Adil: Thank you for the lunch. Wahan ka khaana bhi achha hai aur paani bhi. (at this Ashna lets out a small smile) Lekin mujhe ye sab pasand nahi. I don't like such interference in my work!!

Ashna: I just wanted you to…...be with me? (she thinks in her head) Ahh….to relax for a while!! Tum kuch dino se bahut zyada busy rehte ho. Subah se der raat tak office me rehte ho, shayad mujhe avoid karte ho!!

Adil: (caught a lil off-guard) Aisa nahi hai...avoid kyun karunga!!

Ashna: Its okay!! Its ur call. Main bas tumhe itna batana chahti thi ki tumhe meri wajah se khudko stress karne ki zarurat nahi hai. Though I don't knw, maine kya ghalat kiya hai, but pls don't detach urself like this. I feel...(and she doesn't complete as she didn't knw how to tell him, how hard she found it to breathe wid the thought of him being so detached from her. So she just smiles away) Bas itna hi kehna tha tumse!! Isiliye ye date...(bites her tongue)...I mean ye lunch arrange kiya tha!! That's it. Bye & thanks for listening to me. (she gives another cordial smile of hers after one long look at him & then gets down from the car)

But that night too, Adil comes home late. He didn't want her to feel that he came early becoz of her. However, he finds her awake much to his surprise. She seemed sleepy, but was still awake.

Adil: Tum abhi tak nahi soyi?

Ashna: Obviously. Agar main jaag rahi hu to iska matlab main nahi soyi, ryt?

Adil: Okay, let me rephrase it. Tum abhi tak 'kyun' nahi soyi?

Ashna: Bas ainvayi. Sone ka dil nahi tha. But abhi abhi aya hai--Dil. (smiles and yawns) I mean to say, abhi sone ka dil hai, so gud night.

And she falls asleep in just few moments!! It was obvious that she had been w8ing for him to return. And this continues for few more days, she just wudnt sleep until he was home. So finally he gives in to her & gets back home as early as possible. Though he was not too happy abt this, Ashna was!! Her heart screamed with joy yet another time saying he cares for her, more than enough!!

One day, after dinner, Rashi was pacing to and fro and seemed really nervous abt sumthing.

Rishabh: Hey miss See-saw!! Tujhe kya hua?

Rashi: Kuch nahi. AB ka wait kar rahi hu.

Rishabh: Anything important?

Rashi: Yes, very important. (mumbles) Wo idiot mera sir khaa raha hai.

Rishabh: Kya?

Rashi: Kuch nahi Bhaiya. Main bas AB ka wait kar rahi hu.

Rishabh: Wo suna maine. Khair, lagta hai tu batane ke mood me nahi hai.

Rashi: Sorry Bhaiya. Mujhe pehle AB se baat karni hai.

Rishabh: Hmm. Ek minute, kisi ladke ka chakkar hai kya?

Rashi: Ladka? Koi ladka nahi hai Bhaiya.

Rishabh: To kya ladki hai?

Rashi: What? No!! Ladka hai...

Rishabh: Hehehe...kaun hai?

Rashi: You are very tricky Bhaiya. Main aapko nahi bata rahi hu. Pehle AB ko batani hai & then jo hoga dekha jayega!!

Rishabh: Okay fine. But suppose wo gussa ho jata hai, to kya karegi?

Rashi: Aap aur Shaleen ek jaise ho. You guys are so negative abt AB. Mere AB aise nahi hai aur wo kabhi mujhse gussa nahi hote. And Shaleen is not sum crap guy, wo bahut achha hai. I am sure AB usse milenge to...

Rishabh: Oh so its Shaleen?

Rashi: Huh? Oh no...maine aapko naam bhi bata diya? Aap jao pls!! Mujhe aapko aur kuch divulge nahi karna hai.

Rishabh: Achha chal thik hai. Waise itna kuch keh diya hai to ek aur baat puchhta hu. Its Shaleen...what?

Adil: Shaleen Singhania!!

Rashi: AB?

Adil: Son of Vikram Singhania. Has spent most of his life in Singapore. Kuch months pehle Mumbai aya tha, for a vacation lets say!! Last month hi Singapore lauta hai. And u have been dating him for...

Rashi: (speaks softly) 3 months…..

Adil: ……and 12 days!!

Rishabh: Impressive!! To tumhe pata tha?

Adil: I had to find out. Main tujhpe nazar nahi rakh raha tha Rashi. I trust you completely. But I had to make sure he was the right guy for you!!

Rashi: He is a gr8 guy AB.

Adil: Don't u think, that's why u r still being able to date him?

Rashi just lowered her eyes while a smile creeped up on her face. It was little embarrassing to talk abt her love in front of two of her elder brothers, that too when her AB knew abt it all along!!

Adil: Why dont u go inside Rashi? And don't worry abt this thing anymore. Main dekh lunga ok?

Rashi: Thanks AB. Love you!!

Rishabh: Jhoothi. Love him ha?

Rashi: Dhat, aap bhi na. Am going!! Bye.

Rishabh: Haan haan kyun nahi. Ab to tujhe phn pe khush khabri deni hai na, pappu almost pass ho gaya!!

Rashi just made a face & left quickly.

Rishabh: (smiles) She is happy!!

Adil: Yes she is!! (and he is abt to leave when Rishabh speaks up)

Rishabh: U knw, mujhe hamesha hi pata tha tum sab kuch sambhal loge!! Dad ko bhi pata tha. Isiliye unhone sab kuch tumpe chhod diya!! U never need me Adil.

They both stare at each other silently for a while. Both were trying to convey sumthing thru silence, but silence has always been pricey!! It never presents itself too easily.

Rishabh: Anyways, its incredible ki tumne uss ladke ka pura biodata pata kar liya!! Kaise kiya?

Adil: Kaise kiya wo batana thoda lengthy hoga. Tarike to bahut saare hai, but kyun kiya ye bata deta hu. Rashi ek bahut hi sensible ladki hai Rishabh, if she was dating sumone then it meant sumthing serious!! Isliye ladke ke bare me pata karna maine sahi samjha!! After all, she is not like you who have had the longest relationship of 1 month?

Rishabh: ….and 6 days!!

Adil: Oh yeah!!

Rishabh: Hey not fair. Tum meri bhi jasoosi karte the?

Adil: Nahi. Zarurat hi nahi padhi. Kuch aur saal rehte to Toronto ke history me shamil ho jate tum, for dating the most number of girls in shortest possible time!! (mumbles) Idiot!! (loudly) Waise dinner kiya na? (Rishabh nods his head in a yes) Then abhi sone jao. Gud night!!

As Adil was coming back to his room, he found Ashna in the way.

Adil: Wud u pls leave me the way?

She moves aside and they both start walking together into their room.

Ashna: Tum to kaafi chhupe rustam nikle!! Sabki love life ki khabar rakhte ho tum!! Not bad!!

Adil: Sabki nahi. Bas unki khabar rakhta hu jo zaruri hai.

Ashna: Hmm. Waise khud itne unromantic kyun ho?

Adil: What?

Ashna: Hum dono jante hai tumne suna maine kya kaha!! So am not gonna repeat ok? Anyways, don't worry!! Iss waqt tum thake hue ho to pareshan nahi karungi tumhe!! Baad me ok?

Adil: To jab main thaka hua nahi rahunga tab tum mujhe pareshan karogi and thaka dogi. Right?

Ashna: What? No!! Maine aisa to nahi kaha!!

Adil: But that's wat it sounded like!! (he shrugs his shoulder and leaves)

Ashna was dumbfounded for few moments and then colour rose to her cheeks again as she smiled.

"Stupid"
