Chapter 6: Choosing A New Path

'What is this place?'

'People call them pubs Khushi'

'Shut up arnav. Obviously I know we're at a pub. But weren't we suppose to be at ayaan's party'

'This is the venue for ayaan's party'

'You sure?'

'Typical' Arnav muttered. 'Ofcourse I am'. And he began to walk to towards the door. Khushi followed.

They entered the place and Khushi breathed in the stale air.

'Ew don't these people use deodorants'

'Lol. Oh c'mon'. Arnav steered Khushi towards Ayaan. He was standing by the bar with a couple of friends of his.

'There's my man, 'Ayaan said out loud as he saw arnav walk towards him, 'Hey Khushi. Glad you could make it'

'Hi.' Khushi smiled. 'Oh yeah umm me too'

'Why don't you show Khushi around' Ayaan said to a girl standing on his left. She was wearing a black spaghetti strip dress that complimented her figure well.

'Sure' she said and took off with Khushi.

Arnav's gaze followed Khushi. She looked beautiful. Over the last week arnav had become a pro at keeping his f

'Who was that?' Arnav asked Ayaan.

'Oh her, She's just a friend. I met her at Karan's place few weeks ago. But leave her. Lemme introduce you to my new catch'

'Dude I thought you were with Alisha'

'Ohh yeah we broke up. C'mon'

Arnav rolled his eyes but followed Ayaan.

'So that guy with you were with… Are you two together?' asked the girl . Khushi didn't know her name yet.

'h no no. We work together. He's just a friend'

'Oooh so that means he's available. Yayee'

'Khushi laughed 'You liked arnav'

'Yesss! He's soo hawt. And those eyes of his are so deep. What's his name?'

'Oh its Arnav. Arnav Raizada'

'So that's Arnav. I must say he's way more attractive than I've heard'

'What's your name?'

'Oh I'm so sorry. I'm Lavannya. And you're Khushi?'

'Yep'

The two women sat at the near by sofa and continued chatting, mostly about arnav. Lavannya kept asking questions about him. She really seems to be into arnav, thought Khushi.

Khushi didn't realize hat it had been an hour when arnav and Ayaan walked up to the ladies.

'Hey Khushi up for a dance?' Ayaan asked.

'Sure'. Thinking that it would give Lavannya some time alone with arnav.

Once on the dance floor Ayaan asked Khushi, 'So Khushi. Had fun?'

'Yeah. Lavannya kept me company'. She looked over to where arnav and Lavannya were sitting. The two seem to be having a nice time.

A minute later arnav and Lavannya joined Ayaan and Khushi too and the four of them danced together, laughing. Sometimes at other people's moves and sometimes their own … At 1130 Arnav and Khushi left the party feeling completely exhausted.

'That was fun. It had been long since I went to a party like that', said Khushi.

Arnav smiled, 'Welcome to my world'

After that the two didn't talk much. Exhaustion was taking over.

Arnav lay in his bed thinking about Khushi. She looked beautiful today at ayaan's party in her turquoise silk top. He wanted to tell to tell her so bad how much he liked the colour on her. But over the past week he had become a pro at keeping his feelings to himself. Perhaps that's why Khushi was comfortable with him again. There was still some leftover formality between thembut mostly it was the same now. And arnav didn't wanna ruin it. He swore to it.

'Good night Khushi. I love you.' He whispered and drifted to sleep.

'Hey. Working already? Khushi its nine in the morning'

'That's why we come to office arnav. To w.o.r.k'

'Yes but im still sleepy. Lets get some coffee'

'No you go ahead.'

'Oh c'mon. Please? If I go alone Hitler aka my dad will kill me.'

'Fine lets go'

'Yesss. Khushi you're the best.'

The two were sitting in the 'Last night was fun don't you think?' asked arnav.

'Yeah. Which reminds me, remember Lavannya?

'Yeah. What about her.'

'She was really into you. Kept asking about you. I think she really like you'

'Who doesn't?'

'Arnav no kidding. I seriously think she likes you'

'Lol ok so what do you want me to do?'

'Dude. Seriously? Im telling you she likes you and you're acting so dum. Talk to Ayaan about it. I think you should meet up with her. You know get to know her more'

'Alright I guess. The chick is hot anyways'

'Oh brother'

'What?'

'The chick?'

'Oh c'mon Khushi-'

'Yeah yeah. Lets get back to office. Work awaits'

'Huhh fine'

Later that night…

'Guess what? That girl Lavannya at my party? Dude she's really into you' announced Ayaan.

'Oh not again!'

'What do you mean?'

'Earlier today Khushi said the same thing'

'Yeah well she was right'

'Dude you know I like-'

'I do but you cant keep running after her. Give yourself a chance. You never know what you find along the way''

'Woah I didn't know you talk deep'

'Lol I dont. This is the after effect of watching movies with your girlfriend'

'Riight. Well ok I guess.'

'Wow. That was easy'

'It wasn't you. It's because of khushi. Khushi told me to give Lavannya a chance. I guess I really can't run after her. I mean if there were any feeling for me she wouldn't have asked me to do so. Who knows maybe with Lavannya things will change'

'That's my man, although you really need to go low on the love you know'

'Lol yeah I do. Up for a round on psp?'

'Hell yeah'
