CHAPTER 5: A NEW BEGINNING

'What?' Khushi froze. And then very slowly a smile spread across her face. 'Haha arnav! Nice try. You thought I'd fall for that? lol' There was no other explanation. Arnav had to be kidding. Of course he's kidding. He's joking around all the time.

Despite the moment arnav chuckled. 'No Khushi this is not a joke. I really want to be with you. For the last few days I've been thinking about you a lot. And instead of just thinking about I want to spend more time with you Khushi. '

The smile faded from khushi's face.

'But.. but.. I. Arnav I, I have to go. No please. I need some time.' Khushi turned around and walked as fast as her legs would allow her.

Arnav stood there for what seemed like hours. Crap. Ayaan get ready to pay. With that thought he left the farmhouse and drove away in his car.

'Hey. How was the meeting?'

'There was no meeting. Arnav lied to me.

'What? Dee what happened. Tell me!'

Khushi was exhausted but she had to share what happened with Anushka. She needed to. As she finished telling Anushka the whole story anushka's mouth hung open.

'Omg! Omg omg omg!!! Arnav singh raizada practically asked you out and you just walked out on him! Are you nuts? Why?'

'No I'm not nuts but I think you've lost you're mind. He's my boss's son. My partner. How can I date him? And on top of that I never thought of him as a friend nothing more. I don't believe he just did what he did'

'And I don't believe you. God! That was arnav singh- '

'I know who he is Anushka!'

'If you do then why didn't you say yes. He's the most eligible bachelor in town n probably even the whole of India.'

'Anushka I'm tired. I need to sleep. Good night'

'God night' said Anushka defeated. She knew there was no use arguing with Khushi now.

'Arnav? Yo dude! How'd it go? Said Ayaan standing at the front door greeting arnav.

'I. Will. Kill. You!' arnav snarled.

'Dude what did I do?' Ayaan took a couple of steps back.

'What did you do wrong? You! You're the one who made me confess, all that romantic dinner was to soften her up. To show her my romantic side. You said it'll work. Well you were wrong'

'Chill so what we'll think of another plan bro. No problemo'

'Another plan! Oh I'm going to kill you' and arnav began to chase Ayaan as Ayaan ran for his life.

'Arnav seriously dude chill. How was I suppose to know' Ayaan pleaded, out of breath.

'Dude I felt so stupid. She walked away and I was just standing there, watching her go.' Just as breathless. 'Oh why was I stupid enough to listen to you. Tired arnav stopped chasing Ayaan.

'Was?'

'Don't push me alright. I'm mad enough to behead you right now'

'Woah ok look I didn't know she means that much to you. God! The last time I saw you in such a rage attack was when I crashed your BMW. And even that wasn't this severe.'

'Oh well I'm glad you realize now Ayaan Mehta'

'Alight alright. So temme what happened'

'Huhh fine'. When arnav was done telling Ayaan the happenings of the night Ayaan looked way more optimistic then he did.

'But this aint so bad. She might still say yes. And you were gonna kill me? Huhh I'm hurt man'

'Not yet you aren't'

'Oh c'mon lets go out. You need some bromance to cheer you up'

Arnav was still angry at Ayaan. Actually he was more angry at himself. For some reason he was actually afraid that he might loose Khushi too soon. And beside it wasn't completely ayaan's fault.

'Lol no dude. I'll pass on any kind of romance tonight. But yeah lets go out'

'I don't believe you're doing this Khushi. You were never the one to hide'

'Anushka go away'. Just then the door bell rang.

'Anushka please get the door.'

'Fine', with that Anushka stomped out of the room!

Anushka opened the door to find a very handsome guy standing out their door.

'Yes. May I help you?'

'Umm yes I'm here to see Khushi. I'm arnav. We work together'

'Oh hi. Please come in. Ill send Khushi in a minute.'

'Thanks'

Dee is really mad. Just look at him. He's got such cute eyes. Anushka thought on her way to the bedroom.

'Dee there's someone here to see you'

'Who is-'Before Khushi could complete her question Anushka left the room.

Khushi walked into the lounge. She froze as she saw arnav. Oh my god. What's he doing here. Khushi thought.

She was about to turn around to escape into her room but it was too late. Arnav stood up and walked up to her.

'So what. Your hiding now'

'Huhh... I' I am doing no such thing'

'Yeah right. Then why weren't you in office today'

'I was sick'

'Ahan, you look fine to me'

'I just got better'

Arnav looked at Khushi for a minute and then took a deep breath.

'Khushi don't insult my intelligence please. I know why you didn't come. We need to talk. Sit'

'But- '

'Please.'

Khushi sat down and arnav sat next to her. 'Khushi about what I said yesterday. I don't regret that because that was how I felt. And I needed you to know. If you don't feel the same way that doesn't mean things have to get awkward and that you have to avoid me. Look ill never mention my feelings to you again. This project is important for both of us. We are partners and we can always be friends. Nothing more if that how you feel, I promise. Please come back to work.'

'Are. Are you sure that it wont be awkward for you I mean I understand you know. And I don't want you to feel weird- '

'Yes Khushi. Now are you coming?'

'Well if that's the case then guess yeah I am. I mean I guess you're right. Things shouldn't have to be awkward between us two.'

'Khushi when m I ever wrong'

Khushi laughed.

'Anyways get ready. We have an presentation meeting in half an hour. Dad will kill us if we don't get there in time'

'What?! God! Half an hour. How m I suppose to get ready? You HAD to give that long speech. Wasted god knows how much time.'

'Geez if you had com to office you would've had more time. Now go'

The meeting went well. Arnav and Khushi made it just in time and gave a winner presentation.

'Come I'll drop you.' Said arnav, testing his luck. If khushi's answer was yes then she was ready to forget last night. Khushi stood there for a while thinking and at last she smiled. 'Sure'

Yes! Arnav smiled inwards. This would be a new beginning for both of us, he thought. Arnav swore not to mess it up. No he won't mess up. This time he'll make sure she says yes.
