Chapter 6 (Temptation)

AR Villa:

When Aryan entered the house, it was midnight. Before going to his own room, he gave a visit to Piya. The door was ajar so but he still knocked twice and slowly pushed the door. Piya was sleeping so he closed the door again and went directly to Abhay's room. Both of their rooms were in corner of the 1^st floor, face to face. He knocked as usual and the grave voice of Abhay Raichand answered, "come"

He entered the room and gulped, "sorry bhai. I'm late."

Abhay was working on a file, threw it on the table and looked at his brother. Aryan took another gulp and muttered, "mar gaye!!!"

Abhay (looking furious): "Do you know she woke up today and even got out of the room. She was about to fall down while trying to walk. She's very delicate and weak right now. Someone always needs to be there to take care of her. Good lord, I was there. But you are the one who was supposed to take care of her."

Aryan (trying to apologize): "I'm extremely sorry I'm late bhai. But I was doing your work. I got all the information about Piya and no one police reports till now."

Abhay (still angry): "Fine. Then before taking a responsibility think twice if you can accomplish or not. She almost fainted. Just think if I was outside, she would have hurt again by hitting the marble floors. And do you know how many tons of questions I have faced today? Don't you know how much I hate to face humans!! She wanted to leave the house but later admitted she has nowhere to go. I requested her to stay here till her recovery and then she can go anywhere she wants to. Her questions are similar to a detective!!"

Aryan (cutting in): "Detective nehi bhai, usse thoda khatarnak!! Lawyer!!"

Abhay (clueless): "What? Meaning?"

Aryan: "I mean she's a LLB student. A very brilliant one, full scholarship holder. So future lawyer na!!"

Abhay (glaring at Aryan): "Is this the only information you got for which you are LATE?"

Aryan (now sitting down on the couch opposite Abhay): "nope. No information about her father, whether he's dead alive or anything. She is engaged to Jeh khurana. Son of Dipannita Khurana who's a business associate with Prabeen Jaiswal and well.. her wedding is within 9 days as last confirmed. They are also new in town but older then us but for some reason I couldn't find much information about Khuranas. Still working on that."

Abhay (flabbergasted): "her wedding is in 9 days? Then why she didn't she tell me anything today?"

The sudden change of facial expressions was not missed by Aryan, as a wizard he's more than just good to understand feelings weather it's a supernatural or a human. He always ignores Abhay's reactions, because he's not allowed to comment anything on them.

Aryan (slowly): "maybe she doesn't want to get married. We have seen remember she's crying before her engagement."

Abhay (thoughtful): "Maybe is not the word. You have to ask her. You talk to her and make her comfortable, these are not my thing. But be careful. She's still unwell and emotionally shattered. Don't ask her anything which hurts her, alright?"

Aryan (unable to control his mouth): "So you aren't really mad at me because I was late but you were more worried about her health?"

Abhay (shoot daggers at him): "Now what does THAT means?"

Aryan (quickly stands up to see the situation going out of his hands): "Nothing. My bad!! I should take a shower and from next morning, you don't even have to show your face to her. She's all my responsibility." And he quickly left the room without giving Abhay any chance to explain himself.

Abhay somehow didn't like Aryan's last line and he doesn't know why.

3 days later:

Jeh was upset after receiving a call from his friend Manish who informed him that the detective got no trace of Piya. Dead or alive, she has vanished. Noone has seen her or even no traces of leaving town. Jeh couldn't hide his disappointed but requested Manish to keep looking for her.

AR Villa:

Piya looked at the mirror. Dark circle under her eyes and her face looks sunken. However, good part is she has almost recovered now. She could move, walk and sit all by herself and mostly she takes her dinner with Aryan at the dining hall, ground floor and no longer at her room. She is still determined to leave this house once she's fully recovered. She thought of staying at her university hostel several times but the truth is Piya's still afraid of her mamaji and Jeh's mom. If Dipannita is involved in all this, surely Jeh knew it as well and maybe that's why no one looked for her. Strangely, instead of feeling sad for Jeh's betrayal, she feels safe here. Like no one could dare to harm her as long as she's here. She was never happy about the wedding and now no pretenses needed. To her biggest astonishment, she likes it here and don't want to leave this house. Her dignity doesn't allow her to stay here off course but she could never ever thank the people here enough who gave her a second life. And her dark knight, the man who saved her. She understands that Abhay avoids her but fate plays funny games. She has never seen him taking breakfast with Aryan and Piya and neither in dinner time ever. Aryan informed Abhay runs according to his own clock so no one knows what he does and when. Doesn't matter how 'sadu' Mr. Abhay Raichand is whenever she's around, he steals glances at her and that is not unnoticed by Piya. His deep blue intense eyes scan her like he could see through her making her shiver everytime. Aryan is rather soft and humble and polar opposite of what Abhay is. He politely asked her at the first day they talked if she remembers anything about what happened to her. She told whatever she could remember and also wanted to leave the place. It was Aryan who convinces her to stay there as long as she recovers and find a place. They would be more then happy to have her here. Piya was at first reluctant knowing the owner of the house is Abhay but Aryan reassured her that it is Abhay's decision. To Piya, both the brothers are now her savior, her messiah, angels who brought back to her in life. Still Abhay is an unfathomable mystery... Her thoughts were interrupted by Maria who brought a new yellow summer dress for her. Piya looked at the dress and sighed, "Maria, Doesn't Lady Raichand have longer dresses? Why her dresses are all so short?"

Maria shook her head, "No madame, sorry. Lady Raichand loves to buy new dresses so she left all her old dresses here before going abroad."

Piya reluctantly took the dress. According to Maria, Lady Raichand, the only sister of the Raichand brothers and the only lady who lived here. Piya was at first scared with the thought that Lady Raichand could be wife of Abhay!! Piya looked uncomfortable with the yellow summer dress without knowing, Abhay heard everything she just said.

Abhay never faced such strong temptation in his 200 years life other then temptation of blood. Whenever he heard Piya giggling in the garden with Aryan having breakfast, he felt a tang of jealousy hitting him. After that, he felt even worse for feeling that towards his brother, who loves him more than anything else in the world. I'm the one who told him to DEAL with her. It's not his fault. Truth is he loved to hear her giggles, the way she looks at him with her baby brown eyes every time Abhay is around her. Abhay could feel her eyes stick to him like glue and he fails not to look back all the time. He has no idea, what was happening to him. Worst part is, he tries to avoid her and they always landed up at the same place. 2 days ago, he heard someone was at the kitchen around midnight; he reached there within seconds and scared Piya like hell. Aryan was in deep slumber and whenever he sleeps, mostly he behaves like a close relative to 'Kumbhkaran'. Doctor has given medicine to increase Piya's taste bud since the drug made her weak so she needs to eat a lot. Piya was very embarrassed cause she felt hungry and she didn't want to disturb anyone. Abhay has to calm her down, made her sit at the chair and he found some chocolate cookies for her and saw her eating. She was having the cookies with milk like a baby and he couldn't help smiling. Unfortunately two people saw it. One is Piya who thought it was a mistake and another is Aryan who is not really a 'Kumbhkaran' and saw his brother smiling with a girl, making him feel like he could bang his head on the wall. Good for him, he's a wizard and Abhay can't feel his presence otherwise that night would be difficult for him.

Aryan skipped breakfast that day cause he has some errands to run, but surprisingly he came back for lunch which he rarely does. Having Piya in the house has changed the atmosphere all together. She is becoming a friend to him which is a good feeling and he has already included her as a family. He knew Piya would be happy to see him cause she stays alone at the house most of the time and Abhay plays hide n seek with her. When Aryan entered the house, he saw many boxes and shopping bags at their living room. 2 or 3 people were standing with hangers and some others came, took more boxes and went straight upstairs. Aryan stood there for a moment and looked back at the gate to make sure he has entered the right place. Then, he saw Maria standing at a corner and was self-assured it's indeed his own house. He quickly went to her and ask her, "Who are they? What are they doing in my house?"

Maria mouthed, 'They are designers Master Aryan, and they have brought dresses for Madame Piya to try on. Madame Piya is sick so she can't go outside the house. That's why Master Raichand have summoned them with all their collection so that Madame can choose her dress staying at home. Actually today morning she was telling me, Lady AR's dresses are too short. I think Master Raichand has heard us." Aryan scratched his head for a moment, trying to grasp what he just heard. He looked at the beautiful antic china vase beside him sitting on a pillar and thought of breaking it on his head to make sure, everything he heard and happening here is true. Then he realized he's an antic and he himself bought it from Bhutan once upon a time. So he abandoned the idea immediately.

Piya was embarrassed to the power infinity to have 3 designers standing around her, asking which color she would prefer. Whether she would like to try the top, if she would prefer having casual dresses or couture? Abhay silently watched her embarrassment and couldn't help laughing. Piya swiftly choose dresses she could wear and thanked them for their service. When she went downstairs all the people were gone and Maria informed her that Aryan is early at home today for lunch. Piya was happy to know that and asked when he will be coming. Maria said the lunch is ready and she would instruct their waiter to serve it and Piya can call Aryan at that time. Piya asked where Aryan's room is and went upstairs. She knocked at the right door of the last corner room of 1^st floor. No one opened and she pushed the door. It was open; she entered the room hesitantly and forgot to call Aryan by seeing the beauty of the room. The bedroom was huge and very organized, unlike a boy's room. The room was painted in black which Piya find very weird and even the quilt of the huge bed is black. Thanks to the pillows which were red blood, adding some color to the room. The huge wall cabinet of cherry wood is also painted black. There was no photo around the wall but painting of famous artists. She could recognize a copy of a painting which belongs to famous painter Michelangelo. Aryan is nowhere to be seen. She turned to left the room but bumped into a huge muscular body which was blocking her way. She bumped to the body very hard and the hands caught her by the waist to stop her from falling. To her horror, shock, pleasure or surprise, the body belongs to none other then Abhay Raichand who was right now holding her only in his towel which is wrapped around his waist. Piya forgot to breathe when she looked at her current position. Her body was inches away form his bare wet chest, water dripping from his hair, falling on his beautiful blue eyes which were looking extremely intense at this moment. His strong hand holding her by the waist and as soon as their eyes met, they both forgot to move from each other. Involuntarily Piya's hands moved on to his bare wet broad chest, exploring his gorgeous curves, setting Abhay's skin on fire. Abhay could feel his 200 years dead and cold skin was burning with her touch. The temptation of touching her right now, holding her closer was almost impossible to resist. Unwillingly, unknowingly they both went close together. One fighting with his desires, another forgetting the time, place, what she was doing everything. Nevertheless, Abahy's resistance was not that poor, he slowly moved his hands from his waist knowing she didn't even realize that. Abhay knew very well that if within 30 seconds, her hands doesn't move, he's going to do something stupid which he will regret later. He rudely said, "Watch your hands. They are trying to roam around illegal areas. You are not permitted to enter there!!" Piya came into her sense and with a jerk she moved from there. Her face flushed with embarrassment as his words stings. She moved instantly, mumbled something, trying to say sorry and ran quickly form the room. Abhay didn't miss the tears that were swelling up into her beautiful baby brown eyes. As soon as she left Abhay supported himself against a wall and closed his eyes. His body was trembling as well. "You are going to be the death of me and yourself Piya...why?? why?? " he thought while hating himself repeatedly for hurting her. He quickly changed and jumped out of his windows running fast towards the jungle. He could hear her cries from his room and he couldn't bear it.

Piya went directly to her room and closed the room, crying. "What's wrong with me? Why I can't control myself in front of him? I feel so cheap right now. So cheap..I hate myself" she muttered again and again.

When Piya didn't come for lunch, Aryan knocked her room and she slowly opened it after knocking several times. Aryan could see her moist eyes and understood something is wrong. Piya refused to take lunch and apologize. Aryan took a deep breathe and after 1 hour of cracking silly jokes and telling stories, he cheered her up and took Piya downstairs for eating something. She's recovering fast to eating and taking medicine by time is essential for her. Later Aryan saw Piya roaming in the garden and thought with a smile, "You have enlightened a graveyard with your sunlight Piya. I won't let you leave..."
