this update actually is past, written in Italic...the 5 days that I jumped up in last update😆

@Shaffy...Nupur was angry with Mayank for a different reason that transpired between them which I haven't put up until now...those are two different times😆

Part 33:

Nupur was today wondering a lot. She needed to talk to Mayank now. Mayank hardly believed in putting his thoughts into words at every other instance. She must appear so much clearer to him since she was a blabber mouth. But he was typically him. It was so hard to understand the emotions he went through since he chose to behave as if he hardly felt them.

No, he wasn't an emotionless guy, she knew, never a doubt there. But what she wanted to know was his feelings for her.

All that he had being doing recently with her - hugging, kissing, picking her up in his arms, did it all have a loose end at all? Yes, it was all right being her husband that he was! But she wanted to know if it meant anything to him at all?

Nupur was just lost in her own thoughts still when she came and after settling the casserole of parathas on the dining table, she herself made herself comfortable in front of Mayank and beside Shilpa Sharma.

Shilpa Sharma found it very strange to meet a silent Nupur at the table today and so did Mayank.

Shilpa Sharma put in just for the namesake, she liked Nupur's cooked food always, "Nupur, sabzi bahut achchi hai"

Nupur smiled and continued eating.

Shilpa Sharma found it even stranger because according to her if Nupur was given a topic; she knew how to use it efficiently for keeping the conversation on. She had noticed that Nupur was many times silent since marriage. As much as she knew Mayank and Nupur to be gems already, she sometimes wondered how well they got along since they argued a lot already.

Although Mayank had liked Nupur, that she knew even before marriage, but he never let on his feelings verbally or hardly showed too much of his softer side and specially his feelings, people sure had to dig for it which he hardly allowed. She believed, however that Nupur was capable of that and Mayank may allow her too. All that worried her was Nupur's way of acceptance of it all; she was becoming silent more than ever and as much as she knew Mayank, she was still getting to know Nupur, especially now as her daughter-in-law, she hoped it was not a bad sign.

Shilpa Sharma smiled back and being the composed woman that she was asked, "Tumhe pata hai, tum Mayank ko spoil kar rahi ho...kyunki ab tum forcefully cook karti ho aur Mayank ne kitne din se kuch nahi banaya warna woh mujhe help karta tha, you know!"

Nupur looked at Mayank startled when he said defending, "Kya? Mujhe aise mat dekho, tumhe hi apni efficiency dikhane ka shaukh hai...I can help you whenever you want"

He had said absolutely nothing like it but Nupur felt her cheeks burn when she heard that. Okay he had! Did he just talk about her efficiencyand wanting to help her in the kitchen.For a split second Nupur imagined herself and Mayank, working together in the kitchen which wasn't supposed to be a fantasy but seemed to her!

She returned back a favourable answer, favourable for her, "Aaj toh ban gaya khana! Kal kaisa rahega?"

Shilpa Sharma smiled.Mayank would manage it all, she realized, Nupur's smile was back again. Besides, there was something captivating in the looks that they exchanged now, more than ever. She didn't even miss out Nupur's blush. She also just now realized that they hardly had talked so amicably in front of her earlier, yes, they will be alright.

As Shilpa missed out on their conversation a little, she resumed back to it while she heard Mayank ask Nupur, pointing his finger to Nupur, "Nupur, yeh tumhare face pe kya hua?"

Nupur touched her cheeks wondering if her blushes were so noticeable. She could only blush harder at that! She looked at Shilpa to find the enstrangement for this statement of her son, but she didn't find any.

Mayank corrected her, "Wahan nahi...sar par..kya hua?"

Nupur realized her crazy mind and remembered what it was! She explained, "Arrey, woh...woh garam garam oil ke cheente aa gaye the jab main khana bana rahi thi..." Oh she prayed he didn't lecture her now for not being careful again.

He didn't.

Mayank assured, "Kal main tumhe sikhaunga ki bina apne aap ko nuksaan pahunchaye khana kaise banate hain. Right Ma?"

Shilpa Sharma agreed merrily, "Haan bilkul. Aur Nupur tum Mayank ko sikhana pyaar se banaye hue khane ki tareef kaise karte hain. Yeh usse bilkul nahi aata!" Shilpa ended the statement in a complaining tone.

Mayank just pressed his lips and nodded his head wondering why he had to always explain how good the food was. As long as he didn't complaint, it was supposed to mean that it was good.

Nupur now got the word that it wasn't in Mayank to praise food and stuff, he was more of a critical guy. She had wondered about this when she had first cooked. Strangely so, she felt relieved hearing this, that it wasn't something unusual in her that he didn't have much to praise about her, may be he was so always.

It was a simple and a beautiful dinner that Mayank was having today. The prospect of having such dinner from now on always was what made him feel really really happy. Nupur and his Ma's relationship is what he was very happy about. His two best people got along so well and he couldn't have asked for more.

Mayank was sitting on the couch in his bedroom, on a call, when Nupur came in with handful of nail-polishes in her hand and hardly able to contain it she dropped it all on the bed all at once.

Mayank was looking at her amused, she was a full time activity to look at when around.

He did away with his call whenNupur said, "Mayank yeh dekho kitne achche shades hain naa...Maa ne diye mujhe!"

Mayank smiled and said, "Hmm!"

Nupur wanted a bigger reaction, how would she talk with him ever if all he replied in was monosyllables like this? She frowned clearly.

Walking upto him she said, "Kya hmm? Kabhi toh thoda jyada bola karo Mayank! Mujhe aisa lagta hai ki tumhe mujh se forfully baatein karni padti hai" She crossed her hands across her chest as she sat down beside him.

Mayank looked in her eyes and said, "Tumhe sach much aisa lagta hai?"

He had said it so softly and choosing her answer for himself that she just had to nod her head in a no, though slightly. This is what happened with Nupur even at such a long distance from him, how would she do all the serious talks that she wanted to? She mentally pushed back the questions for a later query. Of course she had a lifetime to do that!

As she was just looking in his eyes, she heard him saying, "Come here!"

Mayank had indicated her to come closer to him, patting the space on the couch right beside him while he faced Nupur completely. Before Nupur knew, she was open-mouthed and trying to handle the warmth that she felt through her body just by that statement of his.

She felt herself immobile for a second and then she moved slowly towards him, still not very close enough!

Mayank touched her forehead where she had got a burnt mark and asked, "Iss par dava kyun nahi lagaya?"

Nupur was brought out of her trance when she heard that. What had she been expecting?

She answered, "Who main...mujhe pain nahi hai...theek ho jayega"

Mayank disapproved her answer with a glare and said, "Ek kaam karo...yahan se bahar jao...living room ke desk ke 3^rd drawer mein jo ointment hai woh lekar aao.."

Nupur asked, "Main?"

Mayank said in a quick tone, "Haan jaldi jao aur lekar aao..abhi! "

Nupur went away and did as told, wondering how she hadn't retorted for 'being told' to do something and doing it right away. She wouldn't let that become a practice that was against her personality.

As Nupur brought in the ointment, Mayank walked upto her and tenderly took away it away fro her and applied it to her, himself.

Nupur just looked at him, feeling a tear in her eyes for no specific reason as she heard him say, "Mujhe tum par bharosa nahi hai ki tum apne liye yeh sab karogi and dhyaan rakhogi...isliye ab mujhe hi yeh karna padega jab tak tum seekh nahi jaati..."

He touched the corners where he had just now applied the ointment and said, "Dekho kitna read ho gaya hai?"

And then, Mayank looked at her eyes which were teary to his utter enstangement. He said louder than he had intended for, "OMG Nupur, kahin tum woh filmy scenes ki tarah iss ointment ki baat se emotional toh nahi ho rahi ho naa...? Come on, sirf dawayi hi lagai hai!"

Nupur let herself giggle at this statement of his and replied back smiling, "Nahi!"

Mayank eyed her suspiciously and holding her around her shoulder started walking her towards the couch when she hugged him stopping him in his tracks.

She didn't know why she had done that, she hadn't known this feeling before, it felt high.

Later, in a few seconds, she realized that Mayank was so going to tease her for this when she parted away reluctantly, not wanting to over-do this when she saw a parting Mayank say laughing in dis-believe, "Nupur tum toh sach mein filmy ho...woh saari movies ka aisa asar hua hai tum par.."

Nupur smiled embarrassed and said, trying his own way to be stern, "Aisi toh koi bhi baat nahi hai...kal tumne bhi toh mujhe aise hi thanks bola tha..."

Mayank grinned as he saw Nupur trying to put up with her own statement while she was still computing if she had said the right words.

Nupur's state was normalized soon when she heard Mayank say, "Okay!" as if he had understood the meaning of it while he smiled and went off to sleep now while Nupur was left wondering behind.

She wondered a little more and went ahead to place her new nail-polishes in place after which she decided that she had to be more firm in asking things from him and he has to be more specific than he ever was!
