13.The Dance

Maan felt comforted that Geet was back with Daadi, as he joined them. He knew it wudn'it be long before dinner was served because Sam had gone to check the arrangement. He moved to sit next to Geet. As the drinks tray passed, he took a drink from it and saw Geet's eyes cloud over. She moved a bit closer to Daadi, away from him, casting an accusing look at the glass he was holding. He put the glass down and asked her softly so that Daadi wouldn't hear, "Don't you want me to drink?"

She gave him a quick glance, then lowered her head and shook her head in negation.

"Then dance with me!"

"I...I don't know how to..."

"You were dancing with Aryan, then why not with me?"

"Oh, that... Aryan tried to teach me, but I kept missing steps or stepping on his toes...so finally we decided it was better to do most of the others were doing...swaying with the music. I can't dance the way you do...the way Sam danced with you."

" That's okay...if I can't lead you, then we can always revert to your style." When he held out his hand with a naughty smile, she couldn't resist placing hers in his.

Maan was a good dancer and made it easy for Geet to follow his moves. Within a few minutes she stopped hearing the music with her ears alone...she heard it in the quick pressure of his hand on her back, the grip of his fingers on hers and the whirl of her own body. As the song came towards an end, he spun her out to an arms length and whipped her back. They finished with her arms hooked smoothly around her neck, her body fit to his. He was reluctant to let her go...the band announced the last song as dinner was served and just a few couples remained on the dance floor. When Geet started to move away, he whispered, "one more...this time your way!" The lights dimmed as the romance filled the air, one of her favourites of Sonu Nigam.

His hands on her back tightened ever so slightly, bringing her closer and closer until she was leaning into him. Maan brought the hand he was holding in his to place it on his heart. Her other hand was curved behind his neck and her head resting on his shoulder felt so natural. As the song progressed, Maan started crooning along with the singer, thinking how perfectly the lyrics suited him. As the lights dimmed further when the song ended, Geet was still in trance. Maan looked down to see that her eyes were closed. With a gentle chuckle he whispered, his breath tickling her forehead, "Come on Mishty, let's have something to eat before heading home."

ok haven't checked the spelling errors...giving u as much as i typed...will update the rest of this chapter, later as dinner beckons ...so happy? i gave Maneet 2 dances... can u imagine Maan croning the song...it's so melodious that u can't resist joining in😉

yeah i knw ...the chapter doesn't end here but wanted to leave sweet memories for a bit...next part of the chapter...ummm...it may repeat the impact of the first night of Recycled Destiny...so those who want sweet thoughts please stay away from the next till 2morrow
