Chapter 6

She just hated his gut to annoy her. How can she gets annoy when he does something like that…. "Yes that's because he is an uncivilized jerk." She concluded with finality.

She rang the bell. And radz's mom opened the door.

"hello aunty." She said politely.

She then went in … Radz and Geet both spent the whole day together.

"He was a complete jerk… I am telling you….. "Geet finished the entire story with a sigh…

"Geet tum jab se aayi ho… we haven't talked about anything but that boy." Radz said.

Geet glared at her.

"Ohh… I mean that JERK" she said hurriedly.

"Yeah now that sounds perfect." Geet said with a smile.

"Anyways… forget it." Radz said.

"Geet… what about that Maan Singh Khurana... did you find something. You said na that u'll inquire about him…" Radz asked.

"Umm….. I ask about him." Geet said smiling shyly.

"Geet you are in love with this Maan Singh Khurana." Radz said as she looked at dreamy face of Geet.

"Really… is it love?" she looked at Radz in surprise.

"Geet… what if, if he is old? I mean like my dad... or your dad… or like old… I mean.. like my grand mother???" Radz asked in tensed voice.

"Ohh come on Radz… if he is that old then why he will read fairy tales??" Geet said sitting with straight back.

"Hmm… but what if he too likes fairy tales and he is old then?" Radz asked.

"Well then… umm… I have not thought about it." She said shrugging her shoulder.

"Okay Radz. I think I should leave now. Its getting late." Geet said as she stood up.

"Okay Geet bye… give me a call when u reach home ok…." Radz said.

"I will.. I will.." Geet said as she moved out.

The next day too went like that.

The day came when there school reopened.

Geet reached school. She was with her friends- Radz and Sheila. They were passing the lobby when Geet saw the same boy the JERK with two wealthy looking men who depicted to be his guardian. He looked as arrogant and proudy. They both looked at each other.

Geet with murderous glare and the Boy with a smirk.

She hated him at that very spot. She just wanted to strangle him iff only his guardians were not there.

They crossed each other.

She came to one side and told both her friends.

"It's the same boy… the same JERK" she said with anger filled tone.

While she noticed Sheila was still looking at the back of his with dreamy look.

"Don't call him a JERK Geet. He is so HOT!" Sheila said with a dreamy look. " kaash tumhari jagah ye pehle mujhse milta."

"HOT my foot." Geet said and thumped her foot and walked off towards the Male staff room.

"Good morning sir" Geet addressed Mr. Kapoor" I am sorry I disturbed you in these early hours."

"Good morning." He too greeted her. "Its okay… yes what's the problem?" he asked.

"Sir I wanted to know some one… Maan Singh Khurana." Geet asked.

"What you have to do with him?" Mr. Kapoor asked him.

"Sir just…" Geet couldn't have completed when the bell rang.

"Anyways… Geet right?... Maan Singh Khurana is student of This School. He is your senior. "He told and got up from his chair and left.

Geet ran out.

"Could it be him? … NO" she thought and moved to attend her class.

After the school got over all the three friends moved out of class when Yash stopped Radz.

"Hey Radhika. Can I speck to you for a minute?"

"yeah sure…" Radz said in a low tone.

Mean while Geet and Sheila left them alone and both left for home.

* * * *

At night Geet was as usual reading one of her fairy tales when phone rang.

"Hello?" Geet said. "Hey Radz…. Hey hey hey…. Why are you sounding so upset?"

"What did he say?... What the……. Radz… tomorrow is test… you can't just miss it…. Radz hello."

* * * *

Next day

Geet and all the class including Yash were taking the test. Yash was sitting beside Geet. He looked at her. And she too looked at him and mouthed a word which confused him.

"Idiot" she exclaimed.

The test got over and all the children too dispersed.

As Geet was leaving the school premises Yash stopped her.

"Geet… why are you angry on me? What have I done?" Yash asked.

"Look this JERK is asking what he has done." Geet exclaimed in full anger.

"Geet" he said as he looked around, he did not wanted anyone to hear there convo. Wherein she was shouting. "Please can we walk in park and talk? Please."

She nodded.

Park:

"Geet… what is it? Tell me what I have done?" Yash asked.

"Do you even know why Radhika did not come for this test… it was just because of you." Geet said in anger.

"But why Geet? I did not say anything which would make her skip the test." Yash said all confused.

"do you remember what she said before leaving yesterday?" Geet asked narrowing her eyes.

Yes. She said "how could you even say that" he said in same words of Radz.

"Do you understand what it means?" Geet asked

"No I didn't… can you explain." He said not understanding a bit.

"You stupid…. How could you just ask her to DATE your friend? When... When she is in love with you." Geet said in one go.

"Wha…t?? You mean she loves me?" Yash exclaimed in astonishment.

"Yes you FOOL" Geet said.

"But… I don't love her… I mean … I always have loved… love YOU!" Yash said a matter of fact.

"Wha…ttt???" the last bit embarrassed Geet.

She did not know what to say more. She backed of and was just going to run away when Yash held her hand.

"Geet… I love you…" Yash said with all his courage. "Didn't you know this?" he asked her surprisingly.

"No" she said. "Yash I never thought about you that way. I mean you were always a good friend. But I cannot think of you as… as a lover. I am Sorry." Geet said in embarrassment.

"Do you love someone else?" Yash asked.

She nodded for a NO.

He let go her hand and she ran towards her home.

She never thought of anyone like that. They were always good friends. She laid on her bed and cried all day all night. She felt ashamed of her self. It was only because of her that her best friend Radz was in so much of pain.

* * * *

Next day she came out of her house and started walking towards the Antique shop. Only some distraction will be good and will help at this time she thought.

She reached the place. But to her fate… the shop was closed. She looked at the name plate it read Balwant Rai antique's shop. So there surname is Rai she sighed in relief.

She went back home disappointed.

It happened 2 times more.

But the 3^rd day too she went there but this time too it was closed. She this time looked inside through the glass panes. She today could not see the cat statue. May be it was sold the thought. She was just going to turn away when she saw the same kitten. A smile crept her lips. It was sitting just next to the door of the antique shop just behind the big vase. She sat along the door with her back towards the wall and started caressing the kittens' back.

"Why did this happen to me? Why I became the reason for my best friends sorrow?" Geet said as she put her head on the keens and started weeping.

After some time she heard the same voice.

"Geet."

She looked up. But this time it was no anger in her eyes for HIM. But today all he could see was a pain.

"Are you alright." He asked with concern.

She stood up. She nodded for yes.

"Why this shop is closed from so many days? Is your grandfather well?" she asked concerned.

"Ohh yes he is well… its just that he has went to the other town." He said looking at her.

"is that kitten yours?" Geet asked.

"No... Its not… but it comes here sometimes. People call it penny" he said with a smile looking at the kitten.

"Ohh so it's a vagabond." She sighed.

He just looked at her.

"Umm… I wanted to ask… if that cat statue is sold… I cant see it at that table", she said pointing towards the table through the glass panes.

"No… its there… You want to see?" the boy asked.

She nodded with a yes.

So this time it was more of that boy…
