Part:1

One year ago

She was late, and it was nothing new.

She ran across the campus to reach her lab, where her middle aged supervisor awaited her presence, with an irritated expression.

"Geet, you are so dead. Can't you for once be on time", shouted Meera, her lab partner and best friend.

"I am sorry Meer, mom was not doing well, I had to take care of breakfast", she replied.

"Anyways, hurry up. Hope you remember today is the last day to submit the presentation?"

"Yes, Meer. Let's go."

It was a long day for Geet and Meera, but it was nothing new. Being a research scholar was not an easy task, but they enjoyed all the hard work.

Now that the day has ended, they were about to leave for home, but not before having a cup of piping hot coffee at the University cafeteria.

"Geet, what happened to aunty in the morning?"

"Nothing much Meer, it was the same old joint pain. Don't know when will I be able to get her knee replaced."

"Don't worry Geet, you are doing your best."

Geet gave Meera a sad smile, and thanked God for the umpteenth time for sending a friend like her in her life.

After she dropped Geet home, Meera dragged herself to her flat, which had all the luxuries but no soul. She too was an only child like Geet but unfortunately she never had her parents around her to take care of.

Her father was one of the richest businessmen of Mumbai who provided Meera with everything money could buy, but not a family which she craved for. This was the reason that brought Geet and Meera together. They in a way completed each other.

She lay on her bed trying to fall asleep, just when her doorbell rang.

"Yash", Meera shouted after opening the door and pounced on the handsome young man who awaited her with open arms.

"How have you been, sweet heart", Yash said with his usual cheeky grin.

"Now, I am better. Come in."

Yash entered the flat with his ten suitcases.

"Yash are you alright. Did you bring all of Mumbai with you?"

"Oh, I'll need them Meer. We have a wedding to attend."

"What do you mean?"

"Pack your bags Meer, its Annie's wedding after 10 days and you are coming with me."

"What! Annie is getting married? And you are telling me now?"

"Don't be a drama queen Meer, it doesn't suit you. Everything was arranged in a jiffy. So hurry up. We have to pick up Geet as well."

"Geet? Do you think Geet will come for ten days leaving her parents?"

"We have to convince her Meer"

"Yash, why do I have a feeling that there is something more to this whole thing?"

With a twinkle in his eyes, Yash Singh Khurana , finally broke the news,

"Geet has to come Meer, bhai is back"

Meera screamed in delight and hugged Yash with all her might.

Ok sorry but i dont like the prologue because it sounds bad...but i loved the update :-)
