Sorry to interrupt in between your discourse...but even someone told me cgm used to drink a lot.surrounded by girlsthis line is little twisted...
What I know about this is...Emperor Chandragupt Maurya liked to drink alcohol and fell asleep due to consuming alcohol...and was picked up and taken away by his Lady courtesans...this one is mentioned in famous Bengalee features writer SHANKAR...AKA MANISHANKAR MUKHOPADHYAYA's one of legendary book RASABATI where the author very carefully tries to give every possible details about the cuisine and taste of ancient India and Bengal...This book covers the all six tastes...lavana, tikta, katu, kashai, amla and madhur...or salt,bitter,Katu or hot , bittery hot(there is no reference about Kahai rasa)(In Physiology there are only four taste.i.g.salt,sour,bitter and sweet.There is no mention of Katu and Kashai rasa),sour and sweet.And the author place the alcohol under the amla and katu rasa...and has given the details Alcohol's usage in ancient India...and while giving example the place of alcohol in life in ancient time author has mentioned Mauryan emperor's name...
As per my knowledge I read these things many times that CGM had an army of bodyguards of 1000 ladies who were assigned to serve emperor...now is this not possible that he was taken away by this lovely lady guards when he fell asleep due to consuming alcohol??? OR his army of body guards unfortunately who were all girls or lady leave him in peace during his free time??
One more thing I like to mention -whatever I have written here is not to intend to hurt anyone or anyone's feelings for a certain person or fav person...because I know how it feels being hurt and seeing your fav person gets hurt...I am here to give this clarification because I feel to clarify those above quoted words which are produced here with little twist...
once again I am apologizing as I have not so vast historical knowledge like you all but what I have told was as per the above mentioned book...I guess a well famed writer won't write anything without concrete prove...still if someone or someone's feeling gets hurt by this clarification...I am sincerely sorry.
