PART 10

Recap : Riddhima realizes she has fallen in love with Sid and Sid is distraught when he realizes Riddhima has fallen in love with him. Riddhima arranges a romantic dinner for both of them and Sid tries to confront her about her feelings but the baby kicks and Sid forgets everything for a few seconds and enjoys the feeling before reality strikes. Riddhima confesses her love to Sid.

"I love you Sid.."

Sid did not know whether he wanted to laugh or cry. There was a time when he would have given anything and everything to hear her say those words. But now.. Riddhima had fallen in love with him when she did not even remember him anymore. This shouldn't have happened. She was supposed to get her memory back. This was not how it was meant to be; they were not meant to be.

Riddhima : I love you.. I know I've hurt you a lot by forgetting you.. By forgetting all that was between us.. But in spite of having no memory to back me up, I've fallen in love with you anyways Sid, all over again.

She walked over to where Sid was standing and faced him.

Riddhima : Please Sid, take me back into your life as your wife. Please help me close the distances that separate us.

Sid looked at her and she saw a flash of the love that lay hidden in the depths of those eyes just for her before he looked away. She wasn't going to give up. As he started to walk away from her wordlessly, she caught hold of his hand and stopped him. She smiled a breathtakingly beautiful smile at him and all he wanted to do was gather her up in his arms and tell her he loved her. But he couldn't do that. Knowing she had no memory of their past whatsoever and even if they did build their life in this dream, both their lives would be shattered the day Riddhima regained her memory. He was willing to overlook everything, even the fact that she carried Armaan's child because that was how much he loved her but she had and would always love Armaan. That truth would never change.

Riddhima : I know you don't want to close the distances between us because I don't remember you, I don't recognize you.. You are right.. I don't remember the person you were.. I only know the person you are right now and I know that I love you just the way you are and I want you.. I need you like I need air to breathe.. like I need my heart to live and to love..

The song "Aaja piya tohe pyaar doon" starts to play in the background and Riddhima tries to seduce Sid. She wraps herself over him as she serenades to him. She places kisses on his face but he turns away before she could kiss him on his lips. She hugs him from behind and places kisses on his back and he frees himself from her grasp. She does sensuous dance moves in front of him but he looks away. Once when she is about to trip and fall, he catches her and holds her close to him just for a few seconds more than was necessary. She does not miss the opportunity and twines her hands around his neck tilting her head towards him, her lips parting invitingly. He uses every single ounce of his will not to give in and in the end he carries her into her bedroom and tucks her into bed. When he turns away to walk out, she catches hold of his hand.

Riddhima : Sid.. Math jao..

He gently takes her hand off his and walks away. At the door, her voice stops him again.

Riddhima : Sid.. What if.. what if my memory never comes back?

He closes his eyes and lets his tears flow before closing the door on Riddhima's huddled up figure raking with sobs.

The next morning, Sid had left the house even before Riddhima woke up. Riddhima, though slightly disheartened by what had happened the previous night, was even more determined that she would make him realize just how much she loved him. So she deliberate set about doing things that would bring them closer. She even went to the extent of getting up on a chair to dust the top of a cupboard so that Sid would see her and help her down by lifting her in his arms. There was no doubt that he cared for her, her slightest discomfort would have him running to be by her side but still, he never made any move to get closer to her than what the situation demanded. She even joined prenatal yoga classes where they strongly encouraged husbands to accompany their wives. Sid went with her for those and while in class together, Sid would be warm, caring, protective and if she dared to think so, even loving and would have no qualms about holding her close but as soon as the class was over, he'd be back to his cold self. Occasional mood swings would have her wondering why exactly wasn't Sid getting convinced? What had gone wrong between them? But she had no way of knowing. All she knew was that she loved this man like crazy. Once, during her biweekly check up with Dr. Dhruv, she had asked him why was it that only Sid had triggered her memory and no one else and Dr. Dhruv had replied that it was her brain that had suffered a blow and forgotten everything she had learned, but not her soul. You just cannot forget your soul mate. That had strengthened her resolve even further and she tried harder to close the distance between Sid and her.

Sid was fighting a losing battle. It was becoming more and more difficult for him to hold up against Riddhima and finally, he did the only thing he could think of that could ease the situation. He told Riddhima that Padma Mom needed her help and dropped her off at the Guptas' house. That's when Riddhima started to suspect that there was something more to it than what Sid was telling her. Though she'd been told not to, she raked her brain to try to remember. She concentrated hard to try to make out something from the blurry images and cacophony of voices that crowded her head but more often than not, she'd be blinded by severe headaches because of the stress she put on herself. She occasionally was able to make out one random image or a voice but it made no sense to her. Sid came to take her for her gyneac appointments once a month and later on once every two weeks but never to take her home. Those were the only times she saw him. Riddhima had more than once mentioned about going home and Sid had always asked her to wait till Dr. Shashank got better. She would call him daily, multiple times during the day but he never spoke much to her except for monosyllable responses to her questions and occasional queries about her and Dr. Shashank's health. After almost two torturous months of trying hard and getting nothing out of it and being away from Sid, Riddhima could take it no more and decided that it was time she confronted Sid and found out the whole story of their past.

She was into her 9^th month of pregnancy and her belly was now round and significantly protruding. The frequency of the kicking had increased and so had the force. She felt a kick just as she made her way to the door of the Modi penthouse.

Riddhima : I know baby, even you are excited to be back home aren't you?

She whispered to her baby as her hand caressed her belly. She was going to ring the doorbell when she noticed that the door was slightly ajar. She opened the door and stepped in. Before she could call out to Sid, the sight that met her eyes had her riveted to the spot. Sid was sitting on the couch and there was girl sitting next him, hugging him. Riddhima felt the breath knocked out of her. This was the reason why.. Why.. they never.. Why he always.. kept her away from him.. As she felt tears well up in her eyes, she saw them breaking from the embrace and she hid herself behind the curtain so that they wouldn't see her but she could see them and listen to what they were saying.

Sid : I don't know what to do Neha. You don't even know what I've been going through. She doesn't remember anything and she's fallen in love with me and I can't tell her the truth because of her condition. Its been absolute torture.. these few months... with her.

The words rang in Riddhima's ears "Its been absolute torture.. these few months.. with her.." He did not love her, Riddhima realized. He did not love her. Being with her had been torture for him. And she.. She'd been confessing her love to him and throwing herself at him all this while thinking that he loved her. Oh God!!! She felt her heart and soul break into a zilllion pieces.

Neha : Its okay Sid. I know what you must be going through. That's why I am here. I'll always be there for you.

Sid : Thanks Neha.

They hugged again but Riddhima's vision was blurred with tears. She tried to stifle a sob but it escaped and caught Sid's attention. He immediately stood up.

Sid : Riddhima??!!

Riddhima : So this is the reason why you never.. why you kept me away from you.. You were in love with someone else? You cheated on me Sid?

Sid was shocked.

Neha : Its not what you are thinking Riddhima.

Riddhima : No.. (She raised her hand towards Neha asking her to keep quiet).. I am talking to my husband here..

She turned back towards Sid.

Riddhima : How could you Sid? How could you? You did not even think about our baby? Or was it before you knew I was pregnant? Was that why you never stayed for any of the scannings? Because you hated this baby that tied you to me?

Sid : You know that's not true Riddhima..

Riddhima : I don't know Sid.. I don't know anything anymore.. Why did you do this Sid

? Why?

Neha : Please Riddhima.. Listen to me.. Don't stress yourself..

Riddhima : DON'T STRESS MYSELF???!!!

Riddhima almost screamed, her eyes blazing with anger and hurt; her heart lay shattered into a million pieces in her chest, pricking her insides and filling her with unbearable pain so much so that talking, even breathing had become difficult. But she kept going.

Riddhima : You are in my house, in my husband's arms, you've snatched my husband away from me, destroyed my marriage, taken my child's father away from him/her and you ask me not to stress myself? Who are you? What did I ever do to you that you are doing this to me? Have you no shame to have an affair with a married man? Did it never cross your mind atleast after knowing that I am pregnant to spare my husband? What kind of a third class female are you? Tell me.. How much money do you want to get out of my husband's life?

Sid : Enough Riddhima!!!

Riddhima fell silent when Sid raised his voice.

Sid : Enough!!!

Riddhima was shocked that in spite of everything Sid was still standing up for this female.

Sid : You are just going on and on with whatever that comes to mind. You don't even know the truth.

Riddhima : Then tell me what the truth is.. I've had enough.. I've had enough of trying to make sense of things.. I want to know the truth.

Sid : Oh really? You want to know the truth? Then the truth is Ms. Riddhima Gupta that I did not cheat on you.. You cheated on me!!!

Riddhima stood there shocked to the core. She did not know what shocked her more ' the way he addressed her as Ms. Riddhima Gupta or the fact that he was saying she'd cheated on him.

Neha ; No Sid! Stop!!

Sid : No Neha!! Even I've had enough.. In fact I've had more than enough..

He turns to Riddhima.

Sid : Yes.. You heard me right Ms. Riddhima Gupta.. You were the one who cheated on me with your ex boyfriend ' Armaan Malik.

He goes on to tell her their whole story ' how she'd been in love with Armaan for 2 years, the terrorist attack that had separated their paths, how she and Sid had met, how they hated each other initially, how he'd helped her in her search for Armaan, the body heat episode, how she'd accused him of rape, what had led to their marriage, how she'd tried to commit suicide on the day of the marriage, how that had embittered him and how they'd gradually developed feelings for each other, how Armaan had come back into their lives, how he'd given her the freedom to go to Armaan but she'd kept saying she wanted to be with him, all the ups and downs, their second marriage, how she'd gotten intimate with Armaan during their honeymoon, how he had still been willing to forgive her, her farz dialogue to Armaan, how he'd given her divorce so she could go back to Armaan, how she'd confessed her love to Armaan in front of him and everyone else, the court ruling regarding the divorce, how he'd gone back to US to start afresh but the call from his lawyer that Armaan and she had been in an accident brought him back here, how Armaan had died in the car accident and she'd survived and finally that she'd slept with Armaan even before their divorce came through and the child she carried was not his but Armaan's because she and Sid had never consummated their marriage.

Riddhima felt the ground slip from beneath her feet and her whole world go for a toss, whirling around her. She had tears in her eyes but they seemed frozen in place. She couldn't remember any of it but for some reason, she knew everything Sid was saying was true. She was disgusted with herself. She had cheated on Sid with her ex-boyfriend? That too after marrying him twice? She had so mercilessly broken Sid's heart? This child she carried was not Sid's but Armaan's? Out of wedlock? What kind of a characterless, pathetic excuse of a woman was she? From what she heard about herself from Sid, she hated herself. Voices started to echo in her head again, "Maine shaadi ke pavitra bandhan ka apmaan kiya hai.. Mujhe maaf kar do Sid, I am sorry.. Jo tum mujhse expect karthe ho wo main tumhe nahi de sakthi.." She couldn't take it anymore and she ran out of the house crying.

Neha : Sid.. You shouldn't have said all that.. You remember what Dr. Dhruv had said about her condition?.. You shouldn't have..

Sid ran a nervous hand through his hair.

Sid : I don't know Neha.. I just couldn't take it anymore. Oh God!! What did I just do?

Neha : Go stop her Sid! Go stop her before its too late.

Sid nodded his head and ran out through the door. But he was too late.

OMG what a chapter.

The torture for Sid when Riddhima was all romantic and she even said I love you.

Finally the truth is out 😆 have to laugh at Riddhima shouting at Neha all the irony in her words.

Hello everyone!!!

First of all... Really really sorry for doing the disappearing act yesterday and not informing you that I will not be updating.. It was my husband's birthday and mother's day and we were out celebrating.. Sorry And I also know Veena has been a bad girl and has been giving all of you anticipatory heart attacks.. @ Veena 😡 😆

And now coming to the update.. Well as I said its pay back time for one Mrs. Riddhima Modi.. I know a lot of you were wondering how the revenge angle will work when Riddhima has no memory of what she did.. this is what I've come up with..

Riddhima goes through all the pain of repeated rejection and Sid not coming close to her and not wanting to close the distances between them despite her repeated attempts.. Just the way she had been with Sid with her "I am not ready" dialogue.

Not only that, even if for a few minutes, she experiences the pain of knowing how it feels when a loved one cheats on you when she sees Sid with Neha and also, congruent to her Farz dialogue, she hears Sid say that being with her had been torture for him (Of course he meant it in a totally different way but Riddhima does not know that..) So she goes through the exact same emotions and heart break Sid went through when he heard the Farz dialogue of Riddhima's and also when he got to know of Riddhima cheating on him..

Not to forget, now that Riddhima has a clean slate, she finally sees how confused a soul she had been earlier when she gets to know the truth..

That my friends is my revenge on Riddhma for all of us.. Hope I haven't disappointes any of you with it..

I know I've ended this part with a major cliffhanger but thats just the way it is..

finally riddhima knows what REALLY happened... ab maiyya ko pata chala thukraye jane ka matlab!! buhahaha... 😈.

"What kind of a characterless, pathetic excuse of a woman was she?" :this is what i wanted her to feel in the serial. but in serial it showed as some kind of achievement.

loved the way sid was addressing her Ms.riddhima gupta...that was real salt on her wounds...

but sid being sid, feels bad for whatever he has done...but you cant even blame him...when it comes to riddhima he just cant hurt her...

cnt wait to read what happens next!!

Finally Riddhima got to know the whole truth, OMG what would happen now😲. I don't know but I m feeling really bad for Riddhima, actually I m feeling bad for that unborn baby😒. Neet again cliffhanger you r going to kill me. I really missed your update yesterday. I just couldn't sleep properly n kept thinking about your FF that what would happen now. You have brought out Sid agony so well The way you write brings out so much hatred for Riddhima and you know who ...

Riddhima falling in love and confessing was so well put

Yes I agree you needed to give her a clean slate only then can that confused lady think a little what little she can manage and you did well with the idea
