Chapter Eighteen...

Thirty minutes later she reached the cafe', she saw Adi was already there pacing left right left. She hurried to him; the sight bought a placid smile on his face. He came forward to greet her with his open arms and kissed her on her forehead. She blushed; he wrapped his arm to her shoulder, walked inside, and found the spot in the corner. They didn't waste too much time after he ordered the sandwiches and coffee for them. Pinki was already hyperactive and Adi was no less to match up with his love. Pinki asked with the glimmer in her eyes, she rested her arms on the table with anticipation she asked, "So Adi, you were saying, that you have something to share with me, what it is batao jaldi?" He got hold of her both palms and looked straight into her eyes and said, "Guess who the Bride - To - Be is?" With that mischievous look on his face it didn't took that long for her to figure out and she squealed with joy, "I know, I know. It's Geet. OMG Adi." and she leaned over to hug him. The display was quite amusing for the rest of the customer, after a while all is settled. The food was on the table and they started to discuss how to torture their silly Jack and Jenny. They have decided to keep this secret away from Maan and Geet and the rest of the family as no one knew that they were friends. Now for the reason they parted Adi wants to know what that could be as it bothered him so much, that how things got so bad that their friends parted their ways in such a punitive way without even considering it over again.

Days were wrapping up quickly; Adi took permanent place at Maan's and Pinki at Geet's. It was the day of Mehandi cum Sangeet at Geet's place. Most importantly, marriage is the union of two likeminded hearts. Secondly, it is a bond not only of two people for a lifetime commitment but also between two families. Sangeet ceremony forms an integral part of the Indian wedding Ceremonies. Traditionally speaking the Sangeet Ceremonies is very much a part of the formal engagement that takes place a few days before the main wedding. Consequently it was not an option for this unique wedding. The stage was all set up along with the mehandi and the gifts from the Groom's side.

Geet then led to the stage, she adorns a beautiful simple yet elegant green and yellow dress matching the occasion.

Pinki looked at her with adoration that how the dress complimented her with each ounce of it. Her bark bottle green kameez was a contrast to her peaches and cream skin. Her kameez was embellished with white stones which exemplified Geet's natural pearl-like-glow of her eyes.

Geet was just like a puppet, she obediently followed all the rituals without any protest. Pinki noticed that Geet who has opinions on every little thing now how quietly she agrees. Moreover, Pinki knew better, even though Geet is not interested after all it's her wedding. Like any other girls, Geet had dreams too. She remembered how they would talk about their weddings for hours when they had spent time with each other. Knowing her likes and dislikes Pinki made sure that things picked with Geet's liking. With her chattering skills, she conveniently gets the approval of Geet and makes everyone agree as well. She thanked her heavens at least arrangements were favouring her. Geet might not be attentive now once she will gain her consciousness out of guilt coma she will thank her then. Pinki chuckled on her own comment.

Once Geet then seated, some of the elder women has begun the ceremony by feeding her some sweets and adoring her with some gifts. Then the professional mehandi designer started to apply the mehandi after few hours later, Geet's hands and feet fully designed with gorgeously. Pinki has already confided with the lady for the name of the Groom without knowing Geet.

On the other side, the household ladies and guest started their traditional wedding songs with the dhol.

and the girls started to dance on the rhythm. The songs were emotional, fun and teasing Bride and the Groom's side.

Adi had adorned the same role; he didn't have hardship with Dadima as she was thankful to him to be around. Since Agustiya's absence was missed. Dadima sighed as no one knew that Maan would drop such atom bomb. Adi assured her that he will take care of everything and has also contacted Agustiya and he is on his way to join them soon.

He recalled his conversation with Agustiya after finding out the pleasant details on their best friends. Before meeting up with Pinki he was at his office arranging his absence for another week. In the mean time, he had sent e-mail to Agustiya narrating as much details he could, and to get in touch with him ASAP. Looks like God was in his favour, as he was getting good news one after another. As he was finishing his office needs, clients were convenient enough to co-operate with him upon his re-scheduling appointments. Pinki's call had high-lightened his spirit to the extended height. As he was on the phone with her there was a call waiting for him and it was Agustiya's. He quickly ended the call arranging to meet in 30 mints. He immediately switched his call to receive Agustiya's call.

The moment he got on the call Agustiya was another rocket shooting at him. He smiled, and let him finish is excitement. Once he stopped, Adi filled him in with the details on what happened on Pink's B'day and how Maan and Geet accepted each other. But the next thing they knew was finding out from outsiders that they are marring with in 2 weeks. Agustiya recalled how Geet was quite and answered minimal as possible and how she asked Maan's number. Not knowing all this he didn't paid too much attention to what might happen to her. Now he knows. Adi quickly asked him to come as soon as possible, to his surprise he was on his way to the airport. He mentioned him about his plans that how the couple don't know whom they are marring to. Agustiya laughed on this charade, as he never heard such marriage before, it's like old days the couple would not meet or even see each other till they got married. Agustiya agreed to be part of teasing their best friends. After giving more details, he ended his call asking to feel Ayanna as well he assured he will be there on time.

In the mean time they both tried to corner Maan and Geet in their own way, all in vain. Geet was bit polite; however, Maan was a bit difficult. Adi dropped the idea even to mention her name in front of Maan. He never knew that Maan was such a temperamental. After all, he still wanted to live; c'mon he just got engaged to Pinki not with Death. Nonetheless, as per plan neither Pinki nor Adi left the sides of Geet and Maan. Only to keep people out of the way and not to let any slip of tongue to speak any names in front of prospective duo. Everything was smoothly flowing accordingly, family and relatives were so involved that they didn't even had time to breathe for themselves. Therefore it was easy for them to keep out of trouble.

It was a new moon tonight; Maan stood there on his balcony to admire God's creation. Lucid the blue was clear today to ogle the nature's beauty. Shortly after the sunset, the look of waxing crescent in the western twilight sky with the blazing point of light close to the crescent enthralled. It was Jupiter's turn this month to be the companion of Moon until Venus take over.

It reminded of Geet's smiling face that shined in his soul, the thought of her name instantly moist his eyes. He fought back those deceiving liquid who desperately waiting to escape the home. He regretted very much for not giving Geet a chance to speak when she called him. Then it was better for her, he hated the sight of her face that screamed hurt and the tears he hated those tears in her grey trimmed. That's what kept him away from her and tomorrow it will end all the reason to stay away permanently. Geet, was standing at her window staring at the same sight, tears now become her best friends never left her when she was alone. Every one consoled her thinking she is sad to leave her nest away from whom who gave her life to this world. It was partially true; the reason was completely different who made her soul cry. Maan! Since that night she never tried once, she felt as if she took away his soul and decided not to become the cause of his pain anymore. She stared at her stained hands. How much she wanted to apply mehandi for his sake. She closed her eyes with pain and let the liquid flow profusely. Tomorrow was the day where she will part away from him for ever. Both turned giving last glance at the beautiful sight and said goodnight and good bye silently to each other.

Finally Agustiya showed up..who better then him and Adi to put some sense into Maan! They have my sympathy, cause they have to deal with Maan...while Pinky has it easy with Geet 😆
You know ever since the wedding ceremonies have started this is the first time they thought about each other.. which is a good thing because it shows ..if given a chance, they can make things better..
and since they're getting married, chance hi chance hai 😉

Woohoo! We are finally closing in on the actual wedding! I'm so glad Adi roped in Agustiya in the charades! The more the merrier! 😆
