Chapter 2
It had been an eternity since she had collapsed into the arms of the stranger near the forest. Nupur opened her eyes and saw herself in a luxurious room. This couldn't be her house. She hadn't, even in the wildest of her dreams ever thought that she'd wake up in such a beautiful room. A thick, cozy blanket was draped over her body. She looked under the blanket and saw that she was wearing a loose red shirt & loose shorts. Her injured leg and shoulder were bandaged. They were sore.
She looked around to see if the man was there. He wasn't. She tried to get up but her body hurt so bad.
"Ouch," she said. And that did. He entered the room.
"Lie down," he said sternly. "You need rest."
"Where am I?" Nupur asked.
"You don't need to do that," the man said. "The bullets weren't in your body. Thank heavens for that. I cleaned your wounds, put the bandages & changed your outfits."
"You removed my clothes?" Nupur demanded, shocked.
"I am not interested in seeing you naked," the man said silently. "You had two bullet wounds and I just had to clean them and freaking save your life."
"When I can I go home?" Nupur asked. "And how long has it been since you brought me here?"
"It was a long walk from the place I bumped into you," he said. "You were unconscious, and I had some pain killers with me which I made you take & made you come along with me."
"Where are we? What's your name? And when can I go home?" Nupur asked.
"My name is Mayank & you can go back home after three months," he said calmly.
"Three months?" Nupur asked. "Dude that's too much! I have work to attend!"
"See since I don't have all the extraordinary equipments found in hospitals, you'll have to make do with 3 months. You wont be ready for the long walk until then," Mayank said.
"Long walk?" Nupur asked. "I mean where are we? Why are you ignoring my question?"
"That's not for you to know-"
"What the HECK!" Nupur yelled. "I am supposed to stay in this house for 3 freaking months and you wont even tell me where it is?"
"Ssh don't yell & strain yourself," Mayank said. "You don't want to stay here for more than three months."
"Please...tell...me...where...we...are," Nupur said.
"Alright," Mayank said. "We are in the middle of the forest. A minimum of 5 hrs of walking from the main road. No houses nearby. Only wilderness...plain wilderness...for miles and miles and miles."
"WHAT?" Nupur asked. "Why did you bring me here to the wilderness? Why couldn't you just take me to a hospital? I mean seriously?"
"Listen that would be unwise on my part, to walk upto a hospital where there are so many people," Mayank said. "Besides I have done a course in MBBS & I fairly know how to treat wounds, though it'll take much longer."
"What do you mean by its unwise to go to a hospital with many people?" Nupur asked. "What are you? A freaking vampire or something?"
"Sheesh too much of fantasy," Mayank said disgusted. "I am absolutely human. I live in this house because it's safe...no one ever comes here. It's equipped with all the facilities one could have. I can't carry on in front of the public eye."
"Who are you?" Nupur asked, breathlessly.
"I am a kidnapper," Mayank said, walking out of the room, shutting the door behind him.
"Open up dude!" Nupur screamed, scrambling from the bed.
She collapsed on the ground and held her leg as it hurt. With the free hand she banged on the door and asked the kidnapper to open up. She was unable to get up, as her wounded leg was well...really wounded. She was screaming, banging, crying & clutching all at once. She tried again and again to get up, but just couldn't.
Nupur couldn't believe it. She thought she had escaped the policeman...only to end up getting kidnapped by a random man living in the middle of the forest.
