The response for the previous chapter was overwhelming, I'm so glad you all liked it!
So here's another update for you guys 😊

Chapter 20

Geet tried to turn to her left when she felt an arm around her waist.

"Oi Pari, why are you hugging me?" she mumbled in her sleep, her eyes still closed. "I know I'm your sister & how much you love me, but save this embrace for Dev after your wedding."

It was only when she tried to prise the arm off her that she realised it didn't feel like Pari's arm. It felt... muscly?

Her eyes shot open to find herself face to face with a sleeping Maan Singh Khurana.

"Aaahhh!" she screamed from the top of her lungs.

Maan woke up, bewildered to see his fiancee screeching from the top of her lungs.

"Shut up," he muttered, still half asleep

"Let go of me then!"

Maan realised his arm was around Geet's waist & he let go, sitting up with a jolt. He realised his head was pounding heavily.

Geet also sat up, & blinked her eyes in the immense headache she was suffering.

They both frowned as they tried to remember last night's events.

"Why can't I remember what happened last night...?" Geet muttered, trailing off.

Maan's eyes widened as flashbacks were coming back to him. "I... I think we got drunk," he said quietly.

"Drunk? Drunk as in... alcohol drunk?" She looked horrified. "Babaji, forgive me!"

"But how did we get drunk?" Maan wondered. "We went out for dinner, so how did we end up here...?"

Dev & Pari had searched for Maan & Geet until late into the night. When their attempts to find them had failed, they went back to the mansion, praying Dadima was asleep. To their luck, she had gone to bed hours earlier.

Pari had stuffed blankets under Geet's duvet to make it look like it was her just incase Dadima went into her room, & Dev locked Maan's bedroom door, attempting to copy his brother's handwriting by writing a note & sticking it to the door which read: 'Gone jogging.'

Pari had been immensely worried for her sister's wellbeing & hadn't slept all night, wondering how her parents back home would react if they ever found out about Geet's behaviour. Dev had tried to console her, & called Maan's phone at least 50 times, but it was of no use. His fiancee was still in a frenzied panic & Maan wouldn't pick up.

That morning, they decided to skip breakfast & sneak out to search for Maan & Geet once more. They left a note for Dadima on the breakfast table which read: 'Gone for a walk with Geet.'

"Dev, they've been out all night, if Dadima finds out she'll kill us all! You still haven't explained the drinks, why did they get drunk?" Pari asked as her & Dev walked up the street of the Khurana mansion.

"Ok, don't get mad darling, but the drinks were meant for me & you."

"What?!"

"I just wanted us to loosen up & enjoy ourselves, before we got married & had to act responsible. I would have taken care of you properly, not done what bro did & go off my face."

They were passing the outhouse which was a short distance from the mansion when Pari thought she heard the faint sound of voices.

"Dev, wait," she said, & they stopped in their tracks. "I think I hear voices from the outhouse."

The voices could be heard from outside because Maan & Geet were in a full blown argument.

By now, they had gotten off the bed & were facing each other from opposite ends of the bed, demanding answers from the other over the previous night's events.

"Why don't you remember anything?!" Maan asked Geet, who had her hands in her hair, wanting to pull it out.

"Because I was drunk! Oh god, don't shout, my head is already pounding. And anyway, why are you shouting at me, why don't you remember anything?!"

"I remember you saying you wanted to be Jaya Bachchan! Or did you say you didn't want to be her..."

"Excuse me, Mr Khurana, are you trying to insult me?!"

"I'm trying to piece the night together because it doesn't make sense!"

"Stop shouting!"

"You shouting won't make me stop shouting, I have to shout because you're shouting and you're shouting at me to tell me to stop shouting!"

"That makes no sense!"

"I know!"

They both let out frustrated sighs. Geet massaged her temples to calm herself down, Maan counted silently to ten.

"Ok, let's be rational about this. Forget about what happened before," said Geet in a calm voice. "How did we get here, on the... same bed?"

Geet looked down at her bare feet & her eyes widened in realisation. She had a faint memory of taking her shoes off... in the middle of a road... followed by dancing...

"Where are my shoes? What happened to my shoes?!"

Maan looked down at his feet & also noticed his shoes missing.

"Forget yours, where are mine?! They were Armani brand, they cost me a fortune!"

"I think we danced as well," she said, burying her face into her hands. "This is so embarrassing."

"We danced?" Maan wondered how on earth they had danced when they had been so drunk... and how did they get to the outhouse in their state?

"This is such a mess, I can't believe this," Geet moaned, sinking down onto the bed. "We got drunk, ended up here together, we lost our shoes and Jaya Bachchan was somehow involved. On top of that, I feel like I've just been crushed under a huge lorry & still made it out alive. With a splitting headache."

"At least... at least nothing happened between us..." Maan said.

Geet turned to face him, an annoyed look across her face. "I'm crying about the mess we're in and all you can think of is... that?!"

"I'm just trying to make things better, arguing & complaining won't solve anything!"

Dev & Pari burst into the room to find Geet on the bed, looking a mess and Maan standing beside her, several of his shirt buttons undone.

"Bro, what on earth- Please tell me you didn't-"

"No, we didn't," Maan snapped, taking long strides towards Dev.

Pari rushed over to Geet, putting an arm around her shoulder, who had her hand pressed to her forehead trying to soothe her headache.

"But maybe you know something about this. Why do I look like you from the past?"

"I don't know what you're talking about," Dev muttered, looking down at the floor.

"Yes, you do. I'm hungover, like you used to be, before you met Pari. I rarely touch alcohol, hardly ever. So why did me & Geet end up drunk last night?"

Dev attempted a half hearted smile, adjusting his glasses. "Look bro, don't get mad, I can explain, you see-"

"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" came a voice from behind Dev.

All eyes turned to see the figure standing just outside the doorway, who had an eyebrow raised in surprise.

Precap: None! *evil laugh* Instead, I want you all to guess who the person behind the voice is... & it's not Dadima.
