"Please Geet... please stay alive... fight for uss.. fight for us..." whispered Maan as his hands shook as he set the defibrillator on her chest once again. He kissed her forehead and Yash put his hand on his shoulder, " Do it..."

Maan put the defibrillator on her chest again and he pressed against her chest again...

Her body flung upwards even more and then it crashed onto the bed... leaving Maan in daze...

Maan dropped the defibrillator and he went on his knees... He rested his head against the bed and he only whispered, " Please Geet... Breathe Dammit.. BREATHE"

Yash looked at Maan... same look of defeat that Maan had when Avantika had passed away... Maan on his knees and tears slipped down his eyes... only whispering, " Breathe Geet... breathee"

" You can't take her away from me... please... don't..." cried Maan.

Maan had almost given up until Heer's eyes darted towards the machines... She looked at the almost straight line.. turn into curves and jagged lines... The machines started to light up and Heer nudged Yash and he even realized it.

Yash rushed to the machines and began turning them on and fixing everything. Heer was doing the same and then she saw the most historical moment of her life...

Geet breathed a little and Heer removed the oxygen mask and she breathed hard and her chest heaved up...

Maan looked up and he saw Geet breathing in tiny fragments and the last tear escaped from his eyes... " Geeet!" whispered Maan. He got up and he said, " Switch that one on and switch that one off.. NOW"

The doctors did what he told them to do and Maan put the oxygen mask on her again and he saw her breathing a little... her eyes fluttering. Heer looked at Yash who broke a tiny smile..

Maan was so happy... Geet was saved... his jaan... was alive! In front of him.

Maan stroked her forehead and he kissed her forehead... " I switched that on.. and her breathing is normal now Maan.. its fine" said Yash.

The doctors continued to work on the machines to help stabilize Geet's pulse.

Finally, the nightmare was over. Maan looked at Geet... she was at even more peace... her face reflected satisfaction. Maan kissed her forehead and they left her alone to sleep and rest.

Maan came out of the room with Yash and Heer discussing Geets case... " She can be saved... the cysts were beginning to bother her a lot... but now they are removed... she needs bed rest and she needs you most of all" said Heer.

Maan nodded, " Thankyou so much guys"

" Geet is our friend too and our sister Maan" said Yash.

Meera, Nikki and Dadimaa came out and they said, " Is she okay?! everythign fine?!"

Maan nodded, " She is okay... and shes resting so no one can go in yet"

They nodded and Maan said, " Yash... can you take Dadimaa home?"

Yash agreed and Meera said, " Jeej.. I'l come back in the morning tomrrow... but you'll be here all night?"

" Yeah I will be" said Maan. Meera nodded and she said, " Dadimaa, hum chalte hain"

Dadimaa nodded and hugged both of the girls. Dadimaa gave her goodbyes to Maan and went with Yash.

On the other hand, Maan was in his office thinking about Geets near death experience and he only said, " You were right Avantika... Geet was my angel... Geet was sent by God himself... for me... to mend my broken heart"

Maan smiled to himself and he worked on Geets case all night, making sure all the formalities were done and everything was rightfully dealt with. He slept in his office all night and on his files.

The next morning, Heer came into Maans office surprised, " Maan! you were here all night!"

Maan woke up and he realized that he dozed off in his office and he said, " Yeah... um... sorry..."

"By the way... Geet is awake" smiled Heer.

Maan's eyes brightened up and he jumped out of his seat and put his lab coat on and ran out towards Geets room. He ran in to find Geet arguing with the nurse on the food, " Haye rabba! yeh!" said Geet.

Maan's smile got even larger as he saw his Hoshiyarpur express babble on and on and arguing. Geet looked over and she smiled, " Baad mein Ms.D'Souza... please... I promise main yeh angrezi khanaa kaloongi"

Nurse D'Souza only sighed and she said, " Sir.. aap Geet maam ko samjhayiye"

Maan didn't reply back... he only smiled at Geet. He felt like the luckiest man alive to have her in front of him... " You may go now nurse" said Maan as he stared at Geet who was clearly confused at his expression.

The nurse nodded and she left. Maan stepped towards her and she said, " Aayiye Mehrbaan"

Maan laughed and he rushed to her side and he hugged her... " I was so scared... I was so worried... Geet... don't ever do that to me ever again... you almost tore my heart out.. I would die... I dont know what I would do!"

Geet broke out of his hug and she hushed him by his lips with her fingers, " Dont ever say that my Delhi express... you go faster than me!"

Maan laughed and she hugged him tight, " I love you baby... I knew that you would never let anything happen to me... we fought for us..."

"I love you so much... that I wouldn't know what to do if I lost you" said Maan as he kissed her ear and totally enveloped her tiny self into his big arms. " Did any chamak challo micro mini try to hit on you?" joked Geet. " Not really... but you only have my attention" smirked Maan.

Geet broke out of the hug and she said, " You look so nice when you've slept in your office all day... actually... if I wasn't here then I would pounce on you"

"Sherni... once you're better... you better watch out " said Maan as he inched his lips closer to her. She kissed him and she wrapped her arms around his neck...

" Ehhm Ehmm" coughed a familiar voice.

Geet stopped and she softly pushed Maan away before he really got crazy and pounced on her. Geet looked over and saw Meera shielding her eyes and smiling.

" Meer! aaja" said Geet trying not to feel awkward. Maan got off the bed and he just stood there smiling like nothing happened. " Get a room guys" joked Meera. " Jab teri shaadi hogi... to tu phir samjhegi" said Geet.

" Acha... Jeej.. you go... get some rest and change... I'll be here with Geet" said Meera. Maan was about to protest until Geet put her hand on his and she said, " Go jaan... you must be tired.. Meera is here with me.. so don't worry about it"

Maan only sighed and he kissed Geet on the forhead and he left. Meera came in and she sat beside Geet and hugged her, " You scared us so much Geeto... take care of yourself"

" im fine Meer... but Im glad to be alive to see you all in front of me!" said Geet. Just then, the interns filed into the room and Geet smiled, " Good morning my lovely interns"

" Good morning maam" said all of them in unison. " How are you feeling maam?" asked Armaan. " I am well Armaan... how are all of you... it is so sad that I dont get to give you your duties and as well talk to you all" replied Geet.

" We brought flowers and a box of chocolates for our sweet senior doctor" said Sonali. Geet laughed, " Come in come in! sit and talk!"

" Maam... you should get some rest... we thought we would come in to see you" Said the interns. Geet nodded," I understand... and thankyou for the gifts!"

The interns each hugged Geet and they left... leaving Meera in the room talking to Geet.

*****************************************3 Weeks Later***************************************

" I can't wait to get home Maan!" said Geet excitedly as she was changing into her clothes brought by Maan. Maan was in the room whereas Geet was in the screen changing. " I know... but you still need bed rest afterwards" said Maan as he checked the files one last time.

" Bedrest? Mr.Khurana... I might need help with that" teased Geet. Maan stopped and a smirk crept upon his lips and he said, " Sherni... don't make me come there"

" Aao naa.. gale lag jao naaa" sang Geet. Maan laughed and he only shook his head at her... she was so childish sometimes. Geet was done getting ready and she went to Maan and he helped her with walking... " I cant wait i cant wait!" said Geet.

" Geet.. araam se... you've gotten a little better!" said Maan. " I know... but Mrs. Khurana can't wait!" said Geet as she held onto his hand tighter. Maan laughed at her excited attitude and he helped her in the car.

Geet was talking nonstop in the car about how she was sick of that stupid pudding and how she intends to replace that with alloo paratha's when she gets back to work. Maan laughed, " Geet.. reeelax!"

" Chaddo jii! relax shelax!" replied Geet. Maan stopped in front of the gate and the guard opened it and he let the car in. Maan parked up front and then Geet said, " Maan... it looks different... why does it?"

" You'll see mishti" smirked Maan. Geet was even more curious and Maan quickly turned the car off and he got out and went to the other side and helped Geetout. He walked her to the door and she said, " Maan.. batayiye naa"

" Nahin" Said Maan. Geet huffed and puffed about him not telling her.

Maan put his hands on her eyes to prevent her from seeing anything and Maan only kicks the door open and he leads her through the hallway with her million questions that she was babbling on and on about.

Finally Maan took his hands off her eyes and she opened them to find everyone, " SURPRISE!"

Geet smiled and she laughed, " Omg! thankyou!"

Geet hugged everyone and including Maan who was waiting his turn last and she hugged him in front of everyone and Dadimaa only giggled along. " Thankyou so much baby... thankyou so much" said Geet as she hugged him tightly.

" You better thank me well later" added Maan with a naughtiness. " Chadoo jii" said Geet as she smacked him on the back softly blushing.

" Okay enough thanking and rhona dhona! lets parrrtty!" said Meera along with Nikki. Nikki was about to hold Veers hand until she remembered what Geet had said and she moved away from him. Geet saw it and she said, " Nikki.. idhar aa..."

Nikki nodded and she went foward and Geet put her arm around her sister, " ek Nikki..tujhe Veer pasand hain?"

Nikki looked at her sister so surprised but she only nodded. " Mujhe bhi pasand hain.. aakhir mera devar hain" smiled Geet. Nikki' s eyes went wide in joy and she only hugged Geet hard, " Omg thankyou Di!.."

" Love you baby... I only say it because I want to take care of you... and btw I was pulling your leg... I told Veer right then and there that you can go with him because I approve!" said Geet.

Nikki was so happy! Maan only put his hand on her head, " Geet is right Nikki... tumhe kuch fikar karni ki zaroorat nahin hain... Veer tumhe bohot khush rakega.. warna tumhara Jeej uski khabar lega"

Nikki hugged Maan and expressed her joy. Veer moved into the conversation and Nikki broke out of her hugging session and she grabbed onto his hand and said, " Thanks di.. thanks jeej"

" You welcome gudiya... go now" said Geet. Veer and Nikki nodded and Geet sighed, " Everyone is so happy... im really happy"

" Shall we retire?" said Maan. " Nahin.. I want to enjoy with everyone in my home" said Geet teasingly. " Fine... don't expect to sleep tonight" winked Maan. " Chaliye jii... " said Geet as she dragged him towards Yash and Meera who couldn't keep their hands away from eachother.

" Stop it!" whispered Meera as Yash was grabbing her hand. " Can I see your ring one more time?" asked Yash. " My God Yash... you've seen it a million times already..." said Meera. Yash pulled her hand up and he kissed it, " Thankyou for accepting Miss Handa"

" Oye hoye... yeh kya ho raha hain" said Geet as she just sat in the middle of the two just to annoy Yash and embarass Meera. " Oh Hi Geet.." said Yash as he was trying to cover up his expression.

" Sorryy!"Said Geet as she put her arm around Meera. " We are SO having a bachelorette party for you in Vegas... I swear..." said Geet. " No way!" said Yash and Maan together.

" Excuse me? and Why?" asked Geet and Meera together. " Because... us guys get to go to Vegas" said Maan. " What do mean US guys Maan?" asked Geet. " You know... the boys..." winked Maan.

" Yeah yeah... give me a break will you? fine, then YOU are paying for our vacation to Spain and Greece" said Geet. " Ooo Greece! and those beaches and mmm... those extra ones on the beach.. surfing... with board shorts and six pack abs" said Geet.

Maan raised his eyebrow, " What?"

" You heard me Mr. Khurana, you go do what you want and I will do what I want" said Geet. " No way are yoou going there alone Geet!" said Maan. " I am" said Geet. " You arent"

" I am"

" You arent"

" I am "

" You arent!"

" ENOUGH!" yelled Meera and Yash. Geet and Maan looked at each other with narrowed eyes. " You two fight like kids! stop it. no one is going anywhere!" said Meera.

Maan and Geet looked at eachother with narrowed eyes, " You are sleeping on the floor Mr. Khurana" said Geet. Maan softened his expression, "Geet! why!?"

" Because... I said so!" said Geet. Maan sighed, " Dude... when you get married, make sure you don't say something like I just did or else you'll get kicked out of your own bed"

Yash laughed," I'll keep that one in mind dude... thanks"

Geet laughed, " Im joking... you aren't sleeping on the floor... besides... my poor pati had sleep on that hard chair in his office"

" Thanks Geet... atleast my back won't hurt" said Maan with a smirk. Geet stood up and she walked to him and said, " Meet me in our bedroom NOW"

Yash and Meera just laughed, " I think we should leave the poor couple alone now"

Geet took his hand and led him to the large case of stairs and she stumbled along the way but Maan caught her and she only smirked, " Aayiyee"

" Arahe hain...thora sa sabar kijiye" said Maan with an even larger smirk. They entered their room and Geet quickly shut the door behind Maan and she said, " Neechay itni garmi thi.. "

Maan turned around and he said, " Neechay garmi ho rahi hain... ya upar honay wali hain?"

" Chadoo jii" said Geet as she smiled to the side. Maan came closer to her and he backed her up against the door... Geet could feel his breath on her neck and she only breathed harder, " Maan" whispered Geet as she told him to stop.

Maan only whispered into her ear, " Nice try, Mrs. Khurana... you need rest.."

Geet opened her eyes and she looked straight into his face, " Kya!?"

Maan took one step back with his hands in his pocket, " You heard me"

Geet had a look of disappointment, " Maan.. par..."

" Geet... go rest NOW" ordered Maan with a stern look on his face.

" Yeh tevaar kisi aur ko dikhayiye!" said Geet with one eyebrow up. " Geet... I'm not joking... go to bed.. now!" said Maan.

Geet sighed, " Fine..."

" Good" said Maan with a smile. He helped Geet to the bed and she laid down... and Maan pulled the covers over her and he was about to go until she stopped him, " Na jaiyiye na..."

Maan smiled, " Okay... but take your medicines.. now"

" De dijiye naa?" asked Geet with an innocent smile. Maan took her medicines out and gave her water... she sat up and ate the medicines and drank the water. Geet felt so nauseous as she consumed the medicines. Geet laid down and Maan pulled the covers over her. She closed her eyes and Maan kissed her forehead. " I'll be back" said Maan as he went into the closet and got out his sweatpants and wife beater...

Geet couldn't sleep... it was so hard for her to because the medicines would make her feel nauseous... all the time. She waited for Maan to come out of the washroom and she waited for almost half an hour.

Finally, Maan came out and she just stared at him... He put his wife beater on and Geet analyzed his chiseled abs and jawline... She felt like pouncing on him... he looked so HOT.

Geet just stared at him and Maan looked at her with a puzzled expression, " You didn't go to sleep yet?"

" No" said Geet still staring at him. Maan just sighed and he climbed into bed with her and she huddled close to him and came into his embrace... She could smell his signature cologne... " You are impeccably hot Maan" said Geet as she kissed him on the cheek.

Maan held her tighter in his arms, " You are impeccably beautiful..."

" I just want this to be over Maan... I want to get better... be able to spend my life with you to the fullest without any worries" whispered Geet. " It'll be over soon baby... I promise" said Maan.

" I wasn't afraid to die Maan... I was afraid of not seeing you again... not being able to talk to you again... not being able to be in your arms like this ever again" said Geet as she felt that crying sensation in her throat.

Maan sensed it and he only said, " No one can ever take my mishti away from me"

" Hmm.. If i wasn't sick... I would pounce on you" joked Geet. " You do realize you have to pay for that later Dr. Geet Singh Khurana" smirked Maan. " I'll pay whatever price..." whispered Geet.

" Abhi to... so jaaoo" said Maan. Geet was about to say something until she felt a burning sensation in her throat. " Oh shit!" said Geet as she flung out of Maans arms and went straight into the washroom.

Maan heard her throw up and he immediately got out of bed... this is was a daily routine for him. The medicines would make Geet feel sick and eventually throw up. Maan went into the washroom and helped her clean up.

" Im sorry... Im a drag aren't I?" said Geet as she cleaned herself up. " No you arent... its alright... come to bed.." said Maan as he put his arms around her protectively. They both climbed into bed and Geet went into the same snuggle that she was in before and they both fell fast asleep...

Maan woke up earlier than usual and found that Geet was still fast asleep... Maan slowly slipped out of bed and tip toed into the washroom. He got ready for the day and as soon as he came out, he found Geet to be awake... sitting up.

" Geet? you're awake?" asked Maan as he dried his head with a towel. " Of course..." said Geet. " Hospital times getting to you.. aren't they?" joked Maan. " Yeah... I just want to spend the day with dadimaa... its been long..." said Geet. " She should be awake..." said Maan. " Its 7 in the morning, she gets up around 6!" said Geet as she slipped out of bed.

Geet kissed Maan good morning and went into the washroom. She took a shower and she came out quickly... Geet got ready in her usual clothes and went to her dresser... She sat down and found Maan to be sitting on the bed, looking through files.

" Yeah files kabhi chorenge kya?" said Geet as she put her sindoor on and mangalsutra... " Kabhi nahin" answered Maan as he looked through them and wrote in them.

Geet rolled her eyes and she picked up her brush and began to brush her hair... As she was brushing it... she stopped. She looked at her brush and she noticed that her hair was coming out... not one or two strands... but a whole bunch.

Geet tried to ignore it and she brushed on... but she felt her hair coming out effortlessly.

Geet slammed the brush down on the dresser and Maan looked up, " Geet.. kya hua!?"

" Kuch nahin" said Geet as she ran her fingers lightly through her hair and stood up. She went out of the room leaving Maan a little puzzled at her attitude. He continued to work on the files but it was troubling him. Geet never did that.

He stood up and walked around the room thinking. " What's wrong with her?"

He stood right in front of the dresser fixing up his tie and he was about to pick up his watch until his eyes spotted Geets hair brush... he noticed strands of hair on it and he picked it up...

" The symptoms" thought Maan as he clenched the brush in his hands.
