Chapter Six
( I Have to Tell You Something)

Maan ran behind Geet and he pushed the side exit doors open to find Geet crying... He quickly sat down beside her and she her eyes were completely red and her face all puffed up from crying. His face showed concern, " Dr. Geet! ARE YOU OKAY?" Geet was still crying and she didn't answer him back. He was sitting pretty close to her and she was crying so much that she put her head on his chest. Maan was about to put his arms around her until his hands stopped halfway around and he put his hands back and he said, " Dr. Geet... is everything okay? do you need to go home?"

Geet didn't answer but then he got a little impatient and frustrated with her. One thing he couldn't stand... was tears... and he got so frustrated until he said, " Chup! Bilkul CHUP". Geet stopped crying and she quickly realized that Maan was that close to her... she stood up suddenly and stepped back... she wiped her tears and she swallowed hard and looked up at him. " Sorry... Im sorry.. Dr. Maan I have to go home..." Maan looked at questioningly. Geet fixed herself up and she wiped the last of her tears and she said, " Sorry... I'm really sorry..." She looked at him once more and she quickly walked past him and went out.

Maan stood there with a million questions revolving in and around his head. "Why did she freak out like that?" thought Maan. She was seeming like a weirder girl to him... she was different though. Not like the others that throw themselves on him all the time. He frowned and he turned around to exit out of the side doors. He walked down the halls and his eyes looked for Geet. He wouldn't let her go so easily without answering his questions.

He decided he would go to the lockeroom, " Im sure she would be there". He was right... he saw Geet sitting there like a statue. He quietly walked in and she knew he was there, " Dr. Maan... I can't answer any of your questions... I need to go home... I'll see you tomorrow". Geet stood up and she collected her things and she walked right past him. Maan stood there with an even bigger question mark on his face... and he said, " Dr. Geet..."

" Please Dr. Maan... don't ask me any questions now..." said Geet as she stopped in the doorway. He was silent. " Okay... well she's a weirdo... why do I care? Oh well..." thought Maan. He rolled his eyes and he exited the room to the opposite way.

All throughout the day, Maan tried so hard to not think about what happened with Geet. " She is a doctor... she has seen even worse..." thought Maan. Maan was driving home and he passed a small beach area and his eyes caught a figure. It seemed so familiar to him. " Its evening time... why would anyone be here... its dangerous with weird people running around here". He wanted to forget about it and move on towards his home before dadimaa gave him another lecture. But as he was about to go, his heart said to stop and go look.

Maan was fighting within himself and finally parked his car and got out. He looked around to locate that familiar figure again. And he rolled up his jeans and he walked on the sand. He finally located the figure again. He squinted his eyes and ran towards the figure. The figure seemed awefully familiar to him... and he ran up to catch up with it. He put his hand on the person's shoulder and then the person stopped and turned around. His eyes went wide in surprised, " Dr. Geet? what are you doing here so late at night?... its dangerous here! its not like your London where you can go out anytime!"

Geet looked at him with empty eyes. Maan saw the emptiness in her eyes and he said, " Come..." Geet nodded and he walked her towards a long log that was on the sand and water. It was floating in between and Maan was about to help her sit until she sat down herself and he was caught off guard with that but he sat down.

" Pata hai Dr. Maan. I've heard so many people say that life is horrible... life is trash... its not worth it... but honestly... zindagi bohot choti hai un baton ke liye... hum insaan yeh bhool gaye hain kay zindagi ek tofa hai... hum apne gham mein bohot kuch bhool jatein hai... and perhaps we don't realize how bad someone else has it... possibly worse than us... we aren't always satisfied with everything... the day we think that life is long... guess what? thats the day it gets shorter and shorter... I would know" said Geet as she stared into the horizon. Maan looked at her... he didn't know what to say. Funny... no one stumps Maan Singh Khurana... but this girl did it in one minute.

" Yeh ladki ko dekh rahein hai?" said Geet as he pointed to her side towards a girl playing with her father in the sand. Maan looked in that direction and saw that the girl giggling as her father was tickling her. " I lied to you Dr. Maan... " said Geet. Maan looked in Geet;s direction again and he looked confused... " I have no one... Dr. Maan... my papa jii and daarji and mother are dead..." said Geet coldy. Maan was a little surprised...

" I have no family except my cousin Meera... we are orphans... my family got killed off one by one. Meera's parents and siblings were killed by a gang because Meera's father had his own gang and it was a gang war between Meera's papa jii and the other gang. My papajii had worked out a deal for everyone but he was betrayed... and that day of August 6th I saw... pure slaughter Dr Maan. My mother was suffering from a heartattack in the middle of the floor with the pool of blood surrounding her... she was reaching out to me.

She kept on saying, " Run Run girls... go..." Meera hid herself behind me and I saw it alll.. with my own eyes and luckily Meera and Iwere playing in the attic and as we came down... I saw my papa jii and daarji slaughtered... everyone's blood mixed into a large pool in the middle of the room... The gang was looking for Meera and myself... but we hid... and we were taken in by a orphanage and I grew up there with Meera most of my life... and finally I worked hard and got into University in London. We ran away from Hoshiyarpur... forever... " said Geet as she looked into Maan's eyes.

Maan's eyes softened and she continued, " I don't know why I told you this Dr. Maan... but I had to before I lose all the courage to live again and smile again... and the reason I pointed to that girl was because I was the same... my papa jii use to take me in the fields and we use to play hide and seek... he use to catch me always and tickle me the same way... and the giggles of the girl.. same... and when I saw that patient in a heart attack.. It reminded me of my mother... Dr. Maan... life has treated me worse... but all I do is smile and strive to be happy.. and to tell you the truth.. I am... " Maan felt a certain weight in his heart and he felt like taking Geet into his arms...

Geet looked at him once more, " Never forget to rememeber that someone else has it worse than you Dr. Maan... remember to be happy again and live your life smiling... makes living in this world easier..." Maan was definitely out of words but he managed to say, " Dr. Geet... would you like a ride home?". Geet looked at him and smiled lightly, " Yes... I seemed to forget my car walking here back in the hospital..." Maan nodded and he got up and he offered his hand to help her up. She looked at him and she took his hand. He helped her up and she let go of his hand quickly... he was caught off guard... Why did he want to hold her hand?

Maan shook off the thought and he and Geet walked towards his jeep. They got in and he started the jeep. He backed out and started driving... " Where is your home Dr. Geet?". Geet told him the address and they drove there silently. Maan watched from the corner of his eyes, Geet's hair blowing from the wind and soft eyes looking out. " Dr. Geet... I appreciate you trusting me with this.. and I promise you this will stay between us..." said Maan suddenly.

Geet turned to look and him and smiled, " Dr. Maan.. I trust you". Maan felt his heart skip a beat and he could only slightly smile. "That smile is a start" said Geet as she turned around and looked into the distance again. Maan drove quite awhile and he finally reached Geet's home. It was a beautifully built house with large french windows. He drove into the driveway and he stopped. " Would you like to come in?" said Geet as she was about to get oout of the car. Maan looked at her eyes.. she really meant it..

bechari she saw her family get slaughtered

poor her and meera had to grow up like that

despite having such a tough past she still smiles and is happy

loved the upd8 and continue soon

n still she is so happy or tries to be...love her so much...

amazing update....👏

so thats the reason she ran away...cant believe it.....

i just hope she is alright n not sick....like having a heart condition like her mother...

Woah what a part. U blew my mind way. Was deffo not expecting this :o.
You are very creative. What an imagination.
Poor Geet life treated her very badly :o.
