I agree with you Opti. Although I have never lived in Mumbai, I have visited my relatives there. And since chawl have residents from all parts of the country, its great fun. Moreover, festivals not only help us get to know our own felow countrymen's culture and tradition but also helps us widen our horizons. And in every one of the festivals you have described, there have been some significant happening in Maaneet's life which has either strengthened their relationship or taken it to the next level.
And moreover, if every event in their life is shown happen against the backdrop of their home, then that would be boring. I really liked to know about different festivals like lohri, which I would have probably never known had I not come across in your FF.
