Finally together
Gunjan stood watching Mayank and Nupur signing the marriage certificate' Gunjan saw the joy dancing on Nupur's face and the love on Mayank's face whenever they look at each other' they were finally together' two hearts beating for each other'
Gunjan made a silent prayer in her heart' she wanted them both to stay happy always' finally her wish came true'her dream for their happiness was shining in her eyes'
The pageant of memory paraded before her. she remembered the day when she first time saw Nupur crying'

Gunjan: " Nupur..kya hua?"
Nupur had tried to avert her face but as usual Gunjan sensed something was wrong and hugged Nupur.
Gunjan: " I hate them'"
Nupur wiped away her tears, " Gunjan'I am fine' wese bhe you cant do anything..they are right.."
Gunjan knew how much it hurt her best friend to say those words.. she hated those people even more' she wanted to do something for her friend but as usual she had nothing in her hands' she felt Nupur again pull the mask on her face and Gunjan instantly knew the wall was built...Nupur wont listen to anything. She wanted to shake her.. her own eyes were filling with tears now'
Nupur: " acha now no need to get emotional Gunjan..we have a class and you know mam aujuman will be waiting for us! Abhe abhe to unhen ne mujhe best presentor kaha hai! I cant take risks you see!"
Nupur passed Gunjna a wavering smile.
Gunjan: " one day you will find someone who wont be like those fools'you will see Nupur.."
Nupur: " keep on wishing Gunjan'now hurry up we will be late'"
Gunjan stepped forward and hugged her, " why Nupur? why do you have to bear all this at the hand of those fools?"
Nupur gave her a weak smile' unshed tears were shining in her eyes again, " because I am not fair'"

Gunjan: " arrrggghhh! When will we get free Nupur?"
Nupur: " Gunjan bus bhe karo! You are speaking constantly! Now try to read something! We have papers since tomorrow!"
Gunjan made a sad face and Nupur's heart melted. as usual she couldn't stay stern with her friend.
Nupur: " acha this is the last chapter! We will have break after this."
Gunjan smiled and quickly hugged her friend.
They laughed and talked. With Gunjan Nupur could be herself'away from all the restraints of her curropted society..where good physical appearance was all that mattered..her heart was nothing'but with Gunjan she could be herself..she could let go of her inhibitions and feel free'.
Unknown to her she had become the subject of somene's attention.
Mayank stood looking at her laughing'he rarely saw her laughing so genuinely' infact he rarely saw her laughing'the cold reserve smile was all he ever got from her'
Mayank felt his heart warm everytime he looked at her..there something about her that attracted him..
And then their eyes met'as usual he saw her reserve return..as usual the warmth emitting from her a moment ago was replaced by '. Coldness'.

Sam again caught his friend staring at Nupur. he went to him and hit his book lightly on his head.
Mayank: " ouch! Sam!"
Sam: " kya Sam? Stop staring otherwise your eyes will pop out! Wese bhe many of the girls are after you only because of those eyes! and without them I have no idea how you will try to get closer to Nupur."
As Sam had expected Mayank jerked his head towards him'his face portraying a loss.
Sam: " please! You thought I haven't noticed?"
Mayank: (shrugging and trying to hide his embarrassment by hiding behind his book) " I am studying Sam! But after all I am your best friend so let me give you an advice'use your observations during paper! Mam anjuman paper?"
Sam groaned and Mayank grinned.
Sam: " MAYank..mera best friend hai! Kuch ker yar! Mein fail ho jaon ga!"
Mayank: " mein? Kya aap mujhse baat kr rahe hain?"
Sam: " acha ab zyada attitude mat show ker na! Please!"
Mayank satisfied , " ja tu bhe kya yaad krega! Here are my notes! But I need them back by tomorrow!"
Sam: " han yar ofcourse! ( Mayank again looking at his book) " wese larki ache hai!"
Sam winked and ran before Mayank could catch him. Mayank smiled and then remembering about the paper started reading again.

it was 2 years after their graduation when Gunjan and Nupur were getting ready to go to the graduation ceremony. Nupur
was attired in a mini skirt of dark green color. Gunjan specially bought it for Nupur and as soon as Nupur clasped eyes on it, she fell in love with the dress. They both were very excited and even Nupur was too excited to let Gunjan have her way with her. She was even wearing matching earrings and high heels on Gunjan's request.
On the other hand Gunjna was wearing a pink gown which Nupur had selected for her'.they both were looking great and were about to leave but went to Nupur's grandma room to say goodbye.
The door was slightly open and they could hear the voices murmuring inside.
" but maa.. mein kya karoon? Whatever I do..i cant change what was written in her fate? I cant change her maa.."
Nupur and Gunjan recognized Nupur's mother voice.
Grandma: " aik to tum samajhte nahe ho! Chalo mein mante hoon , nahe tha
uske kismat mein gora rang per tum logon ne usay dheel de rakhe hai' uske zuban dekhe hai kese chalet hai?"
At this point Gunjan realized Gunjna had already heard enough'she pulled Nupur and in silence they left the house ..unseen' unheard'

Gunjan kept on glancing at Nupur..her eyes were brimming with tears..Gunjan cursed the moment they went to that room..oh why this was happening with the most loving and caring girl'why couldn't they let her live freely?

Mayank and Sam were there an hour earlier' Mayank kept on glancing at the door..he was waiting'waiting for ' Nupur'
Before the colloge ended he already knew he was in love with Nupur..and these two years he had worked as hard as possible to stand on his own feet..today he was the general manager of the most promising advertisement company' today he wanted his graduation to mark another point in his life..he was going to propose Nupur'
Sam nudged him and brought him back to reality' but it was shortlived'as soon as he saw Nupur he felt his breath caught..he had missed her'finally he was looking at her' at the love of his life' but' suddenly his smile faltered' he looked at those eyes'they looked even more haunted today then ever before..the instantly knew there was something wrong and his heart sank'

Gunjan was standing beside her passing her worried glances' Nupur so wanted to look up and tell Gunjan she was okay..but today her last fiber of strength had broken'she could lie no longer..she wanted to cry an let out her anguish'why was she like that? Why could nt she be like any other normal girl who was pretty and had no worries..was accepted..how she wishes she could be like a normal girl whose entrance didn't mark the end of arguments.. why was her complexion dark'

Mayank saw Nupur standing alone and utilized the moment'he moved towards her'
Mayank: " hello Nupur!"
Nupur looked up and Mayank felt his heart clench'she was crying'
Nupur: " errmmm.. hi' errmmm'Mayank'"
Mayank wanted to pull her in his arms and console her'but for what? What was wrong with her? and how the hell was he supposed to propose her?

Gunjan joined them at that moment and Nupur excused herself.
Mayank: " hey Gunjan."
Gunjan: " hey MAYank' how are you?"
Mayank: " fine..ermm' Gunjan what happened to Nupur?"
Gunjan looked him in the eyes and replied: " she is being treated unfairly because she wasn't born fair'"

as soon as Nupur came out she was greeted by Mayank's request to dance with her.. he took her by surprise and so she before she could reply he already placed her hand in his and escorted her to the dance floor'
Nupur: " errmm..Mayank you see.. I mean.. I don't want to sound rude but I don't want to dance'"
Mayank held her even more closer and she looked at him with her eyes firing daggers' it made him grin'
Mayank: " will you just relax Nupur'I mean are you always like this?"
Nupur stared at him and didn't replied..
After the dance Mayank stick to her side and unconsciously Nupur felt herself relax in his company..he didn't bother her'he stayed quiet if she didn't want him to speak..it was as if they shared a strange bond' he understood her'unlike any man ever did'she laughed inwardly'a cold laugh'who ever bothered understanding her? after all she wasn't fair'
MayanK: " aik to tum sochte bhot ho!"
Nupur smiled inspite of her bad mood: " you should join the group with Gunjan. She has the very same feelings!"
MayanK: " that's not fair!"
Nupur smiled sadly: " nothing is in this world'"

it was a month later'Nupur and Mayank had been going out as friends '. They were together almost everywhere'Nupur felt a invisible bond with this man..he was always there for her' but never wanted or pressurized her to be there was him..it was as if they both shared an understanding that helped them move closer '
they were meeting in a restaurant that day'Mayank had decided to propose her'
Nupur was sitting alone since the past 10 minutes waiting for Mayank'.Suddenly a waiter arrived with a bouquet of red roses along with a card and told her those were for her.
She smelled the red roses that were her all time favorite flowers and than she picked up the card and read it.

Mayank: " hey princess.."
Nupur looked around to find him bent on his knees beside her.
Mayank: ' will you mary me ?"
Nupur looked up at him with tears brimming in her eyes' she loved him'but 'but what about her complexion'.
Maaynk saw that worried look cross her face'he moved closer to her and whispered:
Mayank: ' will you honour me with a dance?"
He moved her towards the dance floor and enveloped in his arms , Nupur danced with him with her favorite song playing in the background'

Mayank and Nupur looked in each others eyes and they were lost' they both were In there own world far away from the real world. Mayank was lost in the depth of Nupur's eyes.
Mayank: " i love you Nupur. I promise I will always love you'. I will always be there for you'
Napur: "I know'..but'Mayank what about??"
Mayank knew instantly what Nupur wanted to say but he silenced her by kissing her'
When they finally broke the kiss he said: " I love you for what you are Nupur..a perfect human being..my angel.. and for me you are the most beautiful girl in this whole world....'When I see your face, there's not a thing that I would change....
