Chapter 18: Heartbroken Once Again!

Mayank and Nupur were sitting at the restaurant, which was located by a sea, in a open place, Mayank and Nupur could enjoy the perfect view of the city and the ocean, the cool air. Both of them were awfull quiet, nupur had tried to make some conversation but Mayank had stopped with his crude attitude.

Mayank looked at his watch, it was almost 7:30 and Mr. Segal hadn't showed, mayank was loosing his patience; he couldn't decide whether he was mad at Nupur, or at Mr. Segal not showing up.

Mayank: "excuse me". Mayank said calling a waiter.

Waiter: "yes sir".

Mayank: "I have been waiting here for my friend, has he shown up, Mr. Segal".

Waiter: "No sir, no one has showed up as of now, would you like to order something while you wait".

Mayank: "No thanks". Mayank said rudely to the waiter, Nupur sighed, mayank was so difficult to figure out sometimes. Just then Mayank's phone rang.

Mayank: "What?, I understand Mr. Segal, then I guess you can just fax the documents to my office in India…………..yah…………..thank you………Yes sure have a great flight". Mayank hanged up the phone.

Nups: "what happened?".

Mayank: "It was Mr. Segal he had to leave for London tday for some personal issues, he won't be coming".

Nups: "Oh, toh then what should we…"

Mayank: "Let's just have dinner and go to the hotel and packup our flight is tomorrow".

Nups: "Mayank actually I was thinking that we should…….". Mayank was completely ignoring Nupur, he signaled a waiter, and started ordering, Nups was really getting mad and upset, what was wrong with Mayank in the room he was becoming romantic and now he wasn't even talking to her rightly.

Mayank: "what will you have?". Mayank said looking at Nupur.

Nupur: "Uh I will have one coke and veggie Sandwich, that's it".

Waiter: "Sure Maam," The waiter left and again the awful silence took place, 15 minutes later their food arrived. Nupur took a sip from her coke, and looked at mayank who was crushing his salad, both had millions of things to say to each other but again they were being stubborn again.

Nupur: "mayank I am sorry". Nups whispered looking at her sandwich plate mayank looked up at her.

Mayank: "sorry for what?".

Nups: "for whatever I done that you are not speaking to".Mayank looked at Nupur, he could sense the pain in her eyes.

Mayank: "No its nothing like that I was just lost in some thoughts that was why I was behaving like this". Mayank said giving a weak smile.

Nups: "Mayank I wanted to tell you something".

Mayank: "kaho".

Nups: "mayank I want to move on, main yahan isliye ayi thi, because I wanted to win you back, (nups took a deep breath), but I have realized ki we can't move on with our lives until you know the past". She said putting her hand on top of mayank's. Althought mayank took his hand away, he was not ready for it, because he knew this he would be able to control himself, he hated the past.

Mayank: "nupur please, I don't want to discuss our past". He said rudely.

Nups: "But mayank for our future together, we have to clear tha past or it will be the weakest thread in our relationship".

Mayank: "Future together, what are you talking about you are still interested in your past, why don't you go back to it?". He snapped at her, getting up from the table. Nups was shocked people around were now watching them, nups slowly got up.

Nups: "what are you talking about mayank? I thought you".

Mayank: "You know exactly what I am talking about your love Rohan Khanna, I saw you were very comfortable hugging him at the hotel".

Nups: "Mayank please atleast listen to Rohan just suddenly showed up there".

Mayank: "Your lucky that he showed up here, because you were getting really bored with me".

Nups: "Mayank please what is wrong with you, atleast listen to me".Nups said as tears started rolling down her eyes.

Mayank: "Listen?, Nupur Bhushan there is nothing left listen I made a big mistake letting you back into my life, so you could ruin it again".

Nups: "what I have ruined you life?,…………..NO Mayank Sharma its you who have ruined both of our lives, if you would only keep you arrogance aiside for one and listen to me Damn it". Nups hitting the table with her hand, she was getting really pissed. Now she didn't care if they were in public and creating a scene.

Mayank: "I have ruined your life na then why don't you go back to your love Rohan huh".

Nups: "he is not my love, I have only loved on guy all my life and that is you I love you Mayank and no one else……Why are you keep bringing Rohan in this". Nups said looking straight in mayank's eyes, mayank heart did a flip, as nups said I love, but he wasn't ready to give, his arrogance were once again taking over his heart.

Mayank: "Oh I am sorry is it hurting your feelings, you brought him between us Nupur two years ago and now today………if you loved him so much then why did you come back to my life, to give me more pain".

Nups: "Please mayank rohan is married". More tears rolled down her, eyes she couldn't believe that life would again take such turn, her happiness couldn't last longer than few moments.

Mayank: "So what, Love is blind after all, and nowdays anyone can have an affair". Nups now lost her temper, mayank was insuting her what was wrong with him.

Nups: "Stop it Mayank, do you even realize what you are saying." Nups said as more tears rolled down her eyes, ruining her mascara.

Mayank: "Wow typical girl drama, Nupur if you truly loved me you wouldn't have been two-timing me……………..you meant the world to me Nupur……….you were the first and the last girl that I have loved, but you ruined my life, I hate you". Mayank snapped at her, Nups was shocked.

Nups: "two timming, I am not that type of Girl Mayank, I can't believe you just said that, cause you know very well how I felt about guys, what my life has been…….yet you are blaming me".

Mayank: "it was your fault you cheated on me………..it was better until I wanted to take revenge from you and did things that hurt you…………….then I realized maybe I was doing wrong, I was about to say that I love you……..but you definitely don't need my love because you have Rohan by your side………….Yah but do a favor on him, don't betray him like you did to me.

Nups: "You know what mayank it was my mistake to come here, I just wanted one chance to explain to you, but you don't deserve it Mayank, Love mein sabse important trust hota, and you never had that on me, nahi 2 years ago nahi today." Now mayank was so angry that he didn't even realize what he was saying.

Mayank: "You made mistake by coming here right, then why don't fix it………….Leave". Nups was left stunned this time mayank crossed all his limits, two timming, leave.

Nups: "Thanks Mr. Mayank sharma for making me realize that I was wrong about everything, about you, our relationship, thanks a lot". She snapped, and then Nups picked up her bag and left the resturan in a huff. Mayank stood there hit his hand on the table, which made few plates and glasses fell on the floor breaking them. People watch as he put some money on the table and left.

Both thought that tonight will turn out completely perfect for them, bu who knew that life is not always easy……….once broken heart could be broken again. Or maybe this was another test of their love as they say the longer you stay apart the more love blooms in your relationship.
