Chapter 3

Riddhima entered her house it was silent, she was grateful because it meant that Armaan was a sleep. She knew she would have broken down if she had to face Armaan. She ate whatever was lying around but the silence let her mind wander back to the past she remembered her second marriage with Sid, the fateful night with Armaan, Sid giving her the divorce papers, her and Armaan on the basketball court "re-uniting" but from that moment everything was incomplete...She wanted to stop her thoughts but couldn't because from then on she realised who Sid was and what it meant to not have him with her by her side.

Eight years ago...

Sid left the basketball court with Yuvi, no one saw his pain expect Yuvi but he didn't say anything and Sid was grateful. Sid broke the silence first "Does it stop hurting?"
Yuvi stayed silent how could he answer Sid's question when he was trying to move on as well, Naina had gone and he was still hurting, the pain was always present, all day he might not hurt but when he was alone with his thoughts it was always about Naina.
Yuvi then went "No..." He could not lie to Sid but he had no explanation. Silence formed again.
Yuvi broke it this time "I'm sorry" Sid just stared away blankly then said "What did I do wrong?" He was starting to break down, his eyes were brimming with water, tears ready to fall.
"Nothing mate, nothing at all."
"Why did I believe in her love? It just hurts, all it does is cause pain. I was meant to be happy everything was perfect, where did I make the mistake? What did I do wrong? Was I not meant to fall in love with her? Tell me Yuvi what was my mistake? I need this pain to stop, this emptiness to disappear..." He broke down, the tears started to flow all the pain he kept bottled up it all came, nothing could stop the pain, he was shattered broken the last year of his life had been a whirlwind with Riddhima to today everything had just built up, he finally let out all his pain.

The next day Sid woke up in the morning and he was just lying there when he heard some noise, he looked up and saw Yuvi there. "You need to get up."
"Why? I mean what's the point what am I looking forward to there is no reason for me to get up."
Yuvi chuckled and then said "I know how you are feeling, I feel/ felt the same...I know you don't have a reason right now but you will find a reason. I am going to say this because I care finish your internship and focus on your career for now. Stick to your plan finish your internship and then go back to America you already know your dad's terms unless you call him and tell him why you want to come home."
"NOOOO..." screamed Sid. Then as he calmed down he said "How am I meant to face them every day? How can act like it doesn't hurt?"
"You can't just, do your job and ignore the rest."
Sid nodded he was unconvinced, but Yuvi broke his thoughts "I know it will hurt and it will be difficult but I am there for you and you have to just bear this out for a year. I know it is a long time but think about it, this year has flown by and so will the year coming, I am sure God has a better and bigger plan for us! You are a good guy Sid and I know it doesn't seem like it but things will get better, I don't know how and I don't know when but don't stop living."
Sid nodded...

The first few weeks were tough, I mean trying to avoid Armaan and Riddhima, JP and Jiggy he wasn't in the mood to be with them and the fact her had nothing to do with his spare time a lot of time was spent brooding or over working. Him and Yuvi had semi moved in together because they both ended up spending nights at each other's places because they both were going through the same pain.

One day Riddhima was getting on with her shift when she heard two nurses talking. "I know Dr Siddhant, hasn't smiled in weeks, he is so lost he comes in works and then leaves he doesn't talk to anyone or anything, he has changed so much otherwise with him around there was never a dull moment he was so full of life. Your problem was his problem, his smile became your smile."
The other nurse nodded then went "you can't blame him, but I have to look up to him coming in everyday and facing Dr Armaan and Dr Riddhima, there are reason for all the pain in his life and they just act like they don't even care of what they have done to him."
"I know, I haven't seen two such terrible people, after everything Dr Siddhant done especially for Dr Riddhima when no one was standing by her not even her own father."
Riddhima had tears in her eyes she couldn't bear to listen to them anymore and left from there. As she left from there she was thinking about what the nurses had said had she been that oblivious to Sid's pain, how had she missed it? But he was fine right. Then she realised when was the last time she had seen Sid she hadn't seen him she never saw him. He never spoke to her or even acknowledged her presence that's when she realised he wasn't ok but unlike Armaan...she stopped her thoughts there and decided Sid just needed time...Right???

Post your thoughts, there is still a lot to happen till Shilpa comes back into the picture...so sorry but there isn't going to be much focus on Shilpa till SidShi meet because I am going to spend focusing on Sid's story first, then shall go into Shilpa's story......
