Chapter Fifteen (b)
They both looked for apartments and finally, Mayank and Nupur got the
opposite apartments in the same building. They helped eachother setting the apartments and finally they were done with it.
Mayank called Nupur,
Mayank: Hi Nupur.
Nupur: Tumhari tabyet toh theek hai Mayank?
Mayank: Han, kyun?
Nupur: Subah ke 7 baje mujhe call kar rahe ho? Uth kaise gaye?
Mayank: Tumhara kamaal hai.
Nupur: Tumhari awaz toh kuch zyada hi fresh lag rahi hai. Ahan, kya baat hai?
Mayank: Nupur, aaj tum mujhe 3 baje milo gi?
Nupur: Kahan?
Mayank: Ussi coffee shop mein.
Nupur: Wahin jahan ham roz milte the?
Mayank: Han.
Nupur: Theek hai.
She smiled and disconnected the phone.
Mayank smiled and said to himself: I never knew ke mujhe Nupur se itna pyar hai. I love u Nupur. Pata nahi tumhe bataoon ga toh tumhe kaisa lage ga but the truth is that Nupur... I love u so much.
He said and then puts a hand in his pocket and takes a little box out. He opens it and there's a ring inside.
Mayank: Aaj, I'll make u mine.
He said and fell on his bed.
And he called Nupur again and now,
Nupur: Hello Mayank.
Mayank: Nupur... tum phone ke ooper hi baithi hui thi kya?
Nupur: Mayank. Mera dill bohot ghabra raha hai.
Mayank: Kya hua Nupur?
He asked with concern.
Nupur: Kuch ajeeb si feeling aa rahi hai mujhe aaj.
Mayank: Ajeeb? Tum theek ho? Main aoon kya? Tumhari tabyet kharab hai?
Nupur: Nahi Mayank, pata nahi... ah.
Her mind was boggled.
Mayank: Acha tum aik kaam karo. Ke tum abhi se tayyar hona shuru kar do. Aur please, red dress pehen ke aana.
Nupur: Red dress?
Mayank: Maine kal tumhari baat mani thi na? Gaya tha na doctor ke paas. Ab tumhe meri baat man'ni pade gi bas.
He said and disconnected the phone.
Nupur: Yeh ladka kabhi meri baat nahi sunta. Urgh. Mere paas toh koi red dress bhi nahi hai. Oh my God. Ab mujhe jaake aik red dress kharidna pade ga by God.
So therefore, Nupur went to buy a red dress as soon as the shops were open. Both of them were skipping one day from there jobs.
After getting ready, Nupur went to the coffee shop and sat, kept on waiting for Mayank.
Finally, someone puts a hand on her shoulder. She knew it must be Mayank, she looked back and unfortunately it wasn't Mayank standing there. It was Nupur's father.
Nupur: Papa ap!
And a tight slap came on her face.
(ND---> Nupur's dad.)
ND: Toh tu yahan thi? Mumbai mein? Woh toh acha hua ke mujhe business ke silsile mein yahan aana pada warna kya hota. Tu toh haath se hi nikal gayi besharam. Chal mere saath.
He said in his strict voice while dragging Nupur to the car. She kept on begging him to leave her.
He, after putting Nupur in the car, started driving back to Simla. As Nupur's dad was busy driving the car, Nupur slowly switched her phone off as she knew that if her phone rings, it'll be snatched away after reading Mayank's name on it.
There, Mayank reached the place and kept on waiting for 2 hours. When he got tired of waiting... he started calling Nupur. Her phone was switched off. Mayank was worried and angry.
He went to her apartment, and knocked it. No one replied from inside.
Finally, tired Mayank went to his apartment after getting really disappointed. He was sitting in his bedroom, thinking of Nupur and looking at the ring he had bought for her.
There, Nupur was being scolded by her parents.
After being scolded badly, they just decided to get her married to Sameer.
Nupur: Mom, Dad! Aap dono yeh kya keh rahe hain? Main pehle bhi Sameer ki wajah se ghar se bhaagi thi.
ND: Kyun? Kya kharabi hai ussmein?
Nupur: Uski aik girlfriend hai papa. Woh mujhse shaadi karke meri zindagi haram karna chahta tha bas. Issi liye main bhaag gayi.
NM (Nupur's mom): Agar usse koi aur ladki pasand thi toh woh apne maa baap se kehta. Tujhe kaise pata?
Nupur: Maine usse shaadi se aik raat pehle uss ladki ke sath dekha tha Mom.
ND: Jhoot bolti hai yeh ladki. Apna gunah chupane ke liye Sameer pe ilzaam lagati hai. Iski shaadi jald se jald karwa deni chahiye.
NM: Main kal hi Sameer ke maa baap se baat karti hoon, Sameer acha ladka hai samajh jayega.
Nupur: Leikin main Sameer se pyar nahi karti! Main Mayank se pyar karti hoon.
These words were uttered, not from her mouth but from her heart.
ND: Mayank kon hai?
He said with his anger on its peek.
Nupur: Main usse mumbai mein milli. Dad woh bohot acha ladka hai. Woh Sameer ki tarah nahi hai. Dad please ap aik baar usse mil lo.
NM: Toh yeh sab karke ayi hai tu Mumbai mein? Main toh kehti hoon iski shaadi tak isse bahar hi na nikalne do. Bigad gayi hai yeh ladki!
She said as she took Nupur inside her room and locked her so that she doesn't go away.
Sitting in the room, Nupur started to cry. And started remembering Mayank.
But then, she thought to call Mayank. She called Mayank.
Mayank: Hello.
Nupur: Hello Mayank.
Her voice seemed low and it was very clear that she was crying.
Mayank: Nupur! Kahan ho tum? Main itna dar gaya tha! Tum theek ho na? Kahan par ho? Aur tum ro kyun rahi ho?
Nupur: Mayank mujhe mere dad miil gaye woh mujhe wapis Simla le aye hain Mayank aur woh kuch dino mein meri shaadi Sameer se karwa dein ge. Mayank, agar meri shaadi Sameer se ho gayi na. Toh main marr jaoongi! Please Mayank, save me!
Mayank: Nupur Nupur Nupur! Relax karo. Utho, aur paani peeyo.
Nupur: Leikin Mayank.
Mayank: Peeyo Na.
Nupur stood up and drank the water from the glass which was put on her study table.
Nupur: Ab?
Mayank: Ab yeh ke tum befiker ho ke so jao aur kal jab tum utho gi na, toh Mayank Simla pohonch chuka hoga. Aur abhi toh tumhe kuch bohot zaruri bhi batana hai.
He said looking at the ring he bought for Nupur.
Nupur: Mujhe bhi tumhe kuch batana hai Mayank. Tum pakka ao ge na?
Mayank: Mujhpe yakeen hai?
Nupur: Bohot zyada.
Mayank: Toh apni ankhein bandh karo, aur so jao. Kyunke kal tumhe surprise milne wala hai. And don't worry, mere hote hue... woh Sameer ya koi bhi tumhara kuch nahi bigaad paye ga.
Nupur: Mayank aik baat mano ge?
Mayank: Han.
Nupur: Yahan, mere ghar mein kissi ko apna asli naam na batana.
Mayank: Acha baba nahi batoon ga, chalo ab tum so jao. And yah.. kal ke liye tayyar rehna.
Nupur smiled and then, the phone disconnected.
