Geet tried to untie herself.
It was dark.
But she could just make out that she was tied to an altar in a church.
She wasn't the only one who was tied to the altar.
There was Maan and Meera, who were both tied beside her, unconcious.
Then suddenly out of nowhere, the sharp bright lights blinded her. She closed her eyes tight and forgetting she was an immortal, she prayed to God for some miracle to happen.
And then she saw Dev.
Dev came walking towards Geet with a creepy smirk on his face. He bent down and then held a knife against her neck.
Dev: "I just want to destroy you. You and Maan and Meera. They all get on my nerves. I want to kill all of you, so I can drink your blood again" he said and snorted.
Geet closed her eyes tight. She could feel the knife's cold metal against her skin.
But a thought suddenly occured to her.
This means that Dev didn't know that Maan and Gee were immortals then?
Geet was about to tell Dev to go on and kill her as she couldn't care less. She wanted to show him, that she was an immortal. She wasn't a human. And she couldn't die.
But his cell phone started beeping.
Dev dropped the knife and took out the phone from his pocket and looked at it in anger. He wanted to kill Geet and get it over and done with, but he went outside and took the calls anyway.
After Dev went out, Geet looked at the knife he had dropped. If only she could just reach that knife, she could free herself and everyone else and she could save the day.
Geet used her foot to reach for the knife. Her foot accidently got caught in the blade and gold blood started oozing out.
Geet winced.
She finally dragged the knife near her and she used her tied hands to reach for the knife. She somehow got the knife between her fingers and started to try and cut the rope that tied her hands.
As she was trying to untie herself, she heard coughs. They were from Maan.
Geet: "Maan?" she called out
Maan: "Geet" he said weakly
Geet: "We're all going to be OK. I'm just trying to untie myself. Wait, can't you use some of your powers?" she asked and stopped.
Maan tried.
It failed.
Maan: "Blocked" he said and shook his head.
Geet sighed and moved the knife up and down, up and down.
The knife had gone halfway through the rope but she couldn't do it anymore. Her hands felt numb and she started getting pins and needles in her arms. She even felt a little blood oozing out from her wrists.
Geet: "I can't do this" she said and felt sweat on her forehead and chest.
Maan: "You CAN do this. Come on! Try harder!" he said, desperate to be untied.
Geet took a deep breath and started again. After 10 minutes of trying to untie, the rope finally broke and her hands were broke free. Before she went and untied Maan, she rubbed her wrists so the pain could vanish.
She quickly got the knife and untied Maan and then looked at an unconcious Meera. Suddenly, she felt sorry for her. She also felt guilt prick her heart.
All because of her immortality, Geet couldn't spend time with Meera. She was too interested in her powers. She was too interested in Maan. She was too interested in life. She was too interested. So interested, she forgot about her own best friend who helped her settle in London. Meera didn't even know that Geet was immortal.
But she will tell her.
Very soon.
Right now the threesome had to get out of this place.
She quickly got the knife and began untying the rope. As she was, Meera slowly fluttered her eyes open and then looked around herself.
Meera: "Where... where am I?" she said innocently
Geet: "We're kidnapped. Don't worry, I'm getting us out of here" she said confidently and then unknotted the rope. She quickly made Meera stand up, but she was too dizzy to stand up. Finally after Meera collapsing and swaying, Maan decided to just lift her in his arms.
Maan looked at Geet for permission.
Geet: "Yes. Yes you can lift her. Hurry up before Dev co --"
She was cut short by some clappings. She turned around and looked at Dev, who was clapping and smirking.
Dev: "I guess I'll just have to kill you now" he said and held his pistol up at Geet. Geet looked back at Dev wide eyed.
"
Your going to be fine. Stay still" said Maan in her mind
Geet nodded and gulped. She knew she was immortal, but what if the bullet actually hit her and she died? Just like that?
Dev pulled the trigger and shot.
But the bullet went right through Geet.
Geet didn't so far as wince, or blink an eye.
No blood came out.
Nothing.
Dev, who was shocked beyond belief dropped the gun. The gun hit the ground, the noise echoing around the church.
Dev: "You..." he said and pointed his trembling finger at Geet.
Geet: "Yes. I can't die" she said and shrugged like it was the most logical scientific explanation in the whole world.
Maan faintly chuckled.
Dev then looked at Maan, who was holding Meera. He suddenly had an idea.
He picked up the gun. Maan expected him to try to shoot him but instead of his gun pointing at his face, it pointed to Meera's limp body.
Maan and Geet widened their eyes.
What should they do now?
"
What do we do?" said Maan in her mind
For once in his life, Maan had run out of solutions.
"
I don't know! Your the one who's clever!" Geet retorted back in his mind
There was a clock somewhere in the church. It went tick tock. Tick tock as Maan and Geet ran out of ideas.
But an idea suddenly struck Geet's mind.
"
Maan, quick! Lay Meera down quickly and stand in front of her. I'll stand beside you. We'll sort of... I don't know bodygaurd her. Dev can't kill us anyway. Hurry" she yelled in his mind
Maan smiled and nodded at what a great idea this was. He quickly lay Meera down on the floor and then stood in front of her, crossing his arms across his chest like he was just waiting for the bus.
Geet ran over to Maan and stood beside him.
Geet: "Right. If you want to kill Meera, your going to have to try and kill us first. If you kill us first I promise you can have Meera all to yourself" she said
Dev: "Theres a bomb in this room" he said bluntly
"WHAT?!" Maan and Geet said in unsion.
Dev: "If you can find and defuse the bomb, I'll leave" he said in a flat voice
Maan looked frantically around for the bomb, checking under the benches, and the tables.
Geet even felt herself in case the bomb was attached to her and she just didn't realize it. Since it wasn't there, she looked in every corner. Every nook.
It wasn't anywhere.
There was silence in the church. Only a noise, which was coming through Maan's direction. He was frantically looking through a bookshelf.
Geet could hear the beeping noise.
She went towards the beeping noise, clutching her ears so she could hear properly.
Geet thought she reached the area of the bomb because the beeping sound was loud. Loud enough for everyone to hear. Maan and Meera were across the other side of the church. Dev was just leaned against the wall casually.
And she finally found it.
She found the bomb attached at the top of the altar.
She stood on her tip toes and reached for the bomb with trembling hands. There were yellow, green, and red wires. Which one was she to cut?
Geet: "M... Maan! I think I found --" she said and didn't complete the rest of the sentence. There were only 10 seconds left.
Maan quickly sprinted towards Geet direction. He looked at the bomb.
5 seconds left.
Maan: "GET THE DAMN SCISSORS GEET!" he shouted
Geet quickly magiced up some powers and a pair of scissors appeared in her hands.
Maan: "THE RED ONE! THE RED ONE!" he yelled frantically
2 seconds left.
Geet cut the red wire.
1 second.
Maan and Geet closed their eyes tight as they prepared for an explosion. Geet didn't care about herself. She couldn't die anyway. But she was concerned for Meera. She didn't want her to die.
The bomb didn't explode.
Maan and Geet slowly opened there eyes and looked at the bomb in their hands. It was stopped at one second.
Geet breathed a huge sigh of relief and fell on Maan. She was so tensed, she didn't realize her whole body was trembling.
Maan hugged Geet back tightly.
Maan: "It's okay. It's okay" he reassured her, even though for the first time in his life he was scared just like Geet.
Meera.
They quickly broke the hug and found Dev still leaning casually against the wall. Meera was still on the floor.
Geet: "We defused the bomb" she said with as a confident voice as she could muster.
She held out the bomb.
Dev looked.

Dev held out his hand so he could get his bomb back but Geet hid it behind her back. She picked up the gun which was lying on the floor and held it in her free hand.
Dev looked at the gun and bomb, wide eyed.
He immediately made a run for it, heading towards the window.
Geet threw the bomb towards Dev and then just as he jumped out the window, she shot. The bomb exploded just outside the church.
Geet didn't know if vampires died.
But at least he was gone.
