Geet's eyes widened.
Maan grabbed a mirror which was on a table.
Maan: "Look at yourself Geet" he said
Geet took the mirror with trembling hands and held it up to her face.
Strangely, Geet looked exactly like Maan had drawn her that day. Her eye colour which was brown, had changed to a dark, intense shade of grey and all her wrinkles were gone.
She was more beautiful.
And then it all made sense.
Geet: "Were you drawing me as an... Immortal today?" she said and gasped
Maan blushed and then looked away. Instead of replying, he just cleared his throat and pretended to look at the magazine which was on the table.
Geet: "So... What can immortals do? What are they? Why have I changed?" she asked and then put the mirror away.
Maan looked back at Geet and prepared to answer all her questions. He took her hand and held it.
Maan: "I... I'm an immortal. And I gave you blood. Which turned you to a..." he said and trailed off
Geet gulped.
Maan: "Immortals have powers. They can read minds. Move objects. Erase memories and much more" he said
Geet was now more interested. She got up from her lying position and sat crossed legged, facing Maan.
Geet: "So... I can do any of that stuff you just mentioned?" she asked
Maan: "Yes. But you need training. I'll need to train you" he said
Geet: "Right...... So tell me how I survived that fall. Tell me about yourself. Tell me everything" she said and looked him in the eyes
Maan hesitated.
Geet: "You need to remember I'm an immortal now" she said and gave him a dangerous look
Maan: "Okay... Well be prepared then" he said and sat more comfortably in his chair.
Geet did the same and made herself comfortable.
Maan: "Today at the funfair... I heard you yell for help. I saw Dev undo your belt and... I was scared. Then I saw you fell and I felt like my life was..."
Maan hesitated again and decided to just leave that sentence.
Maan: "I saw you fell and I just used my powers. When the ride was over, Dev just went off with Meera without saying anything. I quickly bought candyfloss and pretended everything was alright. But really I felt my heart pound against my chest when you were nearly dying" he said and sighed.
Geet stared at Maan wide eyed.
Geet: "Wow" she whispered softly
Maan: "I couldn't see you with your arms paining like that. So I used my powers and healed you" he said
Geet: "Tell me about you" she said even softer this time
Maan: "I was born an immortal. I don't know how. My parents kept this away from me. I found out when I was an immortal when I nearly saw a friend die. I just naturally used my powers and then I found out I was an immortal. My parents' told me that they kept this away from me and I started to hate them for that. Then when I was 16 they told me to leave. They didn't want me anymore simply because I wasn't a human. That's why I keep this away from everyone. Your the only person i've told" he said and sighed
Geet felt angry at Maan's parents. She cursed them in her mind and then she turned her attention to Maan who was crying.
Geet: "Look, please don't cry" she said wiped his tears away
Maan: "I wish I was human. Look what i've turned you in to" he said and buried his face in his hands.
Geet: "Well... We're in this together. We won't tell anyone. We'll act normal. I'm with you on this. Stop crying or else you'll make me cry" she said and pretended to sniff
Maan immediately wiped his tears away and then his eye caught her lips. He felt tempted to kiss her but his temptation got broken by the nurse coming in the room.
Nurse: "These are the discharge papers of Geet Handa. She's free to go once you've signed this"
Maan nodded and took the paper from the Nurse's hands. He got out a pen from his pocket and began signing.
And then the question came.
Maan: "Relationship with patient" Maan murmered
Geet: "Boyfriend" she said
Maan didn't intend Geet to hear the question and when she answered for him, he felt shocked at her answer.
Maan: "Boyfriend?" he echoed
Geet: "Just do it" she said and rolled her eyes like she didn't care.
Maan shrugged like he didn't care either and wrote in 'boyfriend' with his elegant handwriting. After he did, he gave a faint smile and then handed the form back to the Nurse. The Nurse looked through the form. Her expression changed to slight jealousy.
Nurse: "Your her boyfriend?" she said bluntly, even though she could feel her heart pound in jealousy
Maan looked at the Nurse.
Maan: "Yes. Yes I am. Any problem?" he said and tried to hide his smirk. He knew what she was thinking.
The Nurse left without saying anything.
After the Nurse was gone, Maan snapped his fingers and a full outfit appeared right in front of Maan and Geet's eyes. Geet gasped and smiled and held the outfit gingerly.
Geet: "Beautiful" she said and climbed out of bed
Maan smirked.

Geet: "This is your house?" she said and looked around herself
Maan's house was perfect. It wasn't big, but it wasn't small either. It was warm, cosy, and well decorated.
Geet entered his living room and then looked around herself again. There was a fireplace which was already ignited, making the living room feel even cosier.
Geet's eye then caught the huge grandfather clock in the corner. It was 5:00am and the pitch black sky outside began to turn into a light blue mixed with dark.
Geet: "I love your house" she said and sat down carefully on a sofa.
Maan sat down beside her.
Maan: "There's this book called 'The Book of Immortal Powers'. It has all the techniques of powers written inside it and it also has instructions on how to train. Are you up for it?" he asked
Geet was already nodding before he could complete his sentence. So Maan stood up and went upstairs.
As he was gone, Geet's eye caught a picture frame of Maan on the coffee table. She picked it up and then touched the photo with her fingers gingerly.
Geet: "He's so handsome" she thought in her mind
Geet could have been lost in that picture forever if it weren't for the noise of creaking stairs. She immediately put the photo frame back in it's position and then pretended to look around herself.
Maan: "Let's go in my bedroom. It's pretty big" he said standing in the staircase. He then made his way back up. Geet stood up and catched up with him.
Geet entered Maan's bedroom and looked around herself. It WAS big. Like Maan said.
His room was cosy as well. It was warm and there was a bookshelf full of books. He also had paintbrushes scattered on his desk and a painting in the corner.
Then Geet looked at his bed. It was probably a king size bed. A sudden image immerged in her head. She found herself fantasising Maan in that bed with his arm around her waist and herself snuggled onto Maan's chest.
Her heart pounded as she looked away and blushed.
She then remembered that Maan could read thoughts so she immediately tried to forget it. But she couldn't.
Maan: "What are you thinking?" he asked and narrowed his eyes
Geet: "Me? Oh nothing" she said in a high pitched voice.
Maan: "You speak so many lies, Geet" he said and put the book down and walked towards her. Geet clumsily took a step back and this continued happening until her back hit the wall.
Maan: "Tell me" he whispered
Geet: "Don't you dare try and read my thoughts" she said and put her hand on his chest. The proximity between him and Geet was so close, nothing could come between them.
Maan: "Why?" he said and whispered on her neck
Geet: "It's..." she said and gulped.
Geet: "It's embarrassing" she said and put her other hand on his chest. Maan looked down at both her hands which were lying softly on his chest.
Maan's intense black eyes pierced through her soul. Geet was forced to look back into his eyes. He was like a magnet. He was irresistable.
Maan: "Your beautiful. Do you know that?" he said and tilted his head. Both their foreheads were touching now.
Geet gulped.
