Scene 87 Maan and Geet were attending a wedding of Maan's relatives in their home town. It was the first wedding Geet and Maan attended as husband and wife. They had to stay there for three days due to Dadima insisting Maan make an effort with his family now that he was a family man.
Geet was reluctant to go she was nearly 6 and half months pregnant. She was glowing. Dadima insisted it will do good for Geet a change of scenary and make Maan a bit more social.
Maaneet arrived and everyone greeted the couple and admired Geet.
"Maan beta kiya Punjab ki sherni le ke aye ho...bahut khoobsurat hain aur tum kitne khush kismet ho tum jaise akar khan ko aisi patni mili jis ne tume jurwa bacho ka baap bana diya" his elder Aunty pulled his ears. Maan smiled embarrassed.
Geet was feeling tired "Maan inn sab ko kaho ke hume humara kamra dekai main bahut thak chuki hoon".
"Aunty ji wo main Geet thaki hain toh humara kamra kaha hain?" he asked awkwardly.
The aunty laughed " Beta 3 din apni biwi ko bhool jao sab larke aik kamre main aur sab larkiya aik kamre main...main larkiyon ko kehti hoon ke Geet ko le jai".
Maan thought *yeh kiya musibat hain ulta hume juda kar diya iss aunty ne damn!*
Maaneet could not sleep at night they were so use to each other. Maan rang her 12pm
"Hello Geet tum jag rehi tih?"
"Haan" croaked Geet.
"Kyon"?
"Aapki yaad aa rehi tih" she whispered.
"Muje bhi...I miss you"
"Maan aap phone rakiye agar aunty utt gait oh aapki khair nahi aur main aapse baat bhi nahi kar sakti koi sun le ga"
"Acha teek hain...Geet I love you"
"Me too bye".
Somehow they managed to sleep though reluctantly. Next day was mehndi day. Maan tried real hard to meet Geet but Aunty kept on fobbing him off that Geet was getting her mehndi done and all the girls were busy getting ready. Maan was getting restless.
Maan wore his black sherwani with silver embroidery..he looked like a prince. All the girls cooed at him and eyed him up. All the girls came down but Geet was not there. Maan kept asking they said she will be down in a minute.
All the girls and boys were dancing including the married couple...Girls were using chat up lines to talk to Maan but he was not interested. He rang on her mobile but there was no answer.
Suddenly the lights went off...everyone panicked...aunty was trying to calm everyone down...Maan had matches box on him he lit it...as soon it was lit he saw Geet a few yards away from him...wearing a baby pink lengha with silver embroidery...her hear had twists at the front and she had a high plait with a paranda...she was wearing a low backed blouse...she had sindoor in her maang and a bindi that was dazzling from afar...she looked like a hoor.
Maan moved towards her bewitched by her beauty...she walked towards him feeling awkward. They came close and both had an eyelock...it seemed Maan had seen her for the first time. Maan suddenly without any prompting started saying some poetry to Geet:

insaan ho ya pari ho tum
kitni fursat se banaya hoga
tumhei banane wale ne

Maan looked at Geet with intense eyes...he looked hypnotised...he saw Geet talking to the girls. He started singing around the guys...Geet looked startled and puzzled.

Maan and Geet were approaching each other to dance that a girl grabbed Maan and started dancing..whilst Geet was taken by Maan's cousin.

Geet twirled and Maan's cousin pushed her towards Maan..Geet rested her hands on Maan's chest and suddenly smiled.

Maan grabbed her long paranda and traced it with his lips and twirled her and her paranda went round her neck.

Geet eyes could not see Maan so she started looking around...and he came behind her and started singing. She blushed.

By now Maan made it obvious that he was in love with Geet so much that one night was too much for him to bare without her.

"Mundiya aj teh tu dil khush kar deta..aina pyar apni voti naal...Babaji buri nazar toh bachai" cooed Aunty
Maan pinched Geet "Ouchhhhhhh"
"Geet kiya hua? Bahut dard ho raha hain...tum fikar mat karo main tume doctor ke paas le chalta hoon don't worry...sorry Aunty ji hume jaana hoga Geet bahut distressed hain..aur bahut dard ho raha hain uss ko" Maan winked at Geet.
Geet was puzzled what was her hubby up to...she just played along😕
"Haan Aunty ji main doctor ke paas jati hoon...muje bahut takleef hain"
"Acha beta jao aap..aur agar Geet achi hogai toh kal zaroor aana".
Maaneet literally ran from there...😆
